LOCATION: GARY, INDIANA
DESCRIPTION
THE INTENTION IS REDEVELOPING THE SITE AND REPURPOSING EXISTING SCHOOL BUILDING TO BE USED AS A COMMUNITY CENTER. SOME CHALLENGES THAT THE CLIENTS WERE FACING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD WERE CRIME/NEGLECT, DEFERRED MAINTENANCE, AND WEAK NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY. THERE WERE EXPLORATIONS IN INTEGRATING GARNETT SCHOOL SITE TO BROADER NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION. SOME WAYS WERE BY INTRODUCING BOTH MARKET AND AFFORDABLE RESIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES. THE CLIENT WANTED.

DESCRIPTION
THE OASIS WAS DESIGNED TO OFFER ENTREPRENEURS OF THE ADJACENT STATION F REFUGE FROM THEIR DAILY WORK ENVIRONMENT. THE COMPLEX OFFERS A DIVERSITY OF REJUVENATING EXPERIENCES , RANGING FROM PUBLIC LEISURE POOLS TO PRIVATE SAUNAS. THE DESIGN IMPLEMENTS STRATEGIES OF DAYLIGHTING AND CIRCULATION, WITH INTENTIONAL MATERIALITY AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS TO CREATE AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE OF TOUCH, TASTE, SMELL, SIGHT, AND SOUND.

THERE’S RELATION TO THE OASIS WITH THE SITE BY LIFTING THE FLAT UP FOR THE OASIS TO SEE THROUGH THE FLATS TOWARDS THE WALLER CREEK.
I-35 IS CAPPED FOR FUTURE I-35 PROPOSAL FOR THE OASIS TO HAVE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE FOR THE USERS, WHETHER IT IS LEISURE WALK TO WORKING ON PROJECTS OUTDOORS.

DESCRIPTION
IN THIS EXPLORATION, THE AIM WAS TO CREATE A STRUCTURE THAT WAS BOTH MODULAR, COST EFFECTIVE, AND REPLICABLE WITHOUT TAKING AWAY FROM THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF A SPACE. A LOT OF THE METHODS APPLIED WERE TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE MAIN CONCERNS SIGNIFICANTLY ENHANCED THE QUALITY OF LIFE WITHIN THOSE SPACES.

THIS WAS SHOWN TO OWNERS/CLIENTS ON HOW THE ADDITION OF METAL/WELDING BUILDING LOOKS. ALSO WENT ON-SITE TO DO MEASUREMENTS AS WELL.

DESCRIPTION
THE FOCUS IN THIS PROJECT IS TO DESIGN A STUDENT HOUSING THAT CAN ALSO BE HOUSING FAMILIES AS WELL. IT IS TO CREATE A PUBLIC INTERACTIVE SPACE FOR NOT ONLY THOSE WHO LIVE IN THE STUDENT HOUSING, BUT ALSO FOR THE COMMUNITY USERS AS WELL. THIS WAS DONE THROUGH PUBLIC GROCERY STORE BELOW AS INTERACTIVE WALLS AND BENCHES.
