Weeks after released their new album, Cure, ERRA embarked on a North American tour, which will end in early June On April 26th, they stopped in Nashville, TN with Novelists, Void Of Vision, and Make Them Suffer

French metalcore band Novelists opened the night. They had a short but powerful set which got the crowd moving early on, the room filling early for people wanting to catch their set

Vocalist Camille Contreras is an absolute powerhouse who moves beautifully on stage and makes for a fun watch

Void Of Vision, all the way from Sweden and not for the first time took the stage next, performing a heavy set that started mosh pits in the crowd and inspired a few crowd surfers

Vocalist Jack Bergin directed the audience to move and put a ton of energy into his performance, with the band headbanging and moving along with him. As expected, they are an entertaining watch

Make Them Suffer

Australian metalcore band Make Them Suffer started off their set with one of their popular songs Ghost Of Me, which has amassed over twelve million streams on Spotify alone. Singer Alex Reade has an absolutely stunning voice and her keyboard adds a level of fun to the band Her voice perfectly pairs with screamer Sean Harmanis. The band’s heavy sound inspired crowd surfing so early on, they had to move photographers out of the photo pit for safety. Their lights during the rest of their set were mesmerizing.

ERRA closed out the night with an impressive fifteen-song set, opening on the song Cure, the title of their album released in early April They brought the heavy early on, crowd surfers flooding the pit immediately Most of their setlist, as expected, was filled with songs off Cure, but they made sure to span back thirteen years to their first release, Impulse. ERRA put on one of the wildest, heaviest shows I have ever seen at Brooklyn Bowl, and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow over the years

Of Virtue

Swedish metalcore band Imminence recently embarked on their first US tour After massive success with the earlier dates, they announced the From Sweden With Love Spring North American tour They started in Texas in April, and will end at Sonic Temple Festival in May On May 8th, the tour stopped in Nashville, TN with Of Virtue and Catch Your Breath.

Of Virtue opened the night to a rambunctious Nashville crowd who made their love for the band well known Between people sitting on other people’s shoulders, the bands high energy, the several mosh pits that broke out, and the vocalist Tyler Ennis crowd surfing, their set was one to remember They were the perfect opener to hype the crowd

Catch Your Breath are a band that has been rapidly growing since their hit Dial Tone went viral. After having to perform instrument only a few times several days prior, the crowd was happy to see they were back with their vocalist and that he was doing well Bassist Cianan Madigan and current fill-in touring bassist Logan Abernathy are full of mesmerizing energy on stage Vocalist Josh Mowery has beautiful vocals that capture your attention in all their songs

Of Virtue Of Virtue

Imminence had fans screaming for them to take the stage for several minutes prior to their performance starting Once they did, things got rowdy in the best way possible Fans went wild while watching the band perform in Nashville for the first time The entire room was full, front to back Fans sang lyrics, moshed, and moved nonstop. The love from the crowd was evident from start to finish.

Vocalist and violinist Eddie Berg impressively switches from vocals to beautifully playing the violin, creating Imminence’s unique signature sound. They put on a wonderful performance that cemented everyone’s love for the band, and we can’t wait to see them again.

THE DEATHLESS TOUR FILLS NASHVILLE’S

BROOKLYN BOWL

Set It Off’s The Deathless Tour hit Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on April 29th The band was joined by Deathbyromy, Caskets, and Crown The Empire

Deathbyromy was the first band to open the night. As expected, they took us on one hell of an adventure. Despite being newer to touring, you’d never guess with the band’s powerhouse performance They are incredible live, fun to watch, and constantly interact with each other to bring more entertainment to their performance Vocalist Romy Flores, who took on the name Deathbyromy years ago, has a stunning voice.

After having visa issues that made them miss a few early dates of the tour, we were glad Caskets managed to join the tour and make it to Nashville’s date Caskets is a metalcore band from the UK that is rapidly growing in the scene Seeing them live, you’ll understand why. They’re incredible to watch and a band to watch out for.

Crown The Empire had a short but memorable set spanning over a decade of their career They dedicated their 2012 hit, The Fallout, to longtime fans The band has been touring almost as long as they’ve been making music, and they’ve always been fun to watch. Vocalist Andy Leo is energetic, with a beautiful, unique voice While their music has changed a bit over the years, they’ve never strayed far from their original sound and have always put out incredible songs

It Off

Fans went wild the minute Set It Off took the stage. The band has been touring a lot throughout the past few years, and each time, they’ve managed to create an entirely different feel to their set Everything from their outfits to their setlist and stage design is perfectly coordinated to convey their message and sound in an impressive way They always manage to surprise fans, and this show was no different. This time, vocalist Cody Carson brought out friend and RIVALS vocalist Kalie Wolfe to join them for their song Partner In Crime A few songs later, during Ancient History, Cody managed to crowd surf on an inflatable raft with a fan He is known for joining the crowd during their set, which is part of what makes them such an entertaining band to watch.

ORGY CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF CANDYASS IN

I Ya Toyah

KNOXVILLE

When Cold and Orgy announced a co-headliner that would be traveling through Knoxville, TN, I knew I had to make the drive Joined by I Ya Toyah and Horizon Theory, the trip was worth it

I Ya Toyah started the night off with her powerful industrial rock sound, perfect for opening a tour that included Orgy. A one-woman show, she puts on one hell of a performance, including a matching light show You could tell how influential she was by how many fans in the crowd had emulated her style and look It’s clear when she takes the stage that she’s a genrebending icon.

