ACHIEVEMENTS: He received BEST TEACHER AWARD FOR ENCOURAGING STUDENTS FOR TAKING THESIS PROJECTS ON SUSTAINABILITY BY A3 FOUNDATION, CHANDIGARH, Karnataka state council for science and technology-Commendation for Energy management by solar architecture in hot & humid climate and State level engineering students project exhibition award given by Bharatiya Vidya Parishat in 2008.

The best Green Initiative of the year given by Zuari infraworld India Ltd.-Credai Mysore in 2013 Best Innovative Stall at MY-BUILD expo Mysore in 2018 and the list goes on.

THE FIRM This firm doesn’t work only by an Principal architect though he is the head of the activities. It consists of AccountMs. Anita S , Mrs Suma, Junior architects Akshatha A S, Swati Pethkar , Senior architect Sanjay, Industry management Akshay C S, Drakshayini, Site engineer Yogesh sir(ex),site management Nataraj sir, Sanction Plan Joseph sir.

He started a firm name R-LEEF (Regional low energy and environmental friendly) which caters to people providing designing, construction management, interiors solutions and also factory products like ISMB, SMB, MCR tiles, paving blocks, C&D tile blocks etc.

He is a diploma Civil graduate AT CPC Govt Polytechnic, Mysurur with B Arch from Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan. Sir has worked as visiting faculty ad WCFA, Mysuru , training and performing seminar for engineering students, and conducting workshops for practical hands-on experience for young students to attract towards sustainable architecture.

Site is located 9 km from Mysuru city centre.

Address:-11th Cross Rd, Manchegowdana koppalu, Hebbal 2nd Stage, Ilavala Hobli, Karnataka 570016

HEBBAL

The construction was started after demolition of parapet wall and existing staircase.

Material were shifted using ladder.

Later for the access of ground to first floor GI folded plate Staircase was fitted The overhead tank was also demolished eventually.

The construction was slow due to lack is space for material and Construction debris were shifted to factories immediately.

ISMB wall 8” thick Near the Hebbal residence area locates a pre-existing building of load baring walls 20’ x 29’ site full built ground floor building. The client requirement was to renovate and build more floors over it.

The building is surrounded by all 3 sides hence the access to the building is only from the front which is east facing.

Also the available source for light and ventilation is from this east face.

The building was constructed with attached walls to the neighbour neglecting the MUDA regulations due to space constraints.

The ground floor renovation is kept for later according to client request to keep all their belongings intact since they are living nearby in small house.

TEMPLE RESTORATION LOCATION: Shri Kameshwara Temple, Kallambalu, kadajetti, Hullalli, Mysuru.

Shri Kameshwara Temple located on the banks of the river Nugu in Kallambalu Village HD Kotte Taluk Mysore District. This temple is estimated to be around eight hundred years old the super structure is at present buried in the soil to a depth of around five feet. The temple has been renovated once but the older folks in the village do not remember when and say it was during their elder’s time suggesting at least a hundred years back.

A stone inscription however suggests that the temple ‘Punarchetana’ was done in the year 1872 subsequent to which buttresses and iron clamps were put up to hold the temple falling apart from the vegetation grown profusely in and around the temple remanences of which are still present.

The village representatives have approached R-LEEF Architects and Consultants Mysore to conserve the temple and to bring back the temple to its past glory.

Architectural conservation Historical and design integrity of any built heritage or prolonged through carefully planned interventions. It’s the act of conserving or keeping from change, loss, injury etc.

Need for architectural conservation: Historical and cultural continuity are the evidences for the evolution of human conscious.

History serves as a laboratory and the past serves as a demarcation to understand the regional laws and social structure.

Kamahalli is a small hamlet in Nanjangud taluk, located 34 km from Mysore and 19 km from Nanjangud.

The client walked into office with an handmade model of their dream house we interns knew we had a client who knew what exactly he wanted.

During our visit to the site we had the opportunity to see cob houses which were more than a hundred years old we also had the opportunity to see an old underground granary used to store grains a natural way to preserve grains for a long periods of time. Eco-friendly living

Foundation constructed with random rubble stone masonry.

Stones for foundation sourced at site, the mud mortar made from the earth dug out for storing water.. The rubble stone masonry is topped with a layer of concrete and a slab of cudappa stone is used for the plinth.

Ferrocement overhead water tank construction Prefabricated ms formwork are tied with jute fabric to retain the jar shape over which a layer of mud is smeared to shapeup over which a layer of cow dung is smeared. On drying a layer of about 1 ½” mortar is applied and allowed to partially set. Necessary inlet outlet and air vent pipes are placed. 1 Mm gi wire is wound hellically with longitudinal support to complete the reinforcing gi cage. A final layer of 1 ½” cement mortar is applied. The fc tank is cured for about a week before removing the formwork is removed and final finishing is done.

MICRO CONCRETE ROOFING TILES Micro Concrete Roofing Tiles as name suggests is Manufacturing MCR Tiles a cement and quarry dust or m-sand mixed mortar • Manufacturing of MCR tiles are done in RLEEF based roofing tiles which are used in replacement to Manglore tiles.

Soil Analysis

The main construction concerns during the initial stages of a project will be to determine whether a given soil is suitable for some particular construction methods.
