Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence in Christian Education

CHARLOTTE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

our history

Since 1950, Charlotte Christian School has faithfully equipped and developed students to effectively integrate Biblical truth and learning into their daily lives, ultimately impacting culture for Christ. Charlotte Christian graduates are taught to blend spiritual formation, pursuit of excellence, innovation, curiosity and creativity into the way they think and interact with the world around them.

Charlotte Christian school is...

a wonderful and diverse community that unites in a passion for Christian education. We are tremendously blessed to have a dedicated faculty who know and love their students and are experts in their craft. We provide a beautiful campus that is not only aesthetically pleasing but, more importantly, is also safe and secure so students can focus on learning and growing into the young men and women God has created them to be.

In all things, we teach and learn through a Biblical worldview lens. Our academic program begins in our lower school, where our environment is intentionally designed to develop students who are inquisitive, engaged and challenged to discover while building a solid foundation. Our middle school is designed to allow students to explore their unique gifts and talents through new experiences and areas of study while supporting adolescent learners. The upper school provides robust academic offerings that allow students to fulfill specialized interests, embrace intellectual curiosity and encourage students to wrestle with life’s questions from a Biblical worldview.

We desire to provide all of our students an educational experience that is balanced and supportive. Our graduates are prepared for college and beyond spiritually, academically, socially and physically. Our school benediction frames our hope for each child. We pray that our students and graduates do justice, love kindness and walk humbly (Micah 6:8) in a way that honors our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your interest in Charlotte Christian School. I hope that you find a home here just as my family and I have over the last 16 years.

upper SCHOOL

Grades 9-12

In the upper school, we have designed a program that leads with three essential principles: educate with excellence, equip with relevance and encourage relationships.

• Our robust college preparatory academic program includes a solid sequence of core courses, extensive AP and honors courses, and diverse elective offerings taught through a biblical worldview. Our dynamic upper school program also includes a Winterim, mission trips and spiritual retreats.

• Students complement their academics with our extensive cocurricular opportunities that foster growth, instill confidence and hone leadership skills.

“Being a Knight means that I have the opportunity to have friends who also strive to follow the Lord and teachers who pour into me. I appreciate the opportunities that being a Knight brings, like spending time with students across the different divisions."
- Ashlyn Preston ('25)

SEEK TRUTH

• Rich spiritual life programs aim to develop a biblical worldview and prepare students for life ahead. Weekly chapel, advisory, leadership and service are integral to our balanced program.

Charlotte Christian competes in the 4A division of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) and is a member of the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA). The athletic department offers 21 sports (boys and girls) and fields 51 teams in those sports at the middle school, junior varsity and varsity levels. More than 80 percent of Charlotte Christian students in grades 7-12 participate in school-sponsored athletics. A comprehensive athletic performance program and on-campus trainers exist to safely prepare middle and upper school athletes for the rigors of competition.

Fine arts are an integral part of student life at Charlotte Christian. Our extensive award-winning program includes studies in digital arts, music, theatre and visual arts with opportunities to explore the arts in co-curricular programming as well. Lower school students build a strong foundation in the arts through age appropriate experiences in the visual art and music classrooms. Middle school students use that foundation as a launch point to dive deeper, hone skills, and find their affinity in the arts. A multitude of arts electives are available to students in grades 5-12 including digital photography, guitar, digital music, film production, and much more. Performance ensembles including band, choir, orchestra, and theatre begin grade 5 and expand in upper school to include honors level and specialized ensembles such as UKnight Worship, Jazz Band, Chamber Ensemble and competitive theatre ensembles. Higher level course offerings include AP Studio Art, AP Art History, and AP Music Theory.
