Wrexham Glyndŵr University Careers and Employability Statement of Service Supporting students and graduates with careers & employability education, information, advice & guidance.

Our Standards All Careers & Employability professional support staff have specific expertise in their related areas including holding appropriate postgraduate qualifications in careers guidance. Many staff also hold other related professional qualifications such as teaching qualifications or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and continuously update their skills and knowledge. Career and Employability Education Throughout the year, we offer a range of Career Development Learning sessions within the curriculum as well as extra-curricular learning activity to encourage learners to develop lifelong career management skills as well as developing individual employment skills, which support applying for employment, volunteering opportunities, further study and through the GO Wales Programme, work experience opportunities. Employers and relevant organisations may also take part in these sessions ensuring the information we are giving is well-informed and appropriate.

Careers and Employability Advice and Guidance Bookable Advice and Guidance Appointments – Our Careers and Employability Advisers offer impartial one-to-one confidential appointments for careers guidance. You may book an appointment to discuss your future career, a forthcoming interview, your CV or any other careers-related topic of your choice. You can do that via WGUconnect https://students.glyndwr.ac.uk/home-2/careerscentre/wguconnect/ E-Guidance – Available via email careerscentre@glyndwr.ac.uk. We will reply within 3 working days. Please allow up to 5 working days for CVs and application checks. Due to demand for our services, we reserve the right to refuse further CV/ application checks if we feel you have been previously been given sufficient advice relating to the same CV/ application. Psychometric Services – A number of psychometric services are available online including: ability tests, a personality questionnaire, numerical skills, verbal skills and abstract reasoning skills tests. Following completion of these tests and questionnaires, the results can be discussed in detail with a BPS trained Careers and Employability Adviser. We recommend you speak to a Careers and Employability Adviser before taking psychometrics tests or questionnaires to check suitability.
