Established since 1731 and set in 150 acres of scenic parkland called the Knavesmire, York Racecourse has outstanding vistas and characterful manicured lawns and terraces, providing an ideal canvas to capture those all-important photographs for your wedding day memories.

Our highly trained team have a combined total of over 80 years of experience and will ensure that every aspect of your day is taken care of, to the very highest standard.

THE CEREMONY
York Racecourse is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships with a portfolio of rooms seating up to 100 guests. Among our collection of suites, we also have a truly unique location - the only venue in York where you can say “I DO” on a top floor outdoor balcony with views of York Minster.

THE RECEPTION
York Racecourse has the flexibility to accommodate many different styles of wedding reception. Be it a traditional wedding breakfast with top table and seated guests, or if you are thinking of a more relaxed, informal day, we are happy to discuss your specific requirements and tailor the venue to suit you.
Our spaces can comfortably seat up to 200 people for your wedding breakfast.
THE EVENING
With the tables cleared for dancing, it’s time to party as a newly married couple! You are most welcome to bring along your favourite disco or entertainer, or we have close links with a range of local providers and would be happy to put you in touch.

The wedding breakfast is one of the most important parts of your special day. Here at York Racecourse, we are strong advocates of traditional food preparation. We believe that the best, seasonal produce can be sourced right here in Yorkshire. Equally, we are passionate about the quality and range of our wines, ensuring your celebration is complemented by a perfect pairing.

CHECK AND HOLD YOUR PREFERRED DATE
Our diary, especially for Saturday weddings, fills up fast. Don’t be disappointed, check your preferred date as soon as possible, we simply require a deposit payment in order to hold that date for you.
