The 2020-21 financial year arguably turned out to be one of CHDC's most productive ever. One of the most notable achievements was the multipronged bolstering of the region’s agriculture industry from nurturing agtech startups with innovation missions to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, to workshops that armed producers with often neglected but critical business skills. It was also a pivotal 12 months for the quest to develop the region’s visitor economy, with the launch of a new tourism brand story and events platform. CHDC’s support of local business to build capacity and capability was most clearly demonstrated in the many events presented across the year; all designed to instill participants with relevant information and skills applicable to their business. Advocacy, partnership building and investment attraction continued to be important endeavours. The corporation participated in working groups and task forces to help shape relevant local, state and federal policies.
