Dear Pre- Kindergarten "B" homeroom Children and Families,
I hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are as excited as I am to begin a new school year.
For those of you that do not know me, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Priya, and I will have the privilege of having your child in my class.
In the following pages, I have provided detailed information about supplies, lunch, snack, arrival and dismissal, and more. Please be sure to read through it all.
I thank you for your cooperation because, after many years of working with pre-school-age children, I believe this is what works best. As always, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Warm Regards, Mrs. Priya

Student Supplies & Clothes
Please place your child’s supplies in a large bag with your child’s name on the outside of the bag.
I also ask that you bring a full set of clothes for your child in a Ziploc bag. Include underwear, socks, shirt, pants, and extra shoes.
Please print your child's name on the bag. We will not accept the clothes if they are not in a sealed ziploc bag. These clothes are to remain in school.
Your child will also need a nap mat for nap time. It looks like this and can be purchased at Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Baby-Boom-NapMat-I-Luv-Zebra/19720855
Again, I urge you to label the sleep mat as well as everything else you send from home.
Please bring all supplies and completed forms the day before school starts, when we have our Parent Orientation meeting on Sept. 5th.

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
In Pre-K we ask that students arrive between 8:00-8:20. We strongly encourage students to be dropped off by 8:20 so that they have time to settle in and unpack their things in the morning. Our academic day begins promptly at 8:30
Our dismissal time is at 2:45. For Pre-K students dismissal, we ask that parents please park in a legal parking spot and come to the side door near the Cafeteria (under pergola) of the lower school building to pick up their child. Students who are enrolled in aftercare or an after-school program will stay in the classroom and have a light snack from home at 3:00.

Snacks & Lunch
Starting the first day of school, your child will have an AM snack. If your child stays for aftercare (after 3:00 pm) your child will also need a PM snack. We will go over the below procedure during Parent Orientation on Wednesday.
Please give your child something small and healthy to eat. A snack bar, small container of yogurt, fresh fruit, and dry cereal are perfect. A small juice box is also recommended. Please place all items in a brown lunch bag or small Ziploc. Please put your child’s name on the bag and mark it AM Snack. Place the snack in your child’s backpack, not in his or her lunchbox.
Please remember to send in any utensils that might be needed.

PM Snack (for children staying past 3 pm): Follow the same procedure, as AM snack. Mark the bag with your child’s name and PM snack. Please keep the snack items simple. Please refrain from sending any drinkable yogurt. The container is not suitable for little hands!!!!
If your child is bringing lunch from home, I ask that you place the lunch in a child-friendly lunchbox. Please pack only the items your child will eat for lunch, also, place a small water bottle/juice pouch in their lunchbox. Please make sure the lunchbox is labeled with your child’s name. Please note, that we are not permitted to heat your child’s lunch.
I also ask that your child keeps a full water bottle in a pocket on the outside of his or her backpack. If the backpack does not have a pocket, please place the bottle inside the backpack. Please remember to put your child’s name on the water bottle. This water bottle will be for your child to use after gym and recess, therefore the bottle should be “child friendly.”
Please make sure your child brings this water bottle every day.
