My Father was a member of The Macon Country Band in the 70’s and they played in a bar called the Hangar 4 Lounge. This music is a recording from a live show on a Friday night. My goal with this work is to represent the music and my own of interpretation of how the music makes me feel. It is a huge joy for me to represent my Father and his past which I know he is so proud of. I am so thankful for this opportunity and for the musical ability and talent that I grew up with that has helped me to become the dancer/choreographer I am today.

Woodey Professor Kermitstein here. It's day 613, and I'm ready. Today is the day! I will step out of my lab and enter the world with new intentions and a new invention to come. Oh it will be beautiful, a true challenge, but once I catch all four of them, they will be mine. Mine to control, to teach, to grow from and with.

Human experiment is the name of the game and I need humans! Though I see one of my targets seems to have a spouse that is particularly intriguing... I might as well go for it. What do I have to lose? Lucky number five?? That has a nice ring to it, and the more the merrier, am I right?

Of course I'm right, I'm a genius.

The cool guy Ray will be lucky enough to receive brains. It's the least I could do.

He doesn't seem to have much luck with captivating the uniquely independent gal, Dorothy. I like her. Spunk is always good in my book. She's a keeper. Better me than the Grim Reaper, Yep! Right again!

The friendly chap that seems lost on his own will surely fall for my traps. Oh Lennie! He just has a way of bringing my palm to my face. The wife...Laura, is it?.... I might just use this woman to lure in the prize. Jim. Jim, Jim, Jim. He'll be a tough one to capture. Will he fall for my plan? I'll have to turn her quickly, he would do anything for her. He seems "good," and maybe that's the character I am missing. They don't even see me coming? A day in the park that ends in the dark... Oh what a day to make history. LEADERSHIP Hope Muir, Artistic Director Hope Muir became artistic director of Charlotte Ballet in 2017. Born in Toronto, Hope was a founding member of Peter Schaufuss’s London Festival Ballet School. Upon graduation she joined the company (now English National Ballet), and in 1994 Hope joined Rambert Dance Company with the appointment of Christopher Bruce CBE and danced a wide variety of repertoire from prolific choreographers, including Ek, Kylián, Naharin, Tharp, Tetley, De Frutos, Cunningham and over a dozen Bruce works. After ten years with the award winning RDC, she moved to Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and expanded her repertoire to include Forsythe, Duato and Lubovitch.

After a 20-year performance career, Hope became a sought after guest teacher and rehearsal director, coaching both classical and contemporary technique. She has worked with The National Ballet of Canada, English National Ballet, Rambert Dance Company and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Company. Hope has assisted numerous choreographers on setting their works internationally including Christopher Bruce CBE, Javier De Frutos and Helen Pickett. She helped Crystal Pite on her creation Emergence for the National Ballet of Canada in 2009, was invited by Emily Molnar to be guest rehearsal director for Ballet BC and worked as rehearsal assistant for Hofesh Shechter’s creation Untouchable at the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden. Hope joined Scottish Ballet in 2009 and was promoted to assistant artistic director in 2015. Hope’s first season as artistic director for Charlotte Ballet included the introduction of eight new choreographers to the company, the creation of five new ballets, two ballets making American premieres and the newly established Choreographic Lab. Christopher Stuart, Program Director Charlotte Ballet II & Rehearsal Director Originally from Sandy Hook, Connecticut, Stuart always had a niche for choreographing.

His vast experiences as a dancer and performer helped him articulate his choreographic voice through improvising and exploring different forms of movement. Embarking upon his journey as a choreographer has allowed him to further express himself in a free and limitless way. Stuart has created pieces for Nashville Ballet 2, Nashville Ballet, Quixotic Fusion and Ballet Arkansas. In Nashville Ballet’s 2012 Emergence performance, he collaborated with ALIAS Chamber Ensemble and Watkins College of Art, Design & Film. In 2012 he choreographed and staged Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s Macbeth. For the past three seasons Stuart has created pieces for Nashville Ballet’s annual Ballet Ball with music performed

