SWOT ANALYSIS EVALUATION Skills & Knowledge Awareness of diverse & global range of design cultures & languages I am aware of the global range of design culture, and I see myself with a basic knowledge of the few experiences of the range of designs throughout the world. I love the cultures of Italy and France, as the interior design there is what inspires me to be where I am today. Experience of design research, analysis & synthesis In this analysis I consider myself as a competent, as I think of myself to be a good analyser and I am good at researching into design. Researching and analysing in my design process has helped me with creating my designs and prototyping them. Visualising/Prototyping skills & aptitudes in a range of media & formats My prototyping and visualising skills are at a competent stage, as when I create these prototypes of my designs help me see them in real view. I use my visualising skills, when I use Google Sketch up or Auto CAD, as it helps me see what my designs look like from a perspective view. Aptitude in compiling interim & summative design presentation My design presentation skills are at a basic level, as I am not all that confident in speaking out in front of others in a big group as I would rather keep it to myself. But when the option arrives I do present and I do prefer the feedback of others. Aptitude for designing through a digital platform I am very competent at my working through a digital platform, using Google Sketch up, Auto CAD and Photoshop. I am very confident in using these programmes, as they are easy to use for me and help me to get through the design process in my work. Knowledge & Experience of process, component & production technology I know most of the technology in the workshop of making my designs; I am at a developing stage of this level at the moment. I know what materials are used for the machines, I'm just not very confident in using the machines by myself. Project Process Experience of design process & methodologies The methodologies I used for my projects and my designs were to make an action plan and each week I would plan what I needed to do each day. I would also make a check list on my project and I would check it off each day if I had done it or not. Experience of team leadership & management In my experience of team leadership and management, I can manage myself and others in a group, but when it comes to speaking out and presenting, I’m not very confident to put myself first in front of others. Experience in costing projects & fee negotiation I am very good in knowing my prices, and calculating new workings out. I know the best deals most of the time and can give out to customers the best deals they can get right now. I know most costing prices of materials and other things.

SWOT ANALYSIS EVALUATION Experience of planning & managing project activity In the planning process for the project activity, I am quite organised and know how I am going to plan everything out and managing my work. I use an action plan to plan my week out and to organise my work into ‘To do lists’ each week. Experience of managing client relationships & collaborations I am good with meeting new people and catching there personalities and understanding what’s their needs and what they like best. I am good at communicating with clients and have a very imaginative and creative mind towards others. Experience of a wide range of project types & scales of innovation I have a wide range of projects that I have done throughout the years of my design process, some projects I have really enjoyed making the models, creating designs with sketches and auto CAD. Over the years I have experience different types of design: Graphic, Product and Interior. Enterprise & Marketing Knowledge of design sectors & creative industries As I have said above in the many years of school, college and university I have gone through three types of design in my life. Graphic design was one of the courses I took at school and made games and websites for this course. For my Product Design in college I made trophies and a pram for children. Now in my interior design course I have come as far as doing over 8 projects these past two years and I love this course. Experience of project procurement & client consultation At the moment with my clients I am knowledgeable towards them and I know what I’m doing with them. But I do not know the legal and illegal legislations of what I’m doing, which I would like to know more of. Experience in planning continuing professional development In my future development of my life I would like to be an experienced/ professional interior designer, and work in business with other companies. Once my few years of working with other companies, I would like to take over my Dad’s Architectural/ Interior business (DV8-Designs) when he has retired. Experience and understanding of legislation & regulations In my understanding and experience I have had none, as I am only into my second year of university and I do not have much experience from any of these. I hope by the end of this year I would know what the legislations and regulations are of interior design. Experience of design budgets & account management In my experience of design budgets, I did some work experience for my dad and back then he give me viewing on what the budgets he had for a project and had to work out what he could do with it to get to standards with the client. Experience of design practice marketing & promotion As I have said in the few above, I worked with my dad in his practice and creatively gathered some experience in marketing and promotion with how to make a website and make it comfortable for the clients and attractive for them to see. SWOT ANALYSIS EVALUATION Understanding & practice of ethical business standards I have a basic knowledge on what clients want and what they desire, but to look into it further I would have to research into the ethical standards and learn more into what the different standards are for others. Subscription to policies & standards of ethical design I have an understanding of the standard of the ethical design and know what the needs of this are. But I need to research into the policies of the ethical design as I do not have much knowledge into this topic. Commitment to & understanding of the imperatives of professional practice. I know the importance of the professional practice, as I push myself to work hard to achieve my goals, finish deadlines and I am committed to always achieving this work on time. I understand the deadlines and importance of the projects. Awareness & appreciation of key design futures & innovation trends I am aware of the trends of interior design and what are the latest favourites out this season, I buy the odd magazine every now and then and watch programmes like: Grand Designs, How to double your house for the half the price, George Clarks Amazing Spaces. These are the programmes I like to get into and watch. Commitment to the advancement of design knowledge, expertise & value I have a lot of commitment to the more professional design, and know a few things about interior design and the values of the design. Awareness & practice of user centred design I have many experiences in user centred design, they have showed me into the design and how I can give a client a better view of their creations and give them what they need.
