Tell everyone who you are and what you do. My name is Miri Ben-Ari, I am A Grammywinning violinist, producer, Keynote speaker, a “Goodwill Ambassador of Music” to the United Nations and entrepreneur. Who motivated you to be the woman you are today? My mother has always been the one in my life who believed in me. My child, Dorel, sees me the same way, but my biggest motivation comes from learning from mistakes and striving to improve. How did you first get into music? My parents gave me the violin when I was just five years old. Let’s talk about your new music projects and the motivation behind it. I am currently involved in several projects and music collaborations. I recently released a new single “Fur Elise” in collaboration with the talented young Israeli producers Omri Dehan, and Guy Manor Lander “Manro” from BantaBeatz Productions. It is the first Hip Hop Phonk song featuring a violin. We are working now on many records together. What project inspires you? My latest venture is “Symphony of Brotherhood,” a campaign to fight hate and antisemitism through music inspired by the rise of antisemitism in the US, especially among young people. I collaborate with Minister Derrick Starks and the gospel choir to create a new sound and interactive audience experience. This project premiered to an overwhelming response in events hosted by the New Jersey-Israel Commission to Governor Murphy, attended by government officials and community leaders. Our next campaign is in partnership with NYC public schools, aimed at reaching thousands

of students and kicking off Black History Month in New York City. Tell us about your Tech Startup. My entrepreneurial endeavor merges two of my passions: music and technology. Israel, known as the “startup nation”, has a thriving culture of innovation. I founded a technology company to solve problems in the music space by using advanced technology. What makes your music unique and different from other’s? I am an original artist; I like to think outside the box. I don’t follow rules, I create my own. My music education includes classical and Jazz, providing me with both technical foundation and also creative thinking. You could say that my music achievements are unique, I am the first and only violinist to win a Grammy in the Hip Hop category. I am the first and only violinist to collaborate in different music genres (Hip-Hop, Jazz, Afrobeat’s, EDM and Latin) on hit records as a “featured artist”. I have recorded and performed with numerus Grammy awardwinning artists such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Wyclef Jean, Wynton Marsalis, Britney Spears, Maroon 5, Akon, Donna Summer, Janet Jackson, John Legend, Aventura, Armin Van Buuren, and Diamond Platnumz. How would you define your purpose? Donna Summer once told me that I am “the bridge” meant to connect and unite cultures. At that time, I didn’t fully understand her words, but now I am embracing my purpose, also through my project “Symphony of Brotherhood.” What has been one of the greatest moments in your career? So many!! Let me mention a few: becoming an “Apollo Legend”, meeting and playing violin for Michael Jackson, being introduced to the scene by Jay-Z, winning a Grammy with Kanye West, being honored and performing at the White House, speaking and performing at the United Nations, receiving the “Martin Luther King Award” from Israeli president Shimon Peres, being an immigrant who received the “Ellis Island Medal of Honor,” delivering two TED talks and sharing my professional experience and knowledge as a keynote speaker. You are a celebrity music artist who is also a keynote speaker. Tell me about your TED talks? I delivered two TED talks during COVID. Honestly, I never knew I would enjoy it

as much as I did and learn so deeply about myself in the process. Being a keynote speaker, sharing my story and professional experiences, along with the transformative power of music, is a truly humbling experience. I explain how music can help with personal growth, business development, teamwork, enhance focus, foster relationships, and contribute to making our world a better place. What have been some of the challenges and hurdles you’ve had to go through to build your career? So many. It is very challenging being a pioneer. When I started no one was receptive to my unique perspective on the violin – as a featured artist both onstage and on records. This has been a revolutionary approach, I had to hear the word “no” like million times, and the journey is still very much a “work in process”. Musicians often remain uncredited in commercial music and experience unfair treatment when it comes to publishing. I hope to help change this. Another challenge is that the music industry is male dominated industry. Seriously, can you name many renowned female classical composers or prominent female music producers? If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? I have been to many places, and I love to travel. I don’t hold a preference for any specific location over another. I think I would like to travel to Africa next. What is one fun fact about yourself? I love rainy days. What advice can you give to the next generation of female leaders? Don’t be afraid to break stereotypes, you can do anything. Where can the readers follow you? Would love to hear from you! www.miribenari.com and @miribenari

