Traditional African saying that means
This was the finally step into our semester while looking at equity within the Philadelphia area. As a class we decide that Gentrification was playing a huge role in the community and decided that a cultural center was the a way to combat the change in development. From there I went into my personal research and decided that the cultural roots within the community should be restored. This is where I became researching the African American roots and culture to create an equitable and powerful piece of architecture that would empower the community

Cliff Side Energy
First we created two objects located within the house and taking principles and movement from those objects we created a pieces of architecture. With a hole puncher and a spinning pen, I extracting the main functions and movemnets, which lead me to create a cliffside energy facility. As a prototype this building would look to harness the upward force of wind that hits the cliffs to generate power to coastal cities.

This was a four week project where we were to develope a house of peace. Located in Strawberry Mansion neighborhood and sandwiched between two busy roads, this house of peace looks to heighten your sense and redirect your focus onto the beauty of nature. The site suffered from a large amount of runoff so the idea was to elevate the structure of the decking to allow for heavy amounts of rain to circulate underneath and be collected by a perforated pipe system that would collect some of the water down toward the Schuylkill river located at the bottom of the hill. The interior spaces allowed for places to meditate and view the beauty of the landscape.
