CASA MATHO residential - soft renovation private
home
project
This private apartment in Zermatt is undergoing a gentle renovation. The project is currently underway. The kitchen has been laminated and has a new design; the bathroom base units and a decorative wall in the hallway of the apartment have also been laminated. Some built-in work is planned for this apartment, as well as a bookcase in the living room, a kitchen extension, a wardrobe in the hallway and several built-in wardrobes in the rooms including a reduit.
design proposal
Comfort and modernity in the middle of a mountain village. The choice of colors fell on bright, warm tones with a little twist in the accessories. The built-in work is made of oak wood, which gives this light-flooded apartment warmth and security. Polished chrome enhances the appearance and provides a great contrast to the wood. White textiles bring freshness to the design and provide a calm base for a few colorful accessories. Design elements such as the Tulip collection from Knoll or the Cornet bar stools from Hay are a joy to behold and give the whole a classic look.

LUHA WOOD commercial - carpentry
project brief
The young company LUHA Wood, a joinery from Zurich, needed a new concept and visualizations for the renovation of their workshop, which was to be newly occupied at the time. I was able to support David and Lorenz with design decisions, provide input and, above all, visualize their ideas and concepts. LUHA Wood already had a strong presence, so many of the design basics were already in place, but it was still a great process to reflect their online and print presence in the workshop. The project was then implemented by the boys themselves.
design proposal skills
The basis for the design of the workshop was the company’s branding guideline. The workshop was to present the brand, but also the two personalities. The workshop is also a showroom and should immediately appeal to customers. It was therefore obvious to design a reception area that would offer customers their first impressions as soon as they entered the workshop. It was important to the guys to give customers a warm welcome and to be able to hold meetings virtually in the middle of the workshop. The challenge with this project was definitely the fact that the reception area, kitchen and toilet are in or directly adjacent to the main workshop. It was therefore necessary to create a visual separation from the rest of the huge space.

I was allowed to make design proposals for two bathrooms for an apartment. It was a large family bathroom and a small bathroom. The main task was to draw the bathrooms and present visual proposals. The materials, fittings etc. were also selected together. The client did the remodeling himself.
design proposal
A simple, sustainable design was desired. As this is a rental apartment, it was important to use easy-care and robust materials. The bathrooms also needed to be modern, bright and appealing. Neither bathroom has any natural light, so the choice of materials was all the more important. The beautiful stone slabs in mottled gray and large cut give the bathroom clear lines and a modern appearance. The fittings in polished metal together with matt white are simple and sustainable.

CASA HÜÖBLI
commercial - longterm rentals
project brief
I was consulted by Charlene Müller (Studio May) for this project. We studied together and were able to realize this project for WOW Living. It involved six apartments that had to be designed and furnished for long-term rentals. The challenge of this project was definitely the budget. The motto was to design functional and inviting apartments with as little budget as possible. The apartments were renovated and we were responsible for the furnishings, including lighting and electronics. This project was a major challenge, so we are all the more pleased that the apartments are always rented and that our concept works.
design proposal skills
We have focussed the design on simplicity and functionality. The flats are rented for 6-12 months at a time and need to work for workers and families alike. We wanted a design that included modular systems, separable beds and rooms that could function as guest rooms, children’s rooms or offices. We opted for an upbeat, fresh design with darker colours. The flats contain everything you need for living and yet have a certain personality to make you feel at home in no time at all.

The brief for this project is to design a flat for the Covey family. The flat is located in the Verdun neighbourhood of Montreal, Canada. Verdun is a vibrant neighbourhood in the city. It offers a number of places to eat and socialise. The neighbourhood is home to both French and English speaking residents. There are some green spaces, including along the waterfront of the St. Lawrence River. In recent years, Verdun has undergone a transformation from a working-class neighbourhood to a hip residential neighbourhood for young innovative people and has even been named one of Montreal’s most desirable neighbourhoods.
The interior style will pay homage to the family’s uniqueness and authenticity. A key element of the design will be diversity, which is an important component in one’s home. The Covey home will be personal, authentic and functional.
design proposal
A home is always about the people who live and love in it. Through my research I got to know the Covey family and their dynamics, this was very important to understand how they will use their home. The family are active and travel a lot, so it was essential to focus on the feeling of ‘coming home’. A place they return to again and again and that reflects their personality - a place full of authenticity.
The family likes to spend a lot of time together, but everyone also likes to be on their own. Ezra is still small and is unlikely to remain an only child. The challenge was to create a layout with flexibility, offering communal spaces, but also spaces where people can withdraw. It also has to offer functionality and flexibility in the use of the rooms. Certain rooms may have a different function at a later date than they have now.