IRMA 6 PROMOTING NETWORK

Tell everyone who you are and what you do? My name is Irma Cádiz, I am an actress, sometime home cook, mother, wife, & coquitera.

that I took on this role, I was enduring the worst of the teenage “fire” years with my own son and daughter. This character role helped me get through some of the darkest times and gave me hope. To this day I have a strained relationship with my own son, but we love each other and both know we will work through our differences. Part of my drive as an actress is to make sure that I leave some sort of legacy that can one day take care of both my children and give them later in life what I could not give them early on.

What inspired you to pursue a career as an actress? I took a drama class in high school and the rest was history. Though admittedly there have been times where I have had to take a pause and deal with life, acting has always been something I have held on to. Practicing my art has helped me work through some difficult phases and gives me a strong sense of purpose. Let’s talk about your new role on Raising Kanan, streaming on Starz network, “Valentina”. This is the role that finally got me my Sag card, and it is my very first recurring role on a major network series. I play the role of Raq’s (Patina Miller) hairstylist Valentina, and I own the Dominican hair salon where she gets her hair done. Out of the films you had a role in, what character was your favorite? The role I loved most would be that of Lourdes, in “A Wound in Time.” This was the film adaptation of the very first stage play I performed in at the Nuyorican in New York City. The writer and director, the late Stephanie Wilson, had a gift. Unfortunately, this film never got the care it deserved before she passed away and it is a project I would love to see completed to its full potential at some point in my career. I play a saucy side chick in this film who can’t understand why her lover doesn’t care for her the way he does for the main character. Lourdes battles her own addiction demons as well and is a character with many layers. How was the experience being on “Raising Kanan” & “Law & Order”? It has been an honor and blessing to have been invited onto both of these shows! You are literally on set working with titans and thinking to yourself, “Wow, this is real, I am here!” Where do you see yourself in the next five years? I see myself kicking down even more doors, and breaking stereotypes about who can play what role. As a young actress I was afraid to take on Shakespearean

Are you working on any new projects or upcoming events? I focused on theater during the strike in order to continue flexing my actor muscles. Now that we are back in action, I spend my time auditioning and working towards landing my next role. roles. There was no representation there and I couldn’t envision this chica, “Siendo Dominicana y Boricua,” playing any kind of aristocratic character. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton” tossed these fears of mine on their head. As an actress I’ve looked up to Keira Knightley and the types of roles she’s played, thinking them out of reach. Now I’m just waiting for someone to hand me a corset, because in American history there are plenty of stories which have gone untold and can be played by people like me.

Where can the readers follow you? You can easily find me on Instagram @irmacadiz if you would like to follow all my adventures, & if you love Coquito the way I do you can check out our website: www.coquitolady.com in order to get your “Culture Served on Ice.”

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? If I could go anywhere in the world, it would be Hawaii. I haven’t had the pleasure of traveling there and have always wanted to go sip on coconuts and work out with Gilad Janlowicz, & Trella, an aspiration that stems from watching Bodies in Motion as a teen! What has been the biggest accomplishment you’ve received in your career? Meeting the playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis in person and having him stay friendly with me on social media. He is an inspiring writer and I have performed several of his characters, St. Monica being one with the most personal importance to me. St. Monica was a saint who shed many many tears as a mother. She had difficulties with her son St. Augustine who went astray. St. Augustine eventually becomes the “Father of the church.” During the time

Who motivated you to be the man you are today? My daughter. She inspires me to be a greater man, father and role model every single day. Knowing that there is someone who looks up to me and loves me unconditionally through my good and bad days will always motivate me to never give up on my dreams.

