Minimalism *Balance: when an image has areas that look balanced throughout the composition

*Focal point: the part of the picture that interests you the most

*Rule of thirds: dividing it into three which makes it into nine sections. Place the subject on one of these lines to make an interesting photo

*Positive/Negative space: positive space is a part of the photo that stands out the most, negative is just the opposite.

*Strong lines: Strong horizontal lines that convey constancy or timelessness

*Pattern: uses elements of repetition of lines, shapes or colour to create interesting images

*Symmetrical/asymmetrical: two halves of a picture that create a mirror type effect.
