BOARD CHAIR LETTER
Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends of Chaminade, Father Ralph sometimes uses the word “Interesting” to describe challenging situations. 2020 has been interesting to say the least! The global pandemic has proven to be one of the biggest challenges that Chaminade has ever had to overcome. The Board of Trustees could not be more proud of our President, Father Ralph Siefert, the school's administration, the faculty and staff. This great team has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of our young men while still delivering a world-class Catholic Marianist Education. To determine the best possible path to reopening, the Chaminade Task Force was formed in June 2020. It was composed of 13 committees consisting of medical doctors, faculty, parents and friends. As a result of these efforts, I sincerely feel that Chaminade is a leading school in the area of dealing with the pandemic. Our success was not an accident! The Chaminade Magic has been the culture and attitude of the students and families. It is a complete team effort. Although the primary focus has been on the pandemic, we have continued to work toward making Father Ralph's vision of transforming Chaminade with the Vision 2020 plan. It will touch all aspects of our institution. There will be exciting announcements made in 2021. The next major focus is on the Global Reach program with a new Residence Hall. There are other components that will focus on STEM, Athletics, and our Endowment. Stay tuned! The entire Chaminade Community knows how to deal with “Interesting”! Thank you on behalf of the entire Board of Trustees. Sincerely,
John Eilermann, Jr. '82 Chairman, Board of Trustees 22 | Esto Vir Magazine, Fall 2020
