WALLS
The walls of your home can transform your space with the help of some paint or wallpaper. But should you paint them, or should you wallpaper them? There are many pros and cons to both. Some factors to consider are cost and ease of application. .Preparing your walls for either also needs to be taken into account. Stripping existing wallpaper is a task no one enjoys and can be both tedious and time consuming. Applying paint to a darker wall can also take time, although using a primer paint will make preparation easier.

you can always wipe the emulsion off with a damp cloth. Paint one wall at a time. Using the brush first, paint a border around the whole wall, ceiling, skirting and corners, leaving a rough edge on the inside before painting the wall with the roller, overlapping the previously painted borders. As in all decoration, good preparation is vital, sanding down the walls and using a primer paint if there is a significant colour change or the walls are newly plastered. Also take out as much furniture as possible and cover anything left behind as well as your carpet, you'll be surprised where those splashes can get to. Wallpapering is trickier but if you are ready for the challenge it can also be
the solution to hide a multitude of sins. To do it well, you will need tools (table, trimming knife, sponges, brush, etc...) and again your local store will advise you on what to buy and do. Preparation is again key. Perfectly clean walls are a must, so be ready to sand, sugar soap and spend some time getting them fuly prepared before you begin. Professional decorators are an option many people choose. With our busy lifestyles many of us simply don't have the time. Also, some of us can turn our hand to anything, to others, DIY can be quite daunting. Ask in your local painting and decorating store, they should be able to recommend someone and you may be surprised at how reasonable professionals can be.
Painting is both easier and generally less expensive to wallpapering. It also requires less preparation time. That said, your walls need be pretty perfect. A new coat of paint can highlight every blemish and if that worries you, then you need to decide as to whether you will use a liner (smoothing over defects) or forget it altogether. If you are going to paint, here's how to do it best: Buy a good quality roller and a 2" brush. At this stage, don't worry too much about getting the lines straight,
