Innovating the consumer and provider experience using technology internally and for clients At Cerner, we’re positioned to test our solutions internally through Healthe at Cerner’s strategic alignments with the Population Health member engagement and technology teams. At the same time, our associates and their families are empowered to improve their health. As a consumer-focused living lab, our associates are the first to test and try new technology before it’s made available to clients. Cerner’s consumer solutions follow a business-to-business-to-consumer business model, meaning we sell consumer-based solutions to health systems and employers then market the solutions to their consumers. Because of the more direct alignment to consumers, the Healthe Clinic is one of our most valuable avenues in testing the latest technology and trying out bold and innovative ideas. Solutions such

as a clinical rooming solution and a redefined check-in experience, through the implementation of self-registration kiosks, are just a few of the innovations tested in the clinic and brought to market. The clinical rooming solution is an ambulatory technology that focuses on the status of care suites, such as patient occupancy status and cleanliness. A small screen is placed at each care suite entrance to allow physicians and member service specialists to quickly and effectively know the status of a room, through stop-light coding system, and can take action where needed. Self-registration kiosks allow for quicker member check-ins, while offering member service specialists more time for interactions with members on the phone or when scheduling new appointments.
