Spearline announce sponsorship of Skibbereen Rowing Club. Caroline Leonard, Senior Marketing Manager at Spearline, Lorraine McCarthy, Chief People and Culture Officer at Spearline, rowers Aoife Hendy and Tomás Burchill, Nuala Lupton, President at Skibbereen Rowing Club and Sean Murran, Chairperson at Skibbereen Rowing Club. Cork hoteliers hit the road for charity, Conor O’Toole General Manager of Clayton Hotel Cork City and Joe Kennedy General Manager of Maldron Hotel Shandon Cork, The ‘Great Dalata Cycle 2021’ in aid of CMRF Crumlin, wheeled out of Cork as part of their 1,100km journey throughout the island of Ireland which saw them visit a number of the Group’s Clayton and Maldron Hotels along the way. The route took them through Belfast, Derry, Sligo, Galway, Limerick and Cork before finishing in the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge, Dublin.

CONTRIBUTION TO JOURNALISM HONOURED. Maurice Gubbins, Editor of The Echo and EchoLive.ie was chosen as August Cork Person of the Month. An acknowledgment of his mentoring journalists and supporting and promoting Cork community volunteer groups and charities. The countdown to the Irish Greyhound Laurels, is underway. Greyhound Racing Ireland (GRI) Chairman Frank Nyhan, was joined by Jimmy Barry Murphy, in his role as Chairman of “Friends of Cork Greyhound Racing” and John Linehan greyhound trainer with Runninta Seeya, Winner of the 2020 Irish Greyhound Laurels Final for the launch at Curraheen Park Greyhound Stadium. The final scheduled for Saturday 23rd October. UCC President Prof John O’Halloran, UCC Student Sinéad Roche and Gallery Director, Fiona Kearney, in Glucksman gallery getting ready for the Art Library exhibition which runs as part of UCC Community Week: a programme of over 50 community focussed events hosted by UCC staff and students together with community and city partners.
