I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chair for the Central SC Committee of 100 and cannot wait to see where the 2023-2024 year takes us. With a staggering 5,501 new jobs and $2.7B in capital investment already announced this year, I’d say there’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of this dynamic organization, supporting the mission of job creation, investment recruitment, and prosperity within the Central SC Region.
Through its vast offerings of private-sector resources and support, the Committee of 100 plays an integral part in the overall success of the Central SC Alliance. As committee members, we have the unique opportunity to enrich the lives and communities of those around us, while connecting and collaborating with a diverse and influential group of business leaders from across the region. The networking opportunities and exclusive benefits available to members are unparalleled, and I challenge each of you to get involved and take full advantage of all this organization has to offer.

Big Thursday Oyster Roast Fundraiser & Raffle The C100’s marquee event, this oyster roast is held ahead of the Carolina Gamecocks vs. Clemson Tigers rivalry football game. This invitation-only event celebrates the relationships that make the Central SC Region successful and provide a networking opportunity with economic development professionals and allies, including the S.C. Department of Commerce and county economic development representatives, from throughout the Central SC Region.

WHAT IS THE CENTRAL SC COMMITTEE OF 100?
The Central SC Committee of 100 (C100) is the volunteer marketing group that promotes economic development in the nine-member Central SC Region. Its purpose is to provide private-sector resources to the Central South Carolina Alliance’s mission of recruiting capital investment and jobs.
WHO DO WE SUPPORT?
Located in the heart of South Carolina, the Central SC Alliance (CSCA) is a full-service professional economic development alliance focused on cultivating economic advancement and enrichment in the communities of the Central SC Region. Founded in 1994 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit partnership, the CSCA is the Region’s lead economic development alliance representing eight counties and the state’s capital city –Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland counties and the City of Columbia.

In 2021, the CSCA launched a regional initiative to recruit and retain skilled talent for the industries in the Region. Start Central SC provides job seekers with information on job openings, as well as and facets of the Central SC Region including community information, upskilling resources and cost of living comparisons.
