Honoring 9/11 Recycling - pg 3

TIRE RECYCLING FUN!

Twice a year the Isabella County’s Isabella Conservation District hosts free tire recycling for residents. Lucian Mullins of Clare, shown above, was here last Saturday to help his dad, his uncle, and his grandfather all collect tires from the public. Lucian’s grandfather, Dan Mullins, owns C M Rubber Technologies, Inc. in Coleman, Michigan. Residents who missed last week-

end’s tire recycling can take their tires up to C M Rubber in Coleman and dispose of them for a small fee, or wait until the next free recycling event which will be held next Spring. The Isabella Conservation District also hosts Hazardous Waste collection events twice annually, with the next collection on October 3rd, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at The Isabella County Fairgrounds.

New Public Relations Coordinator

Monday September 14th was the first day of work for Molli Ferency in her new role as the city of Mt. Pleasant’s Public Relations Coordinator. Molli Ferency has previously worked in the communications field for Portage Public Schools and Clare-Gladwin RESD. “We are thrilled to find a candidate with the expertise and experience that Molli has.” said City Clerk Jeremy Howard. “Molli and her skill set will be a valuable asset to the City.”

The Sapp Brothers played covers ranging from Bob Dylan to Peter Tosh, with a bit of The Grateful Dead ,and Smokey Robinson added in. Playing together as well as taking some time to each play some solo tunes, Cody and

Devin Sapp kept the crowd’s attention. Not only are The Sapp Brothers a talented duo, but they are very personable as well. They interacted with the crowd throughout the show, making the atmosphere seem even

more intimate and friendly, which makes for a great show for anyone who wants to get out and enjoy some music with their coffee and fritters. No date has been set for their next show, but I’m betting we’ll see these brothers again soon.

Library Offering Personalized Service to Patrons Thousands of book titles are published and added to the Chippewa River District Library collections each year. These include new books from the New York Times Bestseller list, Good Reads and Library Reads. With five library branches and a countless amount of books, it can be difficult to find the right one. But the staff at CRDL are here to help. CRDL offers patrons our Concierge Service. This service can solve that frustrating problem of what to read next. All you need to sign up for this benefit is a CRDL library card. So, how does the Concierge Service work? Visit your CRDL branch and fill out the form regarding your preferred media. Once the CRDL staff have that information on file they will recommend titles suited to your interests and reading habits. These new titles will be reserved under your account as they become available. You just let us know how often you need new material and we will have titles saved and ready for you to pick up or download. We can accommodate your preferred format—book, eBook or audio book. Or topics you’re interested in—crafts, travel or mysteries, to name a few. The CRDL staff will work to match your preferences to the titles best suited for you. Maybe you’re more interested in music recommendations, rather than books. Luckily, the Concierge Service covers music, too. From types of music to your willingness to try new artists, the CRDL staff will look at your responses to choose the best music for you. Our titles include Grammy Award winners like Sam Smith, Pharrell Williams and Carrie Underwood. The CRDL staff is here to help make your next book or music selection simpler. The Concierge Service is easy to join, so stop in to your CRDL branch and give it a try. Our staff are here to serve your needs. Let them help you find your next great book or CD to enjoy. Just think of the endless book and music titles you may have never found without the CRDL Concierge Service.