by Holly Williams, Kellie Pickler, Clare Bowen and John Oates. For Nashville Ballet’s 2014 Attitude series, he created Under the Lights, a full length work to the music of Johnny Cash performed by Sugar and the Hi lows to which ArtsNash said, “Stuart’s choreography proved to be a seamless blend of classical, modern and popular dance styles.” Stuart was a finalist in Ballet Arkansas’ first annual Visions Choreographic Competition. In 2015 Stuart had the pleasure of choreographing a piece to the music of the world renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers. In 2016 and 2017 he was awarded a choreographic Fellowship from the New York Choreographic Institute. Nashville Ballet presented Stuart’s world premiere of Seven Deadly Sins. In July 2017 he created a new work for the National Choreographers Initiative in Irvine, CA. In 2017 Stuart created a new work for Nashville Ballet entitled The Raven, after Edgar Allan Poe’s poem. In 2018 Chattanooga Ballet commissioned a new work for them. Stuart had a commission with Charlotte Ballet presented in their 2019/2020 season, as well as new commissions with Oklahoma City Ballet and Eugene Ballet. Stuart had the pleasure of dancing with Nashville Ballet for 16 years and rose to the rank of principal. He served as Resident Choreographer of Nashville Ballet and also choreographed for schools and companies around the country. Stuart became Program Director Charlotte Ballet II and Rehearsal Director of Charlotte Ballet in 2020.

Traci Gilchrest Kubie, Rehearsal Director Traci Gilchrest Kubie was born in El Paso, TX and danced professionally for Hartford Ballet, Ballet Arizona, Chautauqua Ballet and Charlotte Ballet. During her 20-year career, she danced many leading roles by George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, William Forsythe, Alonzo King, Mark Diamond and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. She has been a guest teacher for Alvin Ailey, The Rock School in Philadelphia and East Carolina University. She retired from Charlotte Ballet in 2011 after a 16-year career to serve as Repetiteur for the Charlotte Ballet and Charlotte Ballet II. She is an instructor with the Charlotte Ballet Academy and in addition stages ballets on Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Carolina Ballet Theatre among others. In 2009 she was celebrated by the Chautauqua Dance Circle for her “extraordinary artistry and contributions to Chautauqua Dance.”

Sasha Janes, Resident Choreographer Sasha Janes was born in Perth, Australia, and received his formal dance training from the Australian Ballet School. He has danced professionally with the West Australian Ballet, Australian Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Dayton Ballet and Charlotte Ballet. In 2006, Sasha was commissioned to choreograph his first ballet, Lascia la Spina, Cogli la Rosa, and since has choreographed many ballets for Charlotte Ballet, including Rhapsodic Dances, performed as part of the Kennedy Center’s Ballet Across America series in June 2013. The Washington Post called Sasha “a choreographer to watch.” He was invited to participate in the New York Choreographic Institute’s spring session, where he created Murmuration on the students of the School of American Ballet. In 2013, he created Dominant Curves for Richmond Ballet’s New Works Festival. Sasha was a principal dancer with Charlotte Ballet for eight seasons before being named rehearsal director in 2007 and associate artistic director in 2012, adding the title resident choreographer in 2013. Sasha continues his role as resident choreographer, while also serving as director of contemporary studies for the Chautauqua Institution. Sasha currently serves as an Associate Professor for The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Douglas Singleton, Executive Director Doug Singleton’s passion for dance began at Spoleto Festival USA with a performance of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. After graduating from the College of Charleston, he moved to New York City and spent over five years traveling with the Ailey company.

While in New York, he was the producing manager for the premiere performances of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, led by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, and worked with dance luminaries such as Judith Jamison, Masazumi Chaya, Jerome Robbins, Garth Fagan, Elisa Monte and Lar Lubovitch. Doug joined Charlotte Ballet in 1996. He received the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 under 40 Award and was selected to the 2008-2010 Class of the William C. Friday Fellowship of Human Relations at the Wildacres Leadership Initiative.

He is a board member of the Cornelius Arts Center and serves on the steering committee of MeckSummit. Doug is the past chair of Dance/USA and formerly served on the Knight Arts Advisory Committee, the NC Arts Council’s Grants Panel, and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, MD. He proudly served on the boards of the Choir School at St. Peters in Charlotte and ARTS North Carolina, advocating for public funding to support arts programming throughout the state. He and his wife Viki live in Charlotte with their three children.