Essex Wildlife Trust is a leading conservation charity, committed to protecting wildlife and inspiring a lifelong love of nature. They manage nature reserves and discovery parks across the Essex county, while providing outdoor education and preserving places of wonder. For this project it was necessary to create a creative but budget-concisous design for the interior of the Centre in a way that responds to the needs of the charity, its members and other users, and represents and communicates the values and aspirations of Essex Wildlife Trust.
design proposal
A design that is not only budget conscious but also representes and communicates the values and aspirations of the Essex Wildlife Trust by using sustainable materials. The final design also features bespoke shelving systems.

For this project I was asked to design a coworking space for three creative businesses: Pearlfisher, Jammycustard and Event Concept. The idea behind the coworking is to create a space where these businesses can interact, connect and share the benefits of coworking. The coworking space is located in the heart of Brixton, London. A very vibrant and lively district which belongs to London Borough of Lambeth.
design proposal
The main objective is to create a space which incorporates:
... a space that allows insight and inspiration by working in close proximity with creative peers.
... a space that fulfills the specific needs and environments of the clients distinct working styles including their areas of interest in a creative way.
... a space that considers the future of workplace design and how the current Covid-19 pandemic may effect this.
The result is an individual, dynamic and environmentally friendly coworking office space with an emphasis on geometric and asymmetric elements. Those elements contrast with the casual and relaxed feeling transmitted by a simple muted colour scheme and a combination of reclaimed and close to nature materials.
ndividualism and dynamics, that was the main idea behind the Push Dynamics - Keep Individualism concept election: to design a harmonious space where strong geometric elements could come together to communicate a connection between individuals which once put together form new dynamics.

A thorough design solution for a bespoke reception desk detailing all proposed materials, their construction and other joints and design details. Present as a final design solution in a detailed working drawings package. Sustainability a key influence for the final material specifications.
design proposal
The reception desk is a focal point when entering an entrance hall, so the design should be inviting and inspiring. It is the pivot and turning point of a company and must, therefore be designed as a functional and user-friendly workplace.
Oak was very consciously chosen as one of the primary materials beside Durat, the material convinces with its simple, robust appearance and radiates warmth. Oak is a very sustainable material that brings nature into interiors. The treatment with wood oil gives the surface a velvety finish and makes it more durable. The selected oak has a light, very natural colour.
Durat panels were used for the higher countertop and the front of the central lower part of the reception counter. The geometric elements on the front plate are also made of Durat panels.

BEARDS & DAISIES
commercial - pop up stand
project brief
Design a pop-up stand which represents the brand values of beards & daisies; a houseplant supplier. They aim to make getting plants and loving them made easy. Therefore they offer various solutions to make this happen; plant subscriptions, information about plants and their care and accessories. The pop-up will be placed in a market, outdoor or indoor.
design proposal
As an online company, they are not able to meet their customers in person. Beards & Daisies is passionate about plants. They aim to make people love plants as much as they do and convince them of the well-being factors of houseplants. ‚Connection’ can be visualised in many different ways. In architecture, playing with forms and shapes is probably the most common. Words like join, twist, merge, interlock, embed and overlap were explored in combination with organic and angular forms. The combination of organic and angular lead back to the keyword connection.
The idea to show the connection between angular and organic with the design seems to make sense. Beards & Daisies brings nature inside. This act can be seen in the final design. Inside the pop-up, the layout is adapted to the wild growth of leaves and presented exclusively with organic forms.

CASA WINTER
residential - family home
project brief
Design a 4-bedroom, detached property on Maine Parade in Byron Bay, on the East Coast of Australie for the Winters family. The Winters family exists of Ruth and David both photographers, their twin sons Patrick and Rupert 8 years old and their pet dog Max. The Winters are keen surfers, entertainers, and they love to go on long walks, enjoy cooking and baking.
design proposal
The design focusses on their active way of living and their feeling for aesthetics coming from their profession as photographers. With a selection of natural materials and textures in a neutral, warm colour palette and matte finishes mixed with fresh and bright colour accents I managed to bring the Byron Bay-vibe into their home. The overall living experience is relaxed and focuses on family life with a touch of calmness.
