COMMERCIAL RELOCATION
Individuals are assigned to teams and each team is assigned a series of tasks. Coordinating each individual and each team to work together in a synchronized fashion so that events occur in an orderly and efficient manner is critical to a successful relocation.
Thorough training and proper planning is key, and these are the elements that make Certified the leader in commercial relocation.
Certified prepares electronically, selfadhesive, numerically and color coded moving labels that correlate with the floor plans to ensure proper placement of every asset.
Tagging procedures are established for all common area file allocations, including libraries and file rooms. At destination, placards that coincide with the numerically and color-coded floor plans are hung on door frames and above workstations.
Certified comes to you as a well-respected, experienced relocation company that provides qualified foremen and teamsters to expedite the relocation. Dependability, integrity and service have always been this company’s most valued asset. More than just a tradition, it is rooted in the caliber of the people who combine their abilities, their experience and their loyalty to make up our firm.
This is the basis for every relocation, and its effects are seen in the efficiency and quality which characterize all Certified office projects.

In a typical large corporate relocation, it is not uncommon for us to deploy large numbers of movers to multiple locations, often within multiple buildings and on multiple floors.
RELOCATION IS AT THE CORE OF OUR SERVICES
SITE PROTECTION
To protect old and new office spaces, Certified works closely with our client’s management to identify and accommodate special requirements.
Certified upholds industry best practices for protection; we ensure our clients’ “to” and “from” locations are safe from damage by using wall protection (Koroflex) and floor protection (Masonite).
With full-time supervision, on-site, Certified installs comprehensive and specialized wall and floor protection to prevent damage to all exposed surfaces.
We inspect both origin (old) and destination (new) sites before protection is installed to note existing damages and then install protection to ensure that no new damage occurs on our watch.
6
TECHNOLOGY PROTECTION
Safe transport and accurate placement of office technology is a crucial component of corporate transitions.
COORDINATION
Certified provides Technology Coordinators to plan and manage relocations for all technology from servers and server racks to desktop technology to printers, plotters and copiers.
Taking the client’s lead and then working with internal IT teams and each vendor, Certified ensures that every tasks is planned and scheduled in the time frame dictated by the client. This safeguards the smooth transition of critical equipment to its new location.
SUPPORT
Certified provides trained technology manpower to disconnect, transport, reconnect and certify each piece of equipment. Certified provides technology post move support after the move to assist employees and the corporate IT team. We provide just the right manpower to ensure that every task is completed quickly and expertly.
TRANSPORT SERVICES
Certified packs and transports every piece of equipment with care and precision. Each piece, from mouse to servers, is tagged to its specific destination location. It is then carefully packed in the appropriate materials: static free bubble wrap for monitors, servers and CPUs; perfectly sized zip-locked bags for keyboards, mice, cords and peripherals.
Equipment is cushion-packed in large bins or hard plastic crates, depending on the equipment. All equipment is wheeled onto our air-ride trucks, rolled off the truck at the new site and then deliberately placed in its proper location.
Transport trucks are prioritized to move servers the moment they are disconnected with all other equipment following immediately behind. Technology is always expedited to assure business-as-usual on Day One.

COLOR-CODED TAGGING SYSTEM
Certified prepares electronically, self-adhesive, numerically and color coded moving labels that correlate with the floor plans to ensure proper placement of every asset.
OUR TAGGING METHODOLOGY
• Obtain floor plans for “from” and “to” locations
• Assign a color to each floor
• On each floor, number each office, workstation, file bank area, closets, conference rooms, storage rooms, etc.
• The numbering sequence begins at the point of entry on the floor and continues in a circular fashion around the floor
• Each location (or person) is assigned a distinct color and number - this is their move number
• At destination, placards are put up that coincide with these move numbers, thereby ensuring proper placement of all tagged items

The executive in charge has responsibility for the management of the project. They will oversee project managers and crew leaders, coordinate with the local business agents, work with you as required and attend construction meetings when necessary.
The project manager is the full-time person on the project. Each project manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating all work crew leaders, carpenters and delivery receipts, distribution and execution for the “delivery and installation” side of the project.
The project manager will oversee all labor activity, schedule labor, construction and attend meetings regularly in order to communicate effectively.
The project manager coordinates the project schedule with the client, consultant, furniture manager, architect and construction manager to ensure a successful and timely delivery.
The Foreman will oversee specific labor crews in the field. Crew leaders will be assigned, as work fluctuations require. They will be responsible for the overseeing of all delivery, receiving activity and installation work. We keep job logs to chart installation progress and supervise the labor force through completion of a punch list. Crew leaders will regularly report to their supervising field manager. Foremen regularly report to the Project Manager.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT EDUCATES & EMPOWERS
20
At Certified, we offer Change Management services to help employees through their moves, re-stacks and other changes to their office environments.
We have a database of helpful packing tips and Day One guidance that can be tailored to the specific needs of your team and project. Often we create these written and electronic communications in our clients’ “voice” - using their brand color palette and fonts to create consistent messaging throughout the move.
SERVICES INCLUDE:
• Updates and progress on the overall project
• How the spaces will work for employees experiencing consolidation or reconfiguration
• Information on conference rooms, mail services, facilities’ support
• Floor plans and stacking plans with key locations like lavatories, copy stations & pantries
These communiqués allow staff to better understand the moves going on around them, and how those changes will affect them departmentally and individually.
Although much of the information that employees need to know might seem straightforward or similar to existing protocols, reiteration is often useful in times of change and confusion. We’re here to help your team ease into their new surroundings by anticipating questions and concerns before they arise.
Additional welcoming activities we’ve coordinated for our clients include a welcome breakfast for each phase or a gift or token of appreciation.