Horizon Theory made it clear during their set that they were another perfect fit for the rock tour With unique vocals and a signature rock sound, they were a solid opener with great music that blends well with the music of Cold, who took the stage after them

Cold played an hour-long set that perfectly highlighted fan favorites throughout their lengthy career Fans were moving and energized for their set, filling up the room with eager fans while they performed Vocalist Scooter Ward did a phenomenal job His signature voice has always been perfect for their music and has set them apart from other bands from their time, and his voice is still magnificent Fans went crazy when they performed their most popular hit Stupid Girl

HIDDEN SCARS

I read this book after someone posted about it in one of my Facebook groups, and I’m forever thankful I saw the post. Hidden Scars was the most plot-heavy book I read in a long time, and I loved it. That says a lot about it. Preston has become accustomed to being abused by his father, and in return, is cold and hateful He hates no one more than his roommate, Jeremy, but there’s also mutual attraction

love books that can successfully blur the line between lust and hate, and Andi Jaxon perfected the formula. She made me feel the tension and angst between the main characters, and had me root for them. While Preston is initially a character I hated, I quickly understood him and rooted for him even when others didn’t.

Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster when you read this book.

Book Review

THE HEIR’S DISGRACE

august jones

The Heir’s Disgrace was recommended to me when I was searching for a book that involved hate sex, and a lot of it. And it did not disappoint August Jones does an incredible job at making you feel the hate and the attraction between the characters.

Drew is a doorman at an apartment building and Olivier is a penthouse tenant They hate each other. Olivier is entitled. He makes Drew bring his packages upstairs to him each morning On one of the mornings, they end up physically fighting, and it quickly turns sexual.

Olivier has a kink for being hurt. Drew likes to hurt him They’re a perfect match with their sexual chemistry and kinks. The problem? Olivier is set to be engaged to a socialite to fix his family’s reputation. And Drew doesn’t like him anyways, right? So why can’t he stop visiting him?

The Heir’s Disgrace is a high angst, high smut novel that perfectly balances wild, hot, kinky sex with romantic love and the struggle to overcome obstacles such a pay class and familial obligations. The ending is worth the hardship

warning: bullying

BE MINE, CRUEL VALENTINES

brea alepou

Be Mine, Cruel Valentines is a wild ride despite being a fairly short read It opens with the four main characters in the past, showing the relationship between the bullied and his three bullies. Then, it fast-forwards to college, where they’re all at the same school. The bullied kid, Ramsey, has intentional run-ins with the three bullies: Theon, Leyton, and Foxyn. You’d think he went after them for revenge, but he wanted them to bully him again. Ramsey is a bit of a psychopath who will do anything to get his men, and hurt anyone who stands in his way

This book features bullying, but the bullied character likes it and makes it clear Humiliation is a major theme of the book, too, therefore, it isn’t a good match for people uninterested in the kink.

Since it quickly gets to the action and doesn’t have a bunch of filler content, Be Mine, Cruel Valentines is an easy, fun, quick read I wasn’t sure if I’d be into the humiliation aspect until I read this book, and now I’m craving more.

ALWAYS HIM

cora

rose

Always Him was my first friends-to-lovers MM romance read While I’m not a fan of this trope in MF, in MM it worked really well for me. Landon and Finn have been best friends for ages, and feelings start to develop after they share a kiss. Landon is also an amputee, and Finn cares for him I loved the way caring for him ended up with little kisses and touches that showed their chemistry I did have a small problem with Finn having no personality at times, but I still enjoyed the book and the couple

Always Him is a standalone in an interconnected series The first book, Until Him, featured Landon’s brother. The author has a way of beautiful, spicy storytelling The book goes between current times and past times, showing how both of them felt all along, and how their relationship developed over time. Part of what makes their relationship work well is how much Finn takes care of Landon, to the point where he helps sexually care for him, too. It makes the progression from friends to lovers work well and transitions seamlessly. Everything by Cora Rose is worth reading, and this is no exception

Abigail was a fresh new face in the dark comedy genre of films. What started out as a band of criminals stealing a young girl with a rich father quickly became a wild ride when they realized she was no victim. Instead, young Abigail showcased her true identity as a vampire.

Learning the identity of her rich, criminal father, some in the group try to flee, and then instead become trapped in a mansion with a vampire.

ABIGAIL Movie Review

Joey, the kind-hearted criminal who wasn’t too eager to steal a child, is the only one the girl sees without a mask at first. They build a solid connection, until Joey learns her true identity

The movie blends horror and comedy together perfectly, keeping you laughing yet on your toes. The characters were well thought out and developed, bringing this perfectly unique story to life.

This was the last movie to feature Angus Cloud before he passed. Rest In Peace.

THE FALL GUY Movie Review

The Fall Guy was my first action-comedy of the year, and it was worth it. I went into the movie expecting little from it It looked like it might try too hard to be funny, but it didn’t. I left the theater happy and laughing

Ryan Gosling plays a stuntman, Colt Seavers, who is out of work due to an accident He returns to work on a new movie when his former fling, Jody, is working on her directorial debut. When he returns, he finds out from the producer that the star of the film, Tom Ryder, is missing

Since he’s the stuntman and not needed as much on set, the producer, Gale, sends him looking for Tom While looking for him, he has a run in with several bad guys, and is brought on one hell of an adventure

Ryan Gosling is perfect for the role of a silly, strong stuntman who barely manages to escape danger for two hours. He and costar Emily Blunt have great chemistry on screen The Fall Guy is effortlessly funny and a wild ride that is worth the trip to the theater to witness the effects on the big screen
