Wyntoon Fresh Produce

Wyntoon Farm Fresh is a side passion, our main living is crop farming.

Our love of growing produce – vegetables, eggs and honey – has been going for many years but, in the past year, we decided we want to share this with the people of the Central Highlands. So, we created Wyntoon Farm Fresh.

Wyntoon Farm Fresh is located on our family property in the Gindie area and it’s a family a air, with everyone pitching in.

In this part of Queensland, fresh produce is seasonal so autumn and winter are our main vegetable growing and fruiting months.

Last year was our first year supplying fresh produce to the community in what we call a “veggie drop” most Saturday mornings. We also do private orders and have supplied a local café and catering business with our beautiful goodies.

@WYNTOONFRESHPRODUCE

For us it’s the excitement and achievement of watching our vegetables grow and produce beautiful fruit for all to enjoy. The Pukallus Family

Andalia Pastoral

The vision for our life and business is to be working together as a family, successfully regenerating the land that we are custodians of.

We want to love and respect others and live in a way that is respectful to our creator in all aspects of life and business.

We want to grow and expand our business to develop a venture that will continue on after us, creating healthy environments, healthy animals, healthy food and healthy people.

Success to us is to continually be improving personally, improving our land and improving our business. ANDALIAPASTORAL.COM.AU @ANDALIAPASTORAL

@ANDALIAPASTORAL

For us personally we wish to spend quality time with our young family, giving them a solid foundation, assisting them in achieving their visions and goals and creating a business that they are proud of and wish to call their own.

For our land we wish to see ecological diversity, increasing our soil carbon our organic matter and the life beneath our feet and in turn our drought resistance. For, our business we wish to increase the diversity in enterprises and resilience through all seasons.

Lake Maraboon Red Claw

Sitting down to a meal of freshly caught Red Claw has been a quintessential experience for Central Highlands residents since the crayfish were accidentally introduced into Central Queensland waterways after the establishment of Red Claw farms in the region. They are native to the tropical streams and rivers of the far north but have spread widely throughout southern Queensland.

In addition to Red Claw, the Fairbairn Dam is also stocked with Barramundi, Silver Perch and Golden Perch. All this makes the dam, just 60kms from Emerald, a popular recreational destination for locals and visitors.

Red Claw fishing is an important rite of passage for kids growing up in the Central Highlands as the crustaceans can simply be caught in oval-shaped pots left on the bank or edges of the dam – an enjoyable activity for a day trip or holiday.

This 1.3 million megalitre water source not only provides Central Highlands residents and visitors a place to fish, ski and recreate, but is also the highquality and reliable water supply facilitating irrigated systems that grow much of the region’s grapes, mandarins and cotton.

The Red Claw on the menu is provided by Freshwater Australian Crayfish Traders (FACT) who operate an 80ha property in Tarome and produce up to a million Red Claw Crayfish each year.

Catching Red Claw adds a sense of adventure to any visit, rewarding to catch, easy to cook, and delicious to eat.