ARTISTIC CONTRIBUTORS Audrey Ipapo Baran, Choreographer Audrey Ipapo Baran is a Filipino-American dance performer, maker, and educator based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She holds a MFA in Dance from Hollins University and a BA in Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she is the Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance. She is the founder / artistic director of Baran Dance and apprentice company BD2 and on the faculty of Charlotte Ballet Academy. Audrey has presented work through Sites in the City, FEMMEfest, the National Dance Educators Organization Conference, Bill Evans Somatic Dance Conference, the North Carolina Dance Festival, Tobacco Road Dance Productions, Triangle Dance Project, Ladyfest CLT, Charlotte Dance Festival and numerous self-produced productions. She was the 2019 UNCC Department of Dance Distinguished Alum, an inaugural recipient of the Creative Renewal Fellowship from the Arts and Science Council, a selected choreographer for Charlotte Ballet’s Innovative: Direct from the LAB 2021, and has received recognition for her work from the Movies by Movers Festival, Charlotte Emerging Dance Awards, and Carolina Arts & Theatre Awards. Audrey is also a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and thrives on sharing her love of movement and mindfulness throughout the Queen City and beyond.

Bianca Bonner, Choreographer and Charlotte Ballet Director of Education & Community Engagement Bianca Bonner was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She began her dance training at Ruth Williams Dance Studio at a young age. She later trained with Mary Barnett, former associate artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, in ballet, jazz, modern and African dance. Bonner has also studied under Melba Lucas, Aziza, Rae Ross Sandifer, Ann Vachon, Ruth Williams, Laura Williams, Bruce Hawkins, Kariamu Welsh, Chuck Davis and many others.

Bonner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media and a Master of Education degree in Dance from Temple University. Bonner served on faculty at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She has taught in various schools, studios and camps including The New Freedom Theatre and National Youth Sports Program. In 2000 Bonner co-directed an arts consortium that aimed to heighten appreciation and skilled development in dance called Cayenne Entertainment. Bonner has performed with Kariamu & Company Traditions and has received certification in the Umfundalai technique, a Pan-African contemporary technique developed by Dr. Kariamu Welsh. She toured nationally and internationally with Chuck Davis and The African American Dance Ensemble, partaking in residencies, dance workshops, lecture demonstrations and outreach celebrating African dance through love, peace and respect. Bonner has served on the board of Charlotte Dance Festival and was named Best Choreography at the Charlotte Emerging Dance Awards in 2009. During that same year she received a choreography award from the North Carolina Theatre Conference for Studs Terkel’s Working. In 2012 she was awarded the John W. Parker Award for Excellence in Directing from the North Carolina Theatre Conference for Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. For six years, Bonner has choreographed main stage theatre productions with the Union County Performance Ensemble under the direction of Larry Robinson. Bonner served as dance educator for seven years at Central Academy of Technology & Arts in Union County Public Schools.

John P. Woodey, Lighting Designer John has designed for numerous companies including the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Olney Theatre Center, Imagination Stage, Shaker Mountain Opera, Theatre Charlotte, Gallery Players(Off Broadway), Access Theatre(Off Broadway), Chautauqua Opera and Charlotte Ballet. Some of John’s Charlotte Ballet credits include Rhapsodic Dances, Last Lost Chance, Gateways, Right(s), Unsex Me Here, Let Be and most recently Dispersal, Journey Home and Colony of Desire. John spent time in London designing for the Central St. Martins School of Art where he designed lights for “The Birds Project.” Other lighting credits include assisting at Baltimore’s Centerstage, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Play House, Geva Theater and the Alley Theatre. John was faculty and designer at DeSales and Catholic Universities. He is the Assistant Professor of Technical Theatre and Resident Designer at Johnson C. Smith University. He completed his graduate work at Ohio University where he received the regional Peggy Ezekiel Award of Outstanding Achievement in Design. CHOREOGRAPHERS AND ARTISTS Raven Barkley - New York (6th Season) Raven, from Bronx, NY, began dancing at age 10 at Ballet Tech, the New York City Public School for Dance. She furthered her training at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia Arts High School for Music and Art and Performing Arts, where she graduated with honors. While at LaGuardia, Raven also attended the Dance Theatre of Harlem’s (DTH) Pre- Professional Program as a scholarship student and performed with DTH’s Dancing Through Barriers Ensemble. While at DTH, Raven was selected as a featured dancer for the Scholastic Children’s book, “Beautiful Ballerina” by Marilyn Nelson. During the summer of 2013 and 2014, Raven performed choreography

by Tony Award winner George Faison for the NYC SummerStage Performance Series. In 2015, Raven graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Dance with a concentration in ballet from SUNY Purchase.

