Small Businesses Drive the Economy
Simply put, small businesses fuel the American economy. They are a vital component of our economic ecosystem as they employ almost half of our country’s workforce.
According the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Center, here are some statistics:

• 99.9% of the businesses in the U.S. are small businesses, that is 33.2 Million Small Businesses
• Small Businesses account for roughly 40% of the U.S.’s gross domestic output (GDP)
• In 2014, small businesses generated $5.9 trillion where as large businesses generate $7.7 trillion to the national GDP

• 1 in 5 small business owners are owned by racial minorities, with Hispanics making up a large portion of that number
• Maricopa County received 115,670 new business applications in 2022
