Deep Blue Records is a modern record store by day and a lively speakeasy by night. Nestled in the picturesque Montecito, California, along Coast Village Road, the venue serves as an ideal gathering place for discerning music enthusiasts and avid vinyl collectors to unite and celebrate their passion for music.
Deep Blue Records is centered around the concept of coastal luxury and rhythmic bliss. Through the use of high-end finishes, blended together with organic and soft shapes the store offers customers the opportunity to escape into an appreciation for music
The goal of the brand is to foster love and appreciation for music, while simultaneously bringing people together through the shared interest in vintage records & vinyl’s. To introduce a new generation into the world of music records.
As night falls, guests can make their way through the secret entrance to the speakeasy, disguised behind a sizable painting within the record store The clandestine passage opens up to a captivating atmosphere Once inside, guests are encouraged to relax and immerse themselves in the vibrant surroundings. The speakeasy boasts a comprehensive bar service and an array of seating options, providing an inviting space for attendees to savor cocktails while relishing live music performances.
As a symbol of good luck, healing, diversity, and adaptability, the hummingbird is representative of the beauty in migration. It migrates in search of new beginnings at destinations abundant with flowers and food resources Hummingbirds are attracted to many varieties of plants native to the El Paso area such as cacti, the Yellow Poppy and the Texas Ranger, and agave plant The Hummingbird Haven developed from the idea of a hummingbird's journey to a new destination that is suitable for its needs and desires Taking inspiration from the site and hummingbird attractions, a custom tile was formulated as the motif for the building structure, displaying the shape and color of the flowers that attract hummingbirds to the area.
The design includes a warm and inviting color palette with natural material inspiration from the site and surrounding area The simple, neutral stucco exterior is inspired by the architecture of Mission churches which have been historically preserved and explored today in El Paso Inside the unit features an area for lounging, dining, and sleeping Each area of the space is designed so that it is comfortable and easy to use The inclusion of plants inside of the structure incorporates biophilia into the space and promotes connectivity to the site and its origins The clerestory allows the user to have access to natural light and connectivity to the outdoors while keeping the interior of the structure out of viewing from the exterior perspective, allowing the residents to feel safe and secure in their place of shelter
The intricate pattern mimics flower petals and includes stained glass at the center to incorporate a muted variation of the color yellow and magenta seen in flowers in the nearby area of El Paso

The back of the chair, which is made of pool noodles will be upholstered with Vescom's sustainable recycled boucle upholstery fabric. The fabric is made incorporating predominantly recycled polyester FR boucle yarn, made from postconsumer PET bottles
The Root chair will utilize recycled wood for the base, old wine corks will adorn the front of the base, and pool noodles will surround the seat to provide a back Recycled wood sticks will be placed inside the hole of the pool noodle to provide stability
The Root chair is inspired by organic recyclable materials. Similar to the growth and new life that stems from roots, this chair is symbolic of the rebirth that can occur through the utilization of previously used materials.
A cove is a small sheltered bay that can be found along Similiar to how a cove is safe and comfortable, learning students can go to and feel safe, comfortable, and refre students to practice their studies will motivate them to g as human beings

At the Cove Wellness and Learning Center students will have the ability to collaborate with one another in an environment that promotes wellness and comfort The implementation of a yoga studio in this wellness center offers students the ability to escape and de-stress from the pressures of school, through physical movement and meditation For those students who would rather enjoy some time outdoors, there is a large outdoor dining and lounge space nestled in between two spacious outdoor classrooms. Overall, the Cove is meant to serve as a place where students can always go to and feel welcomed and safe to be their the best versions of themselves
At the wellness center, student’s health and wellbeing is at the forefront of design. In order to give students, the opportunity to learn in a built environment that makes them feel motivated and inspired, active learning spaces a large part of the learning center These spaces allow students to actively engage in lessons and activities during class due to the flexible nature of the space to adapt to whatever the lesson at hand is Students will have the opportunity to use modular furniture that can be reconfigured to meet their individual needs.
The Flourish Center is a veteran living community designed to foster a gradual growth towards healing. It was integrated into a pre-existing building showcasing the use of adaptive design The central focus of this project is to provide the veterans with a sense of community and comfort With the end goal being that they may seamlessly reintegrate themselves back into society and rediscover a sense of belonging.
At the Flourish Center, veterans are invited to enjoy a variety of actvities with others living in the community. Whether that be enjoying a meal with friends, enriching their knowledge in the reading room, or enjoying some fresh air outside, the goal of the center is to allow residents to create a sense of community.

As you enter into the space you will immediately find the formal dining room, where guests are invited to sit down and enjoy a delicious brunch Just around the corner are former horse stables that have been transformed into private dining spaces. Additionally guests can help themselves to the grab and go coffee and pastry bar This bar can easily be accessed through the side entrance and is perfect for those who need a quick pick me up
