Warehouse Distribution Center Hannaford Brothers

In response to the supermarket needs of Hannaford Bros. Co., a 1,013,000 sf warehouse/distribution facility was constructed on a 100-acre parcel in the Town of Schodack. The facility supplies dry groceries, frozen food, dairy, produce, meat and deli items to their retail operations in New York and New England. CHA’s scope of services included preparation of an environmental impact statement, traffic impact study, landscape design, stormwater management plan, water and wastewater treatment facilities design, and ecological site assessment.

Sysco Distribution Center Sysco Corporation

The project consists of the construction of a state-of-the-art 650,000 SF distribution facility and 18,040Âą SF truck maintenance, wash, and fueling facility on the eastern side of the lot and associated infrastructure (water, sewer, gas, electric, telecom, fire). The proposed development consists of a distribution facility, a fuelingmaintenance facility, two stormwater basins, paved access drives, truck, employee and visitor parking facilities, loading and maneuvering areas. The stormwater system was designed to comply with the Massachusetts Stormwater Policy and Town of Plympton Subdivision Requirements. CHA performed the overall land planning site design and permitting through the Town of Plympton. CHA also secured MassDOT Access Permit as well as the Design, Permitting and Construction (Design-Build) for the package water treatment storage and wastewater treatment facilities. #

Target Distribution Center Target Corporation

CHA was retained to provide comprehensive land development planning, site design, and permitting targets for this distribution center. CHA’s scope of services included civil and landscape site plans, boundary and topographic surveys, environmental site audits, traffic impact studies, wetland permitting and assistance in obtaining approval from local planning and zoning boards.

Yogurt Factory Site Improvements FAGE USA Dairy Industry

Dry Storage Building Expansion: Site, structural pad, and electric relocation design; and permitting were prepared for a dry storage building expansion and truck apron addition at the producer of yogurt products. Design components included site modifications and grading for two building additions, concrete dock apron for dock doors, exterior sanitary and stormwater system modifications, electric service relocation for primary service and exterior lighting, permitting, and stormwater management report updates. A geotechnical investigation was performed in preparation for the design of the two additions. Facility and Parking Expansion: A plant expansion of approximately 103,000 sf and parking lot expansion for up to 300 spaces was planned. Project components included site modifications and grading for building and parking addition, hydronically heated concrete truck apron and east plant entrance, retaining wall extension, exterior storm sewer system modifications, and upgrade to utility systems. Site/Civil and Site Electrical: Site/civil, site electrical engineering, and site power distribution engineering oversight services were provided. Site plans, construction details, and specifications were completed for site layout, erosion and sediment control, site lighting, and landscaping. Plans were also prepared for utility systems, storm sewer systems, earthwork, permanent roads, and parking lot. #

Distribution Center Expansion Frito Lay

CHA Tech Services is providing design and construction management services for a new 53,000 sq ft expansion and renovation of an existing distribution center in Charlotte, NC. The expansion will accommodate a new automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) and low bay pick center. Approximately 130 new truck and route parking spaces, and 18 dock spaces. A new 3-level conveyor bridge that will connect the distribution center to the production plant will also be constructed as part of project. This project is part of Frito-Lay’s Geographic Enterprise Solutions (GES) initiative across the nation. This initiative automates their distribution system by adding craned based pallet storage and also automatically assembles Frito-Lay product into store based orders for delivery.

Distribution Center Expansion Frito Lay

CHA Tech Services provided design and construction management services for a new $18M, 65,000 sf ASRS/low bay pick facility and renovation of the existing production center in Dallas, TX. This project will provide 35 new dock positions for the low bay pick area and the distribution center. Over 165 new truck and tractor parking spaces will be created as well a 304 space parking lot for vehicles. A new 3-level conveyor bridge that will connect the distribution center to the production plant will be constructed as part of the project as well. This project is part of Frito-Lay’s Geographic Enterprise Solutions (GES) initiative across the nation. This initiative automates their distribution system by adding craned based pallet storage and also automatically assembles Frito-Lay product into store based orders for delivery.

Distribution Center Expansion Frito Lay

CHA Tech Services provided design and construction management services for a new 21,821 sf expansion to an existing distribution center located in Jacksonville, Florida. The addition consists of prefabricated metal building, insulated metal panels on a concrete slab floor. The new section is equipped with a hydraulically designed fire protection system that was designed and installed in accordance with FM Global guidelines and local building codes. The project was completed in 4 months while the facility remained active. The expansion also added 15 new dock positions and over 70 new parking spaces for automobiles and truck parking. The site development required substantial clearing and grubbing of a dense wooded area.

Automated Storage and Retrieval System

Global Beverage Distributor – Columbia, Maryland CHA Tech Services was contracted for a design build project. The client leased a 175,000 sf warehouse and hired CHATS to do a build to suit renovation to support a new automated storage system and sales office. CHATS’ scope included all the required permitting, engineering and construction services required to support this new automated system. The project included design and renovation of 175,000 sf warehouse space including the installation of 24 new docks, electrical services to support the new automaton backed up by a 500kw generator. Design coordination and construction of the In-rack fire sprinklers. Replacement of 55,000 sf interior slab and a 5,500 sf office expansion added onto the existing warehouse. Site work included relocation and modifications to existing underground utilities and site expansion to allow for expanded truck parking and two check-in canopies.

Location: Tampa, FL Services: Design Construction Management

Automated Storage and Retrieval System Global Beverage Distributor

The project is the design and construction of the Client’s first automated storage and retrieval system. The facility is approximately 26,000 sf, 100 ft tall and can store up to 120,000 full pallets. The facility operates with a warehouse management system that automatically stores and retrieves deep storage pallets. It is designed to withstand 130 mph winds. Truck circulation around the site was also improved, trailer parking was increased and six new dock positions were also added with this renovation.

Refrigerated Automated Storage and Retrieval System Dannon

CHA Tech Services was hired as part of team to expand Dannon’s existing facility in West Jordan, UT. The addition added 35,750 sq ft to the existing cooler dock and cooling cells, including a 38 degree cooler AS/RS and pallet exchange/stretch wrap area. The expansion was refrigerated from the existing plan refrigeration system via a tie in to the existing glycol lines. A corridor connecting the production area to the cooler structures was also built, as was a mechanical/electrical/battery charging area.