While at Charlotte Ballet Raven has been recognized as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” (2018) and The Charlotte Observer’s “1 to Watch” (2018). The following year she received the Delta Sigma Theta (Charlotte Alumnae Chapter) Outstanding Achievement in the Arts award (2019). Raven has performed work by Bryan Arias, George Balanchine, Aszure Barton, Eliot Feld, Robert Garland, Sasha Janes, Jiří Kylián, Jessica Lang, Arthur Mitchell, Matthew Neenan, Helen Pickett, Dwight Rhoden, Taryn Russell and Myles Thatcher.

Nadine Barton - California (2nd Season) Nadine, born in California, received most of her classical ballet training at Artistic Dance Center of Doral in Miami. Other experience with Miami City Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet as an apprentice, Sarasota Ballet as a trainee and Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami as a soloist. She then danced with Alabama Ballet for 5 years. Some of her favorite roles were Myrtha in Giselle, Coffee and Demi Flowers in Balanchine’s Nutcracker, and Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty. In their 2018/19 Season, Nadine was commissioned to create WATTS, a new work which the company premiered in April 2019. She’s been recognized in competitions such as: the Youth American Grand Prix, where she earned Gold in 2011 semifinals; the American Dance Competition, where she won the Traditional Excellence Award for the pas de deux of Giselle Act ll; and the Honorary Fernando Bujones Excellence Award. She is also a 2012 finalist of the YoungArts organization. In the summer of 2018, she was one of 60 dancers chosen worldwide to take part in Netherlands Dans Theater’s Summer Intensive in Den Haag.

Colby Foss - North Dakota (4th Season) Colby began his dance training in Fargo, North Dakota at age 15. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a BFA in Dance Performance. Since graduating, Colby has danced professionally at Ballet Nouveau Colorado, which was included on Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch,” and Wonderbound for seven seasons. He has worked with choreographers such as Garrett Ammon, Bryan Arias, Peter Chu, Ma Cong, Duane Cyrus, Javier de Frutos, Mark Godden, Johan Inger, Sasha Janes, Kevin Jenkins, Alex Ketley, Maurya Kerr, Helen Pickett, Filipe Portugal, Chris Stuart, Myles Thatcher, Medhi Walerski, and Robyn Mineko Williams. Colby has been a principal dancer with the Central City Opera. He has also performed in Sweet and Lucky with Third Rail Projects and The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and he performed in the Bessie award winning production, Then She Fell, in New York City. One of Colby’s favorite rolls was playing Leonce in Christian Spuck’s, Leonce and Lena.

Josh Hall - North Carolina (9th Season) Josh started dancing at Lisa’s Dance Academy in Syracuse, NY. At age 8, he moved to North Carolina and started training at Dance Productions under Denise Britz-Clarke and Ed Phelan, and at Piedmont Dance Conservatory under Rebecca Massey Wiley and Daniel Wiley. He attended high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied under Warren Conover, Nina Danilova, Douglas Gawriljuk, Nigel Burley and Ethan Stiefel.

Josh attended summer intensives under full scholarship with Miami City Ballet, Charlotte Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Josh has performed as Siegfried in Swan Lake and as the Snow King and Cavalier in Nutcracker.

Sarah Hayes Harkins - North Carolina (13th Season) Sarah’s early training was in Asheville, NC, at the Asheville Center of Performing Arts, after which she attended North Carolina School of the Arts in the High School Program.

She performed George Balanchine’s Serenade for the Tribute to Melissa Hayden, and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. In 2005, she performed with Ballet Adriatico in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Sarah attended summer intensives with Miami City Ballet and Charlotte Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include, Choleric in Balanchine’s Four Temperaments, Stars and Stripes Pas De Deaux, Lena in Christian Spuck’s Leonce and Lena, The Mature Woman in Johan Inger’s Walking Mad, the Grey Girl in Jiří Kylián’s Forgotten Land, and David Dawson’s Opus 11.

