A Sports Day to Remember

This year has been filled with great experiences at C.E.E! For a final project, the 9th grade English class put together this newspaper to commemorate the year. Although the coronavirus pandemic caused us to stay apart in the last parcial, we still have so many good memories to share.
One highlight was a class that became one of our favorites. Ninth grader Ximena Santos said, “My favorite class is English, due to the awesome way that Miss Haley explains things, I think I have learned a lot“. As a class, we want to thank her for all her work and desire to help us learn about things that are useful in our lives, but most importantly her teaching about God.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the book series “Percy Jakson and the Olympians”, which just flew off the book shelves. Alejandra Guardado said, “A lot of people were reading or re-reading the Percy Jackson Series. I was one of those, and I recommend it a lot!”
This year we saw a rise in students’ appreciation of music. Many students have developed musical talent in instruments like guitar and ukulele. Any chance they got, they were seen playing outside of class or helping Profe. Hermes put on a show.

Sports Day is a day full of people falling, cheering each other on, giving every last drop of sweat, putting in extra teamwork, and experiencing feelings of expectation, desperation, and joy. We see all of the ups and downs during the competition, but it is also a day we can have fun and forget a little bit about our lives.
For Michael Chavez, a 7th grader, it was his first high school Sports Day, and is one of favorite memories from this year. He said, “It is one of the best days at school because there you learn to win and lose”.
However this day ended for each team, whether they won or lost, they have the satisfaction of knowing they can try again next Sports Day, and also next year. But for the 11 graders, this year was different.
