Hauck Announces Candidacy...to wrong District

Photo: Elise Hubel By S. R. COVIEO Roger Hauck has thrown his hat in the ring for the 99th District State Representative seat that will be vacated by Republican Kevin Cotter. Cotter, first elected in November of 2010, has reached his limit of three allowable terms, and therefore can’t seek re-election. This November, the 99th seat is up for grabs. Union Township Trustee Bryan Mielke, a Democrat,
announced his candidacy for the 99th District seat back on November 10th. Mielke previously ran for the seat, against then incumbent Cotter back in 2014, but lost in a close race that saw Mielke receive 56 more votes than Cotter in Isabella County (8079 to 8023), but saw Cotter win by taking 56% of the votes from the Midland districts that are also represented by the 99th seat.
