POSITION Sawmill Shift Supervisor
WORK LOCATION Forest Products Group - Chapleau, Ontario
POSITION OVERVIEW Managing, directing, coordinating and administering all shift activities to obtain optimum safety, productivity, quality, efficiency and economy of operations while maintaining or decreasing costs.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES • • • • •
Manage the manufacturing processes, systems, maintenance activities and employees on shift to meet production schedules. Supervise, coach, motivate employees to achieve maximum performance. Perform all shift administrative duties (reports - production-maintenance, timesheets. accident, performance, training,vacation and work scheduling, etc.) Recommend changes to improve production methods, equipment performance, working conditions, and quality of product to increase efficiency of the shift and department. Ensure employees work within Company Rules. Regulations, Policies and Procedures and work m compliance with all Health. Safety and Environmental Laws.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE • This position reports to the Production Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS • • • •
Education: College Degree Related Experience: 3-5 years Bilingualism: Asset Meet the requirements on aptitude tests: VR+NA 50th percentile. Abstract Reasoning 60th percentile. Mechanical Reasoning 50th percentile and Space Relations 50th percentile
