You can safely remove the string pool by holding down the tabs on the spool cover, lifting off the cover, and then lifting off the spool.

Adjustment of the LA screw- This is the step where you will have to release the throttle and let the trimmer idle. It begins to stall, turn the LA clockwise.

Set the L screw- When the engine starts to idle, turn the L screw clockwise until the speed of the engine starts to increase, then gradually slow down once you notice the speed starting to decrease. Leave the screw in the same position to avoid a rich mixture at low speed.

Set the final speed of the idle screw- This is the phase when you’re required to turn the LA screw clockwise until the head of the trimmer starts to spin, then slowly back off the screw. The point at which the head stops spinning is the ideal position for the idle screw to operate on.