Tell everyone who you are and what you do. I am a 28-year-old Comedic Actor that has built my own comedy brand called “DreDayTv.” I create, direct and act out my own comedy skits and I do stand-up as well.

Let’s talk about “DreDayTV” and how it got started. I started DreDayTv back in 2017 on YouTube. I rarely posted any content under the name, which is crazy after seeing the growth of the brand today. Even after creating that name, I posted videos underneath “call menandre.” After I realized how difficult it was for people to follow me just because of that name, I decided to change it and brand myself under DreDayTv. This one little tweak in my name changed my whole life. I went viral and had a mass following across all social media platforms.

What is one fun fact about yourself? I’m not only a comedian, but I consider myself an artist too. I love to make music in my free time. It gives me the creativity to express myself.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Living comfortably and succeeding in my comedic career. As an entrepreneur, I do plan to invest in different businesses and give back to my community, but those ideas are currently still in the works. Definitely stay tuned though.

Are you working on any new projects or upcoming events? I’m currently working on doing more stand-up to help build my brand and name in the stand up community. I’m ready to connect with those who are looking to book shows in the near future!

What has been the biggest accomplishment you’ve received in your career? I recently received the YouTube plaque for reaching 100K subscribers. Knowing on the backend of how hard I worked to get to where I currently am makes me grateful for everyone that continues to support me.

Where can the readers follow you? They can follow and support me @dredaytv_ on all social platforms.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Paris. It was one of those places that I always wanted to go as a child. I’ll fulfill this goal one day by taking my daughter and experiencing it with her. Who is your favorite stand-up Comedian? Kevin Hart. The way that he has built up his brand over the years has really inspired me.

George Strait, he is the undeniable king of Country Music, and his catalog has most definitely been a huge influence for me. How did you get into music? I’ve been around music since I was very young. I think I played my first show in a VFW in Missouri at about 15 years old. My family has always played music, so it just sort of came naturally. Let’s talk about your single “Out of the Blue” and the motivation behind the song? “Out of the Blue” is a song about self-reflection, real life experience, and the blessings in life. I think “Out of the Blue” really reflects the feelings we were trying to capture when writing it, and also keeps an emotionally deep song fun, and light, and easy to listen to. What are some of the struggles and hurdles you’ve had to get through as a country artist? They say Nashville is a 10-year town, and that is a true statement! You have to stick it out, it’s tough to keep going, but it’s great to see the payoff! I’m very appreciative of the support I’ve been getting lately! What are some of your goals for 2024? I’m currently in the studio working on a new EP release for 2024 and playing more live shows to promote “Out of the Blue”. A big goal of mine is to get a single into the top 40 at Country Radio.

Tell everyone who you are and what you do. My name is Halie, and I am a singer/ songwriter based in Nashville, TN! What made you pursue a career as a singer? My older brothers had a band while I was growing up, so I’ve always kind of been around singing and music. As I got older, one of my brothers moved to Nashville, and became a very successful songwriter. It inspired me a lot, so of course, I had to follow suit and chase my dream career in music as well. How would you describe the music you typically create? The music I typically create is Country, with a very Nashville singer/songwriter touch. Let’s talk about your new single and the motivation behind the song. My new single that is releasing in February is called Whiskey Girl. Whiskey Girl was created shortly after I was gifted a free bottle of Whiskey from a company called J.J. Pfister. Me and my co writers all sat down together and talked before our write... I had said “I guess I’m a whiskey girl now” after explaining the gift. That sentence was all it took to write the song that day.

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would love to perform at The Ryman here in Nashville. It has been a dream of mine ever since I learned it was the original Grand Ole Opry... And don’t get me wrong, performing at The Grand Ole Opry now would also be a dream come true, but there’s just something magical about that Ryman building.