Ben Ingel - North Carolina (7th Season) Ben is from Charlotte, NC and began his dance training at age 9 with Ginny Siano-Eck of Foothills Dance Conservatory in Seneca, SC and Pavel Gurevich of Boston Ballet. He then transferred to Charlotte Ballet Academy. Ben attended his freshman and sophomore year of high school at North Carolina School of the Arts and continued his training at the Boston Ballet School and the Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. Ben has had the privilege of working with Alonzo King, Mark Diamond, Claudio Munoz, Dwight Rhoden and Twyla Tharp. Ben has performed various classical and contemporary repertoire including Ohad Nahirin’s Minus 16, Johan Inger’s Walking Mad, Jiří Kylián’s Forgotten Land, George Balanchine’s Who Cares? and Dwight Rhoden’s The Groove. Ben began his professional career with Charlotte Ballet II during the 2012/2013 Season and was promoted to the first company in the 2014/2015 Season.

Sarah Ingel - Choreographer (6th Season) Sarah Ingel is a Charlotte based dance artist and performance maker. She graduated high school from the North Carolina School of Arts with a concentration in Contemporary Dance and Composition, then received her B.F.A. in Dance (with minors in Film and Theatre) from Hollins University in partnership with the American Dance Festival. She has had the privilege of working with artists including Sidra Bell, Ivy Baldwin, Douglas Becker, Leah Cox, Ishmael Houston-Jones, John Jasperse, Helen Simoneau, Vanessa Voskuill, and Jesse Zaritt. Sarah’s choreographic work has been showcased as a part of Charlotte Ballet’s Choreographic Lab, Helen Simoneau Danse’s OnSite/InSight Festival, and the Charlotte BOOM Festival. She is a recipient of the Regional Artist Project Grant from the Charlotte Arts and Science Council and has received a Knight Foundation/National Choreography Center of Akron Scholarship to attend the Dance/ USA 2019 Conference. Sarah works behind the scenes for Charlotte Ballet and has been a member of the Goodyear Arts Collective since 2015. She is co-director of ladyfestCLT, promoting femme performance makers in the Southeast. Now in its 7th year, ladyfestCLT won Charlotte Magazine’s Award for Best Dance Event of 2019 and QC Nerve People’s Choice Award for Best Local Show of 2020. For more information visit sarahingel.com // @singelarity James Kopecky - Illinois (6th Season) Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, James grew up dancing at Dancenter North. He trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and musical theater. After high school, James studied at Butler University under Marek Cholewa, Susan McGuire, Derek Reid, Cynthia Pratt, Tong Wang, Stephan Laurent and Michelle Jarvis. In 2010, he graduated with a BFA in Dance and was offered an apprenticeship at Ballet San Jose under the artistic leadership of Dennis Nahat.

In his second season, James was promoted to Corps de Ballet. During his five years with Ballet San Jose, he was featured in a number of works including Paul Taylor’s Piazzolla Caldera, Twyla Tharp’s In The Upper Room and Jorma Elo’s Glow/Stop. Since arriving at Charlotte Ballet, James has enjoyed performing a number of pieces such as Alonzo King’s Map, Dwight Rhoden’s The Groove and Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tanzes.

CHOREOGRAPHERS AND ARTISTS, continued Sarah Lapointe - Maryland (6th Season) Sarah trained in various genres of dance from age 2 to 14 at Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts. She furthered training at Baltimore School for the Arts, and The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia, where she was offered a full scholarship to train under the direction of Bo and Stephanie Spassoff and graduated in 2015. She attended summer intensives with Bolshoi Ballet Academy and Chautauqua School of Dance, where she was awarded with the Artistic Director Award for Overall Excellence and Faculty Award for Technical Merit. Sarah was also recognized as a National YoungArts Foundation Dance Finalist (Ballet, 2015) and received a nomination for U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts semi-finalist. She has been a guest artist with The Washington Ballet in the history breaking performance of Swan Lake featuring Misty Copeland and Brooklyn Mack. At 18, she began her professional career with Charlotte Ballet.

Sarah was recognized in 2017 as Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.” During her professional dance career, she went on to continue her educational studies, and in 2020 graduated summa cum laude with honors from California Baptist University with a B.S in Kinesiology. Rees Launer - Idaho (2nd Season) Rees began his dance training with Ballet Idaho and Idaho Regional Ballet at age 12. He attended Walnut Hill School for the Arts for three years and graduated cum laude in 2016.

He went on to dance with The Joffrey Ballet’s trainee program and Studio Company. During his years in training, he attended numerous summer intensives including Netherlands Dance Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Arts Umbrella, Jacobs Pillow and The Royal Danish Ballet where he was awarded the Birger Bartholin Scholarship. Rees has been a guest artist for Peoria Ballet and Idaho Dance Theatre. He began his professional career with Charlotte Ballet in 2019.

