Balancing The Ecosystem

The goal behind this project is to give back to the community and create a building that embodies the site while creating an im age for the future of Bethlehem. By using recirculate economics the building can r euse steel from the site. The steel wraps itself around t he building symbolize the embodiment of the site. Contrasting this is a manufactured bioplastic pod that serves as hope, and an interactive piece onsite to engage and provide the community with clear air. The pods hold moss and other plant life that use the natural processes to clean the air and give back to the community. This building is a sign of new life and growth for the community of Bethlehem.

Slowing the System

The Covid-19 Pandemic had changed many individual’s daily routines and had cause an increase of mental health issues across the city. Through this installation the goal is to change the commuter’s state of mind through the change in scenery and a reduction in the harsh noises. This is achieved by a 1 minute commute through this passageway aiming to help better impact the outcome of someones day. In the end, this pop-up helps to create a better and healthier community.

Axonometric

This was the finally step into our semester while looking at equity within the Philadelphia area. As a class we decide that Gen trification was playing a huge role in the community and decided that a cultural center was the a way to combat the change in development. From there I went into my personal research and decided that the cultur al roots within the community should be restored. This is wh ere I became researching the African American roots and culture to crea te an equitable and powerful piece of architecture that would em power the community

Journey Not Taken House of Peace 04

This was a four week project where we were to develope a house of peace. Located in Strawberry Mansion neighborhood and sandwiched between two busy roads, this house of peace looks to heighten your sense and redirect your focus onto the beauty of nature. The site suffered from a large amount of runoff so the idea was to elevate the structure of the decking to allow for he avy amounts of rain to circulate underneath and be collected by a perfor ated pipe system that would collect some of the water down toward the Schuylkill river located at the bottom of the hill. The interior spaces allowed for places to meditate and view the beauty of the landscape.

Harsh Locations and Team Collaboration

Located in Death Valley National Park, this NOAA Research facility works to research and analylis the affects of pollution in t he cross section of multiple cities. Looking to keep a small foot print this facility is buildt from the ground up with sand. By 3d prin ting sand this maintains a low maintance and harness the insulation properties of embedding the spaces with in the earth. Looking to blend int o the surroundings the architecture looks to micmic the dunes in his wavy forms and harness the wind to cool the interior spaces. The program is in two parts; on the lower level for the researchers living and communal spaces. And on the upper level to the left where ma jority of the measurements and research is done.

About Skills

I am finishing up my fourth year of school at Jefferson University. I am hardworking and striving to become the best architect I can. After studying abroad I LOVE to travel. There is so much beauty in this world and we should be protecting it as best as we can. I am minoring in Sustainable design because I want to try and make a difference. It may only be a small difference but the effects could one day become something much larger. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports and being outdoors.