What are some of your goals for 2024? One of my goals for 2024 currently is just trying to find more golden hooks for the songs that I write. It would be a dream come true to write a song that gets cut by a major artist, or myself take off on social media with one of the songs I’ve written! What has been one of the greatest accomplishments you’ve received in your career? I’ve had a song cut by Martina McBride! It is called Girls Like Me. Tell us one fun fact about yourself? A fun fact about myself is that I can yodel, and I’m also related to Jimmie Rodgers, who was known as “The Father Of Country Music” who also yodeled! Are you working on any upcoming events or projects? Currently as of right now, I am getting my band together soon to have my Whiskey Jam debut in January! Where can the readers follow you? Tell everyone who you are and what you do. I hail from Dallas, Texas, and grew up in the sunny southside city of Oak Cliff. Georgia has been my home for the past 13 years, where I discovered my passion for singing at the tender age of 5. As Yolanda White in Texas, I adopted the name Londee the Artist as my pen name following the release of my debut EP. Recognized as an acclaimed International Recording Artist rooted in the United States, I’ve had the pleasure of touring internationally to Sao Paulo, Brazil, Bahrain, and Japan, and have collaborated with other artists on several projects, Opened and performed opened for and performed with top artists such as Howard Hewitt, Alexander O’Neal, Dave Hollister, Tony Terry, Little G of Silk , Raheem DeVaughn and Palmer Williams. She has also graced the stage at after parties for Bobby Brown, KC & Jo-Jo, George Clinton, Tom Browne, Michael Ward and the S.O.S. Band. I’ve often been compared to a youthful spirit thriving in an environment steeped in old-school vibes. Alongside my artistic pursuits, I am also the proprietor of Musicians In-Kind Community Services Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for individuals within the musician community. Our organization addresses the unique challenges faced by those in the industry, recognizing the profound link between creativity and overall well-being. We offer tailored services across the spectrum, ensuring access to crucial medical care during crises, preventive measures for holistic well-being, specialized workshops, and vital health insurance access. Through our Human Services programs, we provide essential aid during financial hardships, support for funeral services due to the loss of a spouse or minor child, and pathways for career advancement. At Musicians InKind Community Services Inc., our commitment is unwavering: nurturing the health, stability, and creative vibrancy of our musician community, ensuring not just survival but a thriving existence both personally and professionally.

What or who motivated you to pursue a career in music? Raised in a household steeped in musical traditions, where Gospel or R&B melodies were ever-present, pursuing a career in music wasn’t my initial inclination. Despite participating in school choirs and special musical ensembles, I remained unconvinced. It wasn’t until I earned my first $100.00 from a show that I began to consider this path as enjoyable and perhaps something I could embrace wholeheartedly. How would you describe the music you typically create? My storytelling leans toward narratives that provoke contemplation, while my songs often carry subtle life lessons. While not all tales stem from my own experiences, I draw inspiration from people around me. I find myself thinking, “Why not share this valuable nugget?” Not everyone might be in love, but many aspire to love someday, seeking guidance on navigating relationships or mastering the art of successful dating. Let’s talk about your new single “Before” and the motivation behind the song. Engaging in random conversations with Gen Y females, I began noticing recurring toxic behaviors in guys labeled as boyfriends. When I posed specific queries like asking for the guy’s full name or the duration of the relationship in today’s digital age, things got vague. With everything accessible online, I pondered, “Where do we stand?” Hence, I thought, why not craft a mini guide disguised as a song? After all, who doesn’t love music? If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be? The idea of a specific location in the world never really crossed my mind. I’ve been fortunate to grace many grand stages, yet it’s the intimate settings that truly resonate with me. There’s something special about witnessing the eyes of the audience, sensing the room’s energy, and experiencing the release of whatever burdens they carry. Essentially, it’s about aiding them in navigating whatever mental state brought them there in the first place.