Peter Mazurowski - New Hampshire (5th Season) Peter began dancing at age 6 at New Hampshire School of Ballet. At age 13, he landed the title role of Billy in Billy Elliot: the Musical on Broadway. Performing choreography by Tony Award winner Peter Darling, he also received ballet training from Francois Perron and Jeff Edwards. Peter played the role for a year and a half, staying until the show closed in 2012.

He continued his training at New Hampshire School of Ballet and Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater. He danced with Urbanity Dance as a junior apprentice, and trained for 2 years at Boston Ballet School before joining Charlotte Ballet in 2016. He has performed works by George Balanchine, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Javier de Frutos, Johan Inger, Sasha Janes, Alonzo King, Jiri Kylian, Stephanie Martinez, Ohad Naharin, Helen Pickett, Filipe Portugal, Dwight Rhoden, Jerome Robbins, Christian Spuck and Medhi Walerski.

Maurice Mouzon, Jr. - Maryland (5th Season) Maurice, a Baltimore native, was first introduced to dance at age 14 and started his formal training at Baltimore School for the Arts. After graduating, Maurice continued his dance training at Purchase College State University of New York. After completing a year at SUNY Purchase, Maurice joined Charlotte Ballet II. While in the second company, Maurice had the opportunity to dance the solo in Ohad Nahrin’s Minus 16, which lead to his promotion to the first company. Maurice has also performed works by Johan Inger, Filipe Portugal, Javier de Frutos, Brian Arias, Sasha Janes, Robyn Mineko Williams and Myles Thather. He attended summer intensives with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Miami City Ballet.

David Preciado - California (3rd Season) David began his dance training at the Los Angeles Ballet Academy under the direction of Andrea Paris. He then continued his training at the San Francisco Ballet School. While there, he performed with San Francisco Ballet in Helgi Tomasson’s The Nutcracker and in Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella. He also performed in Paris at the Gala des Écoles de Danse 2017 with the Paris Opera Ballet School and at the Assemblée Internationale 2017

with Canada’s National Ballet School. In 2018 David was promoted from Charlotte Ballet 2 to the first company. While at Charlotte ballet he has performed works by Jerome Robbins, Medhi Walerski, Sasha Janes, Peter Chu, Christian Spuck, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Helen Pickett, and Duane Cyrus.

Humberto Ramazzina - Brazil (2nd Season) Humberto was born in São Paulo, Brazil and started his classical ballet training at age 8.

In 2006, he started his tranning at The Escolar de Ballet Ines Amaral. In 2014 he move to United States to train at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, graduating after three years.

Amelia Sturt-Dilley - Colorado (6th Season) Amelia was raised in Colorado where she trained under Karen and David Samuelson. She received her high school education at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts under the direction of Michael Owen and Samuel Kurkjian. She then went on to receive her BFA from the Juilliard School. She has attended summer intensives at schools including The Nutmeg Conservatory, Washington School of Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin and The Paris Opera. While at Juilliard, Amelia danced in works by Monica Bill Barnes, Emery Le Crone, Darrell Grand Moultrie, William Forsythe, Twyla Tharp, Larry Keigwin, Merce Cunningham and Jessica Lange. She appeared in the 2015 Vail International Dance Festival where she performed Larry Keigwin’s Stormy Weather.

As a company member of Charlotte Ballet, she has been featured in works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Sasha Janes, Mark Diamond, David Ingram, Dwight Rhoden, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, George Balanchine, Javier de Frutos, Myles Thatcher, Robyn Mineko Williams, Bryan Arias and Filipe Portugal.

Andrés Trezevant - Nevada (1st Season) Andrés began his formal dance training at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts while also dancing with the Nevada Youth Dancer’s Company. He has attended intensives with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Nederlands Dans Theater, Chuthis. Moves, Movement Invention Project 2, the Rambert Intensive, and Springboard Dans Montreal. In 2017, Andrés was invited to join the Hubbard Street Professional Program under the direction of Alexander Wells. During his time there, he had the privilege of performing with the company in Peter Chu’s Space, In Perspective and Ohad Naharin’s Decadance/Chicago as a Guest Artist. Andrés joined Charlotte Ballet 2 in 2018, where he had the chance to perform the works of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Peter Chu, Mark Diamond, and Christian Spuck. In the summer of 2020, Andrès was promoted to the first company of the Ballet, and is excited for this next chapter.

