PutraLink is a proposed UPM student centre that replaces the UPM Vice Chancellor's Official Residence, which was once used as an architecture studio, music centre and alumni centre, now sits abandoned and poorly maintained at Jalan Alumni UPM, having failed to thrive despite multiple attempts at adaptation. The project serves as a solution to enhance both the building’s facilities and the use of the surrounding land as well as the well-being of UPM students.
PutraLink is a new landmark and icon that managed by UPM student that realises a 24-hour student centre at Jalan Alumni UPM for UPM students, aiming to encourage UPM students to revisit the new facility, regain student power and freedom, and revitalise their lifestyle and informal learning experience through a new linkage with multiple accesses relating the proposed site with surrounding residential colleges FBMK and PKU, simultaneously redefining the proposed building and land with nature.
Design Concept: Reclamation
The REALISATION of iconic student-operated student centre
Generally, the definition of reclamation can be divided into two:
1. the process of claiming something back or of reasserting a right
2. the cultivation of waste land or land formerly under water
In PutraLink context, the reclamation refers to:
1. the process of claiming student power and freedom back to revitalise UPM student lifestyle and informal learning experience
2. the extension of proposed site through a new linkage to surrounding residential colleges (Kolej Chanselor, Kolej Serempun, KTDI and KTAG), FBMK and PKU

As the world emerges into the endemic stage of COVID-19, Vans Corporate Retreat Centre focuses on reviving the corporate workforce motivation which has been affected by the pandemic. The project explores the opportunities to develop a creative, innovative and motivational Vans Corporate Retreat Centre with social interactions spaces, located in the city of Malacca.
Vansture is a corporate retreat center in Malacca City, designed for young and less individualistic Vans employees, offering a two-day development venture from Thursday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, aimed at fostering the 'Off The Wall' spirit by introducing street sport-centric spaces and street culture programmes created through the possible function of form and space, which emerges from the superimposition of objects, movement, and events to produce an adventurous environment where employees can reconnect with their individuality and embody the Vans ethos.
Despite working at Vans, some employees may struggle to embody the 'Off The Wall' spirit in their work, creating a need for a space that ignites their creativity, audacity, and self-expression, ultimately bringing the brand’s ethos to life in their daily tasks.
"For us “Off The Wall” is a state of mind, thinking differently, embracing creative self-expression and really paving your own path and that idea has transcended borders. Creative expression across music, art, action sports or street culture is a universal language so when Vans shows up you just know."
(April Vitkus, Senior Director of Global Brand Marketing, 2016)
Rebellion introduces affordance, creating rebellious form and space that offer possible function for users, resulting in street sport-centric spaces and street culture programmes designed to revolutionise Vans employees into rebels who challenge the 'status quo' and celebrate self-expression and individualism, in alignment with the Vans ethos. These rebellious form and space emerge from the transcipt of the relationship between objects, movements and events, addressing the disjunction between spaces and their uses, ultimately achieving a Promenade Architecturale.

Station 17 - ITT Gombak | Ancillary Building - EMU Yard & Staff Quarter Stage: Construction
East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) is a standard-gauge double-track railway connecting Port Klang on the Straits of Malacca to Kota Bharu in northeast Peninsular Malaysia, linking the East Coast Economic Region states of Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan with each other and the Central Region on the Peninsula's west coast. The project This project was my primary involvement as an assistant architect at VERITAS Architects, where I contributed by assisting in the production of drawing and 3D modelling, including but not limited to stations such as Station 17 - ITT Gombak, as well as ancillary buildings like the EMU Yard and Staff Quarter.
Pattern 1 (1x1 grid)
The design uses the three main colours of the ECRL, incorporates polygonal shapes derived from the skylight forms of ITT Gombak Station, and employs the asymmetrical balance design principle, forming two 1x1 grid patterns in a 600x600 dimension.
TThe asymmetrical balance design principle is applied by utilising Pattern 1, where the left column features beige-light grey tiles, the right column features beigedark grey tiles, and the bottom-right tile is rotated 90 degrees clockwise, forming a 2x2 grid pattern in a 1200x1200 dimension.
Pattern 3 (4x4 grid)
The symmetrical balance design principle is applied by mirroring the Pattern 2 both horizontally and vertically, resulting in a harmonious and cohesive 4x4 grid where repeated elements are perfectly balanced across all axes, leading a 4x4 grid pattern in a 2400x2400 dimension.
The scale design principle is applied by resize proportionally Pattern 4 to fit seamlessly within the 9600x28800 waiting area on the concourse floor, ultimately producing in the creation of five distinct types of 600x600 floor tiles.
Pattern 4 (4x12 grid)
The repetition design principle is used to create the 4x12 grid by vertically aligning multiple iterations of the Pattern 3, achieving a continuous and rhythmic sequence that emphasises length and linearity, resulting a 4x4 grid pattern in a 2400x7200 dimension.