What are some goals you would want to accomplish in the next three years? Over the next three years, my aim is to establish one of the largest non-profits, providing in-kind services to 50 to 60 families annually. I also aspire to have a distinctive furniture piece featured in a renowned furniture store and to become a vocalist performing in arenas where audiences sing along to my lyrics. What is one fun fact about yourself? I enjoy crafting furniture from wood and found joy in working on cars to supplement my income while raising my children. If you could talk to your younger self what is one thing you would tell her? Don’t let anyone dictate what you can’t do or impose limitations on your life. Are you working on any new projects or upcoming events? I’m currently preparing for an exciting 2024 release schedule: a new album, the launch of a memoir titled “Moffatt Bluez,” set to debut in February 2024, and a tour in the works. My calendar for 2024 is filling up rapidly. I was thrilled to conclude 2023 with a solid 217 shows, and I’m hoping to double that in 2024. On January 27, 2024, I will be awarded a Trailblazer award and recognized by the School of the Great Commission for my dedication to building God’s Kingdom, stemming from my commitment to service and community. NAS 22 PROMOTING NETWORK

Tell everyone who you are and what you do. We are NASRUS; a Pop/R&B duo comprised of Shawn Rivera, (formerly of ‘Az Yet’) and Norm Adams, best known for his duets with Julia Robertson of the 90’s girl group ‘Ex Girlfriend’. How did you come up with the name “Nasrus”; what is the meaning behind the name? It’s actually pretty simple. We combined our initials (Norm Adams, Shawn Rivera) and added the word ‘US’ to the end to create a self-identifying acronym. It could also be read as “Norm and Shawn R US”. Let’s talk about your new single “Neurotic Goddess” and the motivation behind the single. “Neurotic Goddess” is tongue in cheek cautionary tale about the dangers of infatuation. In other words, not everything that looks good to you is good for you. It’s pretty safe to say that most of us have been there at one time or another, right? What do you think is missing in today’s music? Having been raised in an era of great musicians and performers such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, who poured their heart and soul into every song, it seems to us that there is a certain degree of authenticity missing in the music being created by some of the younger artists of today. There are a few notable exceptions, (like Coco Jones, for example), but given that much of today’s music is marketed with social media in mind, it seems that the focus is now more on trends and that which can capture a person’s attention in the space of a 60 second TikTok or IG reel. What has been one of the most memorable moments you’ve had in your career? Shawn: For me there have been many, including receiving a

Grammy nomination for an Az Yet song I co-produced with Babyface and David Foster called “Hard to Say I’m Sorry”. The one that stands out the most, however, is working with the late Dr. Maya Angelou on her final recording, “Caged Bird Songs”, an album which I produced. Norm: Mine is a little more modest, having been an indie artist my entire career. I would have to say it’s been the honor of having had opportunities to share the stage with artists I have long respected and admired, such as Full Force, Force MDs, Christopher Williams, Intro, the late DMX and my NASRUS partner, Shawn Rivera. Let’s talk about the promo tour and what the fans can expect from the tour. The promo tour is going great! We’re having a ball introducing ourselves to audiences across the U.S. and abroad. We’ve performed in cities such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Tampa, Tucson, AZ and Milwaukee, WI. We’ve traveled to the UK and Amsterdam to introduce

ourselves to European audiences, and currently, we are on the other side of the world in Malaysia doing the same. We are building NASRUS as a global brand, one city/country at a time. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be? Well, as we said earlier, we’ve already had the opportunity to travel to several different countries on the strength of “Neurotic Goddess”, and we anticipate being able to continue to do so as we release more music. That said, we love performing, so anywhere in the world where people enjoy and appreciate our music is where we want to be. We go where the love is. Tell everyone who you are and what you do. I am Eden Garcia-Balis, a BIPOC, fluent Spanish-speaking Latina, and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, in charge of Airport Marina Counseling Services, a community clinic by the LAX Airport that provides low-cost mental health services to the underserved and underprivileged. I have been the clinic’s CEO for nine years and love the fact that our clinic makes mental health care affordable to everyone. What made you want to pursue a career as a licensed marriage & family therapist? I was earning my bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences and was interning at the Probation Department, providing case management services, and I wanted to do more than give counseling referrals to families who so desperately wanted to get their child in therapy, to get to the root of their poor decision making. They would often report services were very costly and that it was difficult to access these services. I wanted to be part of the solution and provide direct services at an affordable rate. I believe everyone, regardless of socio-economic status, deserves quality mental health care at a price they can afford. What are the positive aspects of a marriage and family therapist? Being a marriage and family therapist can be very fulfilling and rewarding. Days are filled with assisting clients learn new skills to live a more fulfilling life. There can be a great deal of flexibility, like making your own schedule, setting your own fee, and providing telehealth and/or in-person services. Another positive aspect is that there are many career paths for LMFTs. One can provide direct services, teach at a community college or university, or work in the department of mental health in a variety of capacities. I can go on and on. Let’s talk about your experience working with Airport Marina. Working with Airport Marina Counseling Services (AMCS) is amazing. It’s my dream job and defines my life’s