Elizabeth Truell - South Carolina (7th Season) Elizabeth, a native of Columbia, SC, began her ballet training with Debra Bricker at the age of 3. She went on to study at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre at the age of 15. Elizabeth spent summers at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, The Harid Conservatory, Charlotte Ballet Academy and the Chautauqua Institution. Elizabeth was a member of Charlotte Ballet II for the 2013/2014 Season and was promoted to first company in 2014. During her time at Charlotte Ballet, she has performed in works by Jiří Kylián, Ohad Nahirin, Alonzo King, Johan Inger, George Balanchine and Helen Pickett.

Shaina Wire - New Jersey (5th Season) Shaina, from Sussex County, NJ, began her training at age 8 at Branchville Dance Centre. She was invited to attend the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, before returning to New York to attend The Joffrey Ballet School as a trainee. A year later, Shaina was invited to join the Joffrey Ballet Concert Group under the direction of Davis Robertson. She has performed principal roles in various ballets, including George Balanchine’s Serenade and Valse Fantaisie, and Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations, Light Rain, Kettentanz, Suite Saint-Saens and Viva Vivaldi. In 2013, she had the opportunity to perform at the Florence Dance Festival in Florence, Italy and The Beijing Dance Academy’s 60th anniversary in 2014. During her time at Charlotte Ballet, Shaina has performed various works by George Balanchine, Ohad Naharin, Bryan Arias, Helen Pickett, and Christian Spuck.

CHARLOTTE BALLET II DANCERS Juan Castellanos - Pennsylvania (1st Season) Juan’s dance training began in Dublin, Ireland, where he was born and continued in the U.S. at Metropolitan Ballet Academy in Jenkintown, PA, under the Direction of Lisa Collins Vidnovic.

As a member of their nationally acclaimed Boys’ scholarship Program, Juan’s 11 years of study there included access to many world-class teachers and the opportunity to perform a variety of principal roles including “Prince” in Cinderella (2018), “Bluebird Pas” in Sleeping Beauty (2017) and “Puck” in A Midsummer’s Night Dream (2016), as well as soloist and principal roles in contemporary works choreographed by Jessica Lang, Sarah Mettin and Kanji Segawa. His summer studies were with the Charlotte Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Next Generation Ballet in Tampa, Fl. From 2009-2019, Juan has also appeared in various Nutcracker roles including “Nutcracker Prince” (2019) with Charlotte Ballet, “Russian” with The Moscow Ballet (2016), “Nutcracker Prince” and “Soldier Doll” with The Wilmington Ballet (2013-14) and “Fritz” with The Pennsylvania Ballet (2009-12), touring to Canada with the Company in Nov.-Dec. 2011. Juan made his Metropolitan Opera debut in July 2011 with Russia’s Mariinsky Ballet dancing a children’s role in Anna Karenina for the Lincoln Center Festival and appeared as a guest artist with Juneau Dance Theater in Juneau, Alaska. Most recently, Juan was a member of the Pre-Professional Division with Charlotte Ballet.

Emerson Dayton - Pennsylvania (1st Season) Emerson grew up in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and began her ballet training at the age of six with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Emerson trained at CPYB for ten years and performed in George Balanchine’s Serenade for their 60th anniversary performance. Emerson spent a year with the San Francisco Ballet School and trained for two years with Charlotte Ballet’s Pre-Professional Division.

Tyler Diggs - Pennsylvania (1st Season) Tyler, raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, began his ballet training at age 7 at the Metropolitan Ballet Academy under the direction of Lisa Collins Vidnovic. With the help of their Boys’ Scholarship Program, Tyler studied classical ballet, as well as contemporary and modern dance, for almost 9 years, getting opportunities to perform in works created by Kanji Segawa, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Ashley Walton, Kate Skarpetowska, and Sarah Mettin. He also got the opportunity to compete in Youth America Grand Prix for four years under the coaching of Natalya Zeiger before receiving a scholarship in the NYC Finals to attend The HARID Conservatory in Boca Raton, FL in 2017. Tyler attended HARID for his junior and senior year, receiving instruction from faculty members Alexey Kulpin and Meelis Pakri and performing in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Raymonda.

After graduating from HARID in 2019, Tyler attended The Joffrey Academy of Dance’s Trainee Program on full scholarship for one year under the leadership of Raymond Rodriguez and, later, José Carayol.

