Thought. Action. Emotion.
The Psychology Department offers a broad range of courses that equip students to scientifically analyze why humans and nonhuman animals think, act, and feel in the ways they do.
Graduates pursue a variety of experiences with a psychology degree from Centenary, including study at leading masters and Ph.D. programs and employment in non-profit and private sector businesses. Students have also used psychology degrees as a springboard to professional study in other fields, such as occupational therapy, law, medicine, and business.
Centenary’s psychology program familiarizes students with the techniques used in modern social-science research and offers laboratory resources for students to design and complete their own research projects. This exploration frequently results in research collaboration with faculty members.

“Centenary’s psychology program made me fall in love with the field as a whole. The professors pushed me to challenge theories and produce the best work possible. I learned critical skills such as time management, proper writing and presentation techniques, and most importantly how to identify credible research.”