interests or hobbies you have? During my time off, I like to spend time playing basketball with my boys, watching movies with my husband, barbequing with my parents and siblings, and going to brunch with my girlfriends. I believe it is very important to refuel, especially in the helping field. I firmly believe in the saying... “You must take care of yourself before you can take care of others.”

purpose. As I have mentioned before, I believe everyone deserves quality mental health services at a price they can afford. AMCS offers telehealth and in-person sessions, seven days a week. Client fees are based on gross income, so everyone can get the help they need. We offer individual and group therapy, family and couples counseling, and even psychiatric services. As you can see, we are all about reducing barriers to accessing treatment. We have a diverse group of therapists volunteering their time in exchange for quality training. How would you define your purpose? The mission of AMCS aligns with my core values and life purpose. I really don’t see my job at AMCS as work because it is my passion. The mission of AMCS is to provide accessible community-based mental health services and provide quality training to therapists. I will add that it is very important to me to address and remove the stigma that is sometimes attached to mental health. At our clinic we go out of our way to talk about our mental health just like we do about our physical health. There’s no stigma with getting a physical or having your blood pressure checked, and there should be no stigma about seeing a therapist to deal with whatever is happening in your life. Where do you see yourself in the next three years? I see myself retiring from AMCS. In three years, I see myself expanding programming at the clinic, identifying gaps in services, and broadening our reach. The possibilities are endless. We are recognizing every day that mental health is more and more important, and I am hopeful that over the next three years – and beyond – we can engage more people and help them prioritize their own mental health and seek help for the ones they love. Can you tell us some of your other

What advice can you give to someone who needs a therapist? If you are in need of a therapist, do your research. Ask for referrals and look for reputable websites where you can learn about licensed therapists and the way they work, as well as their specialties. I tell people to find three professionals who resonate with them and schedule a phone call. Most therapists do a complimentary, courtesy call with potential new clients. Be prepared. Have a list of questions you want to ask. Equally important is having a list of qualities or other characteristics and/or shared experiences that you’re looking for in a therapist. Are you working on any events or projects? September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and Los Angeles World Airports, which operates LAX, is putting together a Safety Stand Down Series for their employees. AMCS is one of their panelists, discussing communitybased access to support. It is vital that companies take this topic seriously, providing education for their employees and dealing with this subject head-on, and it is encouraging to see the airport doing exactly that. Soon, we will be working on our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Spring Celebration. The Spring Celebration is a dinner, complete with a silent and live auction, that helps our clinic raise the funds necessary to serve as many clients as possible and keep our rates affordable. What’s great about this event is that the silent auction is online, so anyone, anywhere, can participate in the auction. We usually have hotel stays, tickets to sporting events, themed baskets, and much more. Please check out the website closer to May 2024 for more details – you could get a great deal on an auction item and support a great cause at the same time! Where can the readers follow you? Perhaps the best way is to sign up for the AMCS Newsletters at the bottom of the AMCS homepage at: www.AMCShelps. com, but we are also active on Facebook (@airportmarinacounselingservice) and on Instagram (@AMCShelps).