There, he got to perform in George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, staged by Deborah Wingert, and had the opportunity to work with choreographers Yoshihisa Arai, Tsai-Hsi Hung, Chanel DaSilva, Durante Verzola, and Pablo Sanchez to create brand new ensemble works, before receiving an offer to join Charlotte Ballet II in 2020.

Alan Huerta - Mexico (1st Season) Alan Huerta, from Mexico City, started dancing at age of 13 at Ema Pulido Dance Studio and later on at the age of 15 he moved to Cordoba Veracruz to pursue a professional career at Fomento Artistico Cordobes (PROVER). He competed at the YAGP Semi-Finals México where he got a scholarship to Orlando Ballet School’s Summer Intensive in 2017. He went to the YAGP Final in NYC and performed “Bohemian Rhapsody” choreographed by Josue Rebollo. He also performed in 2018 at the “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow.” In the same year, he attended the summer intensive at Orlando Ballet and was offered to join Orlando Ballet’s Second Company where he attended for 2 years. During his time there he performed in Robert Hill’s Bolero, Arcadian Broad’s Wonderland, Robert Hill’s Requiem, Victoria Morgan’s Cinderella and had the opportunity to understudy Val Caniporeli’s Lambarena. Alan Huerta was also awarded a scholarship to the Ballet and Contemporary Program at Jacob’s Pillow for the summer of 2019 and performed in the inside out stage with choreography by Matthew Neenan.

Meredith Hwang - Maryland (1st Season) Meredith Hwang grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and trained at Metropolitan Ballet Theater and Academy. At age 16, she moved to Boston to train at the Boston Ballet School where she attended for three years and was a trainee for two years. She had the opportunity to perform in Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, George Balanchine’s Coppelia, and Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella with the company. She has attended summer intensives at Nashville Ballet, Carolina Ballet, School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet.

Anna Mains - Tennessee (1st Season) Anna Mains grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and began her training at age 8 with Centennial Youth Ballet. From 2016-2018, she danced as a Trainee with the Nashville Ballet. Anna attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, Houston Ballet, Arts Umbrella, and Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She was invited to join Joffrey Ballet’s Trainee program in 2018 and was promoted in 2019 to Joffrey Ballet’s Studio Company.

Zoë Ross Parker - North Carolina (1st Season) Zoë Ross Parker is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, and began training at age four at the Greensboro Ballet before being accepted into the UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program and later the High School Ballet program at UNCSA. While studying there, she trained under the primary direction of Jared Redick and privately with Nina Danilova. During her summers, she trained on scholarship at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. Zoë was the recipient of the ADC||IBC Jury Award, where she received the Mary Day Scholarship to study at the Washington Ballet School under Xiomara Reyes. She continued on as a Trainee for the 2018-2020 seasons under the direction of Julie Kent. Zoë’s repertoire includes John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Michel Fokine’s Les Sylphides, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker, and Julie Kent’s The Sleeping Beauty. Zoë received a direct entry award to study at the Royal Ballet summer program, and has danced there for two summers, as well as studied at the Dutch National Ballet summer school in collaboration with Studio Wayne McGregor. She has also learned Forsythe technique at the Art Of Zürich workshop, supported by William Forsythe.

Eric Stith - Virginia (1st Season) Eric Conrad Stith III was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Eric started training at the age of 7 at The Old Donations Center for the Gifted and Talented. He trained at The Governor’s School for the Arts for 4 years and also danced with Elevate Performing Arts Center for 3 years. While at The Governor’s School, he performed in works by Paul Taylor, Erick Hawkins, and original and staged works choreographed by teachers at The Governor’s School. Eric danced the role of Johnny in Paul Taylor’s Company B and Lucien in The Governor’s School production of Paquita. He played a major role in Richard Alston’s piece Arrived that was part of the film Dancing on the Shoulders of Giants in 2019 with WHRO. Eric has studied at three summer Intensives: Orlando Ballet School, The School of American Ballet, and Charlotte Ballet Summer Intensive. In Charlotte, Eric has done work with the community, such as performances with Elevation Church. He taught ballet at El Alma de la Luna Dance Academy. At Charlotte Ballet, he performed Donizetti Variations, choreographed by George Balanchine, staged by Patricia McBride, and contemporary work choreographed by Chris Stuart.
