From mid-July to early December, a new challenge subject will be set in the group. It may be interpreted however an individual wishes, but the ICM technique must be the overriding element in the image. I have chosen an outside judge for each challenge to offer a wide variety of feedback and varying outlooks on ICM photography. This is a cumulative competition: Points 1-10 are awarded for the top 10 placings each challenge. (1st place gaining 10 and 10th place 1) A point is awarded to every entrant to say thank you for submitting. A bonus 5 points are awarded to each of Charlie’s top 5 each challenge. In December there will be an online awards evening, with some small prizes, and to celebrate everyone’s achievements. Many thanks to Angela Nicholson for judging this challenge. Angela is a lady of many talents, mostly photographic related. I have been influenced by her support for women photographers the world over with the establishment of the extremely well supported She Clicks network. I’ve been a member for a number of years and have presented webinars for the group and have gained much inspiration and encouragement from those in the group. This group membership is only for the ladies – if you are not a member do go and join on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/sheclicksnet or the website Theyhttps://www.sheclicks.net/alsohaveasuperYouTube channel which is open to all Angelahttps://www.youtube.com/c/SheClicks/videosisadirectoratCameraJabberandSqueezy
Media as well – Camera Jabber offers super up to date reviews of photographic equipment and much more. Whilst Squeezy Media offers the creations of content for websites, publication and social media to increase your attractiveness to potential clients.

So, the ‘In the house’ challenge is complete, and once again a brilliant turnout from all of you who submitted. I was hoping you would all unleash your creativity on me and show me your abstract side and I was not disappointed! Such creativity from some of the most mundane items in the house! Proof if it was needed that even if we are relegated to our homes through lockdowns or ill health, we can still have fun with a camera.
I created this ICM challenge, to offer a friendly competition within the creative group I run for all previous course attendees and mentee students. It is to encourage interaction in the group and to offer a reason to share or make photos in reaction to a prompt.
Copyright remains with each of the photographers, please do not save in anyway the images from this document. Without further ado – I would like to introduce you to your winners. Congratulations to the top 10.
Lyn Rostron Many congratulations to the winner of this challenge. Angela said - This reminds me of the coloured silks that some gymnasts use and I see their movement in your elegant image. I love the colour combinations.

2nd Place
Barbara Kato McKenzie Angela said - There’s something very soothing about this image, the colours are calming and there’s just the right degree of blur. I like that I can put my own interpretation onto your image, it could be a flower or folded napkins, but it also has a fluid feel like water over sand.
3rd Place
Michelle Jackson Angela said - We often try to make sense of ICM images and decipher the subject. I like that the flowers and bottle are just recognisable in this image, it feels like an old master painting is being revealed beneath another more recent painting.

Now if you were looking for your image in there and it was missing, there is a reason – You are in this section. I really appreciated Angela judging the ‘in the house’challenge for me, but in addition to his placing I also wanted to award my own top 5. Some you will see appear chosen by us both, but a couple were completely different choices – and that reflects how we each enjoy and perceive art in different ways. Congratulations to Lyn for making top 10 and top 5. Congratulations to Sue Woodbridge, Sue White, Valerie, and Camilla for their top 5 placing here. My top 5 are not in any specific order – so all these images have been awarded a bonus 5 points.
