VIEW BEING BLOCKED BUT MORE INTRIGUING
BACKGROUND
Maqun transfer station will be a NEW GATEWAY of Nanjing -- three traffic lines are planed to be terminated at Maqun. People from other cities by intercity railway will transfer to other vehicles here to get to the center of Nanjing.
We would still feel the existence of the broad natural space behind the wall.
CONCEPT FOR PASSANGERS The Purple Mountain, a symbol of Nanjing, is on the northwest of Maqun Station. In order to make scenary of the Purple Mountain more intriguing to passangers, I raised volumes, leaving narrow space to give the passengers an intermittent view of the mountain. FOR PEDESTRIANS Three pathways perpendicular to the three view corridors would benefit the large number of people from the surrounding dense residential areas. Thus, when pedestrians are walking on the pathways, they could also get an intermittent view of the mountain.
