Chaminade College Preparatory School, an independent, Catholic Day and Resident school for grades 6th-12th, is sponsored by the Marianist Province of the United States. The strength of a man’s character comes from the integrity of his foundation. Ours is built on faith.
As a Catholic, Marianist school, we welcome young men of all faiths and backgrounds. All students:
- enroll in Theology Class
- attend Mass and Retreats
- engage in Service Work
- participate in House Prayer Services
Gathering as a community and giving students time for reflection is essential to helping them further their spiritual growth to develop their own sense of integrity.

NURTURING CREATIVITY
The mission of Chaminade’s Fine Arts Department is to cultivate a life-long appreciation and understanding of the arts and to value aesthetics in everyday life through a variety of disciplines. The faculty strives to find and nurture the God-given gifts present in all students with:
• Award-winning band program with symphonic bands, jazz combos, percussion, and pep bands.

Chaminade stands out by offering more than 110 different Advanced College Credit courses, one of the highest in the region. Over 80% of our graduates leave Chaminade with over 40 credit hours, putting them far ahead of their peers.
• Visual Arts Department offering painting, drawing, sculpting, sketching, and photography in a world-renowned arts facility.
• Drama Department with four main stage productions yearly.
• Students can learn lighting, sound, scenery, production design, costume design, and stage management.

Chaminade’s renowned House System has been furthering the mission of the school for over 20 years by helping to develop Marianist leaders among the students. The House System provides a vehicle for pastoral care for our students and strengthens the school community, all while developing relationships across grade levels.

Our primary goal is to foster a community through which our young men encounter a variety of experiences that invites them to deepen their personal faith and spirituality. Inspired by Blessed William Joseph Chaminade who believed,
“Communities of faith were the natural embodiment of a vibrant Christianity.”
Integral to our students’ education is active engagement in service opportunities. Whether leading the soccer team for TASK (team activities for special kids) during our annual soccer match or preparing breakfast at Fr. Dempsey’s Saturday morning breakfast, our young men make a difference. By the time our students graduate, their class has dedicated over 10,000 hours to serving others.

Our students engage in a strategically designed curriculum to ensure they are fully prepared to take on an ever-changing world. Nurturing individuality, yet understanding the differences of others is central to the Chaminade philosophy. By engaging in a variety of sports and clubs at Chaminade, our students foster new interests and new relationships.
EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION
At Chaminade, we believe in empowering students to explore the world. Each year, every student participates in our grade level Experiential Education curriculum, taking learning beyond the classroom – from hiking the Grand Tetons to retracing the Underground Railroad. In addition, there are a myriad of immersion trips and service trips – from building houses in El Salvador to touring Melbourne, Australia.
Boarding at Chaminade
Founded in 1910 as a boarding school, Chaminade continues its tradition of welcoming students from 10 states, 21 countries, and 5 continents to the convenient location of St. Louis, Missouri. The Resident Program fosters cultural diversity within our classroom and provides our students with:
• Academic Support, including Test Prep, Tutoring, Advisors, and ESL assistance.
• Enjoyable weekend activities (go-carts, rock climbing, fishing, and sporting events)
• A delightful culinary experience, as a professional caterer provides delicious meals and snacks.
