CITY UPDATES
RECAP OF FINAL STORM SWEEP AT PUBLIC WORKS
We extend our sincere gratitude to our Public Works team for their exceptional support and assistance during the final Storm Sweep event held last Saturday. The team’s efforts facilitated the successful processing of 25 vehicles, including 18 trailers. Their dedication to hosting the Storm Sweep and ensuring the efficient removal of debris and tree limbs from our roads has been remarkable. The commitment and hard work of our Public Works team have been instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community. We commend their outstanding performance and invaluable contribution to our clean-up efforts.
MOVIE NIGHT ON THE SQUARE IS TONIGHT BEGINNING AT 7:00 PM
We are delighted to host our second Movie Night on the Square, presented by Sinacola, this evening, which will begin at 7:00 PM on the Downtown Square. The special feature will be Super Mario Bros. The event will include a Kids Zone prior to the movie, food and beverage vendors, and free theatre-style popcorn.
UPDATE ON THE 2024 COMMUNITY SURVEY
We are excited to announce the launch of the 2024 Community Survey, an initiative designed to capture resident insights for our Strategic Plan. In collaboration with Polco, a reputable surveying company, we will begin sending postcards to randomly-selected residents starting Friday, June 14. This random sample survey will span three weeks, providing an opportunity for diverse voices to contribute to our decision-making processes. An open survey will follow, available online to all residents from Friday, July 5 to Friday, July 19, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation.
POLICE DEPARTMENT’S SECOND ANNUAL CAR SHOW IS SATURDAY, JUNE 15
The Celina Police Department’s Traffic Section will host its Second Annual Car Show on Saturday, June 15, from 8:00 - 11:00 AM at 110 N Colorado St. This event provides an excellent opportunity for the community to meet with police officers and fellow car enthusiasts. It is a free event, encouraging broad participation. We look forward to welcoming everyone for a morning of cars and camaraderie.
CELINA POLICE HEADQUARTERS UPDATE & PHOTO PREVIEW
We are delighted to unveil the latest images of our upcoming Celina Police Headquarters, set to open this summer. Spanning 32,660 square feet, this modern facility represents a significant milestone in enhancing our capabilities to ensure the safety and security of our community. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the new headquarters will offer our officers a dynamic and functional workspace conducive to operational efficiency and officer well-being. Key features include a spacious and welcoming lobby that doubles as a versatile community and training room, equipped with state-of-the-art furniture, audio/visual technology, and support systems. This area will serve as a central hub for engaging with the public and facilitating interactions with our dedicated Police Records staff at a secure reception point. The facility is designed not only to meet the operational needs of our Department but also to prioritize the health, safety, and comfort of our officers, reflecting our commitment to providing them with a work environment that supports their essential service to Celina.






MARKETING & POLICE DEPARTMENT HONORED AT TAMIO CONFERENCE
The City is pleased to announce the recent accolades achieved by both its Marketing Department and Police Department at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) Conference in San Antonio. Life Connected. Magazine, produced by the Marketing Department, received the prestigious Award of Excellence for External Newsletter or Magazine. This recognition marks the third state-wide honor bestowed upon the magazine since 2021, underscoring its consistent high quality and its significant contribution to community engagement and communication. Additionally, the Celina Police Department was honored with the Award of Excellence in the Best Use of Short-Form Video category for its compelling social media reel featuring the Breacher Tool. These achievements highlight Celina’s commitment to excellence in communication and innovation, reinforcing our dedication to serving and connecting with our community through impactful initiatives.
