Global Techie Town, Bangalore, India

(Under construction, September 2018, GM Infinite Dwelling India Pvt. Ltd.) The proposed development consisted of two similar multi-storey residential towers on a plot of 26.62 Acres. The dwelling units are, 2 & 3 BHK, stylish apartments. Designed by FHD Group. Building using MIVAN technology meant planning for precision and efficiency to maintain the cost cutting benefits this technology allows. Constant monitoring by the technical team was a must to avoid costly mistakes and to keep project on scheduled timeline.

Role in this project : Oversaw all phases of project from design development through construction execution, Provided weekly updates to management, scheduled and set agenda for weekly meetings, conducted construction quality checks with a team. Co-ordinated with the architectural firm and consultants for design changes. Processed all the GFC’s for construction and implementation, attended weekly site visits to monitor progress.

Ambitious Enclave, Bangalore, India

(Under construction, September 2018, GM Infinite Dwelling India Pvt. Ltd.) The proposed development consisted of multi-storey residential towers on a plot of 10.62 Acres. The dwelling units are, 1, 2 & 3 BHK, affordable housing under the PMAY scheme. Designed by FHD Group. The high FAR meant high density of all amenities.

Open spaces were a premium, which got challenging when meeting fire authority approval. Graded site allowed for innovation with HVAC, STP and rain water harvesting systems.

Role in this project : Handled project approval requirements, Oversaw all phases of project from design development through construction approval, Provided weekly updates to management, scheduled and set agenda for weekly meetings, Co-ordinated with the architectural firm and consultants for design changes. Attended weekly site visits to monitor progress.

Elegance Towers, Bangalore, India

(Under construction, September 2018, GM Infinite Dwelling India Pvt. Ltd.) The proposed development consisted of two similar multi-storey residential towers on a plot of 5.9 Acres. The dwelling units are, 2 & 3 BHK, stylish apartments. Designed by FHD Group. Designing cost effective units without shared walls was a challenge. Plumbing, water supply, electricity supply and fire escapes had to be optimized for cost and efficiency. The height of the building was also restricted due to road width, which meant number of units were fixed and did not allow for additional units to increase profits.

GM Mall, Bangalore, India

(Under construction, September 2018, GM Infinite Dwelling India Pvt. Ltd.) The proposed mall sat on a 18.40 Acre plot, having a built-up area of 3,123,000SqFt. It is a dense development, making use of a small site area and provides a variety of amenities. It consisted of an MLCP, hotel complex and a multi-storey shopping complex. Designed by FHD Group. Obtaining all the approvals was a challenge as it was tight site with a wide variety of amenities.

Role in this project : Handled project approval requirements, Oversaw all phases of project from design development through construction execution, Provided weekly updates to management, scheduled and set agenda for weekly meetings, Co-ordinated with the architectural firm and consultants for design changes. Applied for project permits and in-charge of permit approvals.

Lennar Innovation Center, Fremont, CA, USA (April 2017, Dahlin Group, Pleasanton, CA, USA)

The project was in the proposal stage and undergoing design approval. It is a proposed marketing and sales office for the builder.

Role in this project : Calculating requirements and executing code analysis before approval, Finishes and exterior & interior specifications, Construction detailing, 3D modeling in revit & executing design changes per principal architect’s changes.

Washington Community Swim Center, Sunnyvale, CA, USA (Feburary 2012, Dahlin Group, Pleasanton, CA, USA) The project was in the proposal stage and undergoing design approval. Multiple public interactions and opinions were collected to finalize designs. Being a civic/community project, it was challenging to meet all the demands and requirements.

Role in this project : Calculating requirements and excecuting code analysis before approval, participating in the data collection from the end users, Plan approval drawings, 3D modeling in revit & executing design changes per principal architects changes.

Tracy Valley shopping Center, Tracy, CA, USA (December 2016, Dahlin Group, Pleasanton, CA, USA) The project was in the construction detailing stage and undergoing design detailing. It is a proposed renovation of the shopping center. Measure drawing the existing structure for changes was a big part of my role.

Role in this project : Calculating requirements , measure drawing existing building, Finishes and exteriror & interior specifications, Construction detailing, 3D modeling in revit & executing design changes per principal architect’s changes.

Bauhaus Dessau Museum, Dessau, Germany (June 2016, UO)

The terminal studio was given the task of proposing a museum design for the Bauhaus movement of art. The Bauhaus Dessau foundation called for design proposals for the museum design competition. The studio used the same competition brief and tailored the requirements to individual discretion. The site is situated in the Stadt park in downtown Dessau. The city wants to revive the park with this proposal.

The proposed design had the main gallery on the second level, whereas the ground level catered to educational activities and other public programs. The museum was envisioned to act as a public resource center even when the art viewing areas were closed off.

Complesso Galleria Per Vicenza, Vicenza, Italy (April 2015, UO)

The palladian basillica building is a cherished monument in Vicenza. It represents their rich culture and heritage and currently displays art in its double height space.

An ancillary building is needed to support it’s functions and also act as an urban intervention to repair the ill-used Piazza Biade. The shape of the building plays an important role in keeping the two piazza’s intact.

Site planning axes

Though the square has a strong historical presence, it allowed for modern interpretation through material usage and shapes. The bold use of circular windows and colonnaded arch entry way was inspired by the adjacent building. The glass railing alludes to a reach towards the sky, thus drawing the eye upwards and acting like a delicate crown as compared to the basillica’s more rigid vaulted crown.

The sloped site allowed for a play with levels to meet all the requirements for a successful intervention. The wall section was structured to allow for natural light and views out into the Piazza Biade.

Brookings Recreational center re-development, Oregon (January 2015, UO)

The city of Brookings wanted to improve their recreational center and update the infrastructure.

The site already had a few amenities that needed to be integrated with the new design.

The site was a very challenging setup with a steep gradient and rain water drainage contours. Updating the ill-used city recreational center to meet the current code and use of cost effective materials to make the exterior more appealing were some of the challenges in this proposal. Budget for the construction was limited, so developmental phases was proposed to channel income to fund expansion.

The project itself was an urban intervention to make the center a popular gathering spot for the community and the city of Brookings. Being a public funded project meant taking a democratic system to finalize requirements and finalize on the concept and multiple iterations through design reviews.

The final proposal was the development of the center in three phases, with the gym and natatorium coming in at phase one and generating income through rentals and membership. All the materials and color scheme used were in line with the surrounding environment’s theme. Thus not clashing or standing out awkwardly.

Mr. Rama Reddy’s House, Bangalore, India (September 2013, construction complete, Freelance Job)

The project construction is completed and interior finishes are in the process of completion. This is also a house designed for an upper middle class family which owns a plot of 60’x40’. They required a 3BHK house which was ultimately meant to be their retirement home.

PMAY Row Housing, Bangalore, India (March 2018, Freelance job)

The project is a proposed row house development for central govt. health employees, spearheaded by CGHEH Society. These are some examples of the houses that would be proposed on a 30X40 plots and would benefit from the PMAY scheme. These would be low budget houses for middle income groups in the suburbs of Bangalore city.
