Freelance: Backyard Upgrade Proposal

Planting Upgrade of Residential Backyard Address: 23 Jalan Selanting, Singapore Design Proposal: Chai Xin Yi Client: Miss Joyce Lau Date: March 2021 The following proposal is an indicative suggestion for the site (8m x 2.7m). Further assessment of the existing conditions (by the landscape contractor/ quantity surveryor) would be helpful to determine if the proposed design ideas and plant palette are suitable.

Option A (first choice) - Simple design - Larger area for planting choices - Flat ramp walkaway for ease of maintenance on the upper deck

Option B (second choice) - Seating area is connected to a step - Lesser planting area for crops on the bottom right deck - Ramped walkway for maintenance path on the upper deck, this does not go all the way

Option C (draft idea) - Might be too many planter boxes - “Stepping” concept from entry to maintenance, standing on planter edge - Height variations can be more subtle, while making everything easier to maintain

Option D (draft idea) - Too many steps and hardscaping area - Boxed up planters restrict planting space for owner to be creative - Maintenance access can be improved
