Make history; own politics
The world is getting smaller so it is important to explore our responsibilities as local and global citizens. Students in history and political science investigate critical questions that help us understand where we have been and where we can go from here. In small courses taught by published experts, students explore diverse topics. On-campus events such as Constitution Day and off-campus internships prepare students for careers in law, nonprofit, public or governmental service, politics, and education.

Pre-Law Program
Centenary’s pre-law program has an excellent placement record, with over 90% of students who applied to law school gaining acceptance over the past 5 years. The average LSAT score of Centenary graduates exceeds the national average. Centenary students on the pre-law track can choose to declare a minor in Legal Studies, taking courses in public law, symbolic logic, advanced rhetoric, economics, sociology, history, political science and more. Public law classes at Centenary focus on case reading and legal research to prepare prospective law school students for their first year in law school. Centenary is proud to have a partnership with LSU Law, giving Legal Studies minors interested in pursuing careers in public interest law a pathway for priority consideration for admission to LSU Law.
