The road side storm water drain is removable concrete slabs provided with slotted openings for flooding waters to enter the storm drains.

The sewer drain slabs are not perforated.

The new permanent houses built with all required services of water, drainage, electricity, besides elevated roads .

What were thatched huts and no water supply or sanitation now have all services and private garden space nefore their house. Twin Drains are laid on both sides of the road

On-site simple sanitation-at only 30 % of cost of conventional sewerage with sewers & manholes and at only 10 % of the time of completion. Pertinent for rural and far flung peri-urban locales and is the urgent need than all other sectors.

The Oxidation and Maturation Ponds

The commissioned pond system for Colachel.

The entire pond system is securely fenced. The walkway is mainly paved to permit a safe walking path for women within this fenced system. Here sewage undergoes natural treatment under the heat of sun and algaebacteria are symbiotic. The final water coming from ponds meet pollution control standards. It is divered to many trees like cocoanut, rubber, Africal Mahagony, Red Sanders, Tsubabul timber, Tsubabul foliage and Banyan trees

Advantages 1. Conventional sewers are in middle of roads 2. Sewage blocks mean cutting roads 3. This system will never require cutting roads 4. Drains can be cleaned by manual labour 5. Septic tank sludge digested there itself 6. This costs 25 % of underground sewerage 7. Clean environment. Traffic goes freely 8. No need of electricity for sewage flow 9. Manholes are fully eliminated 10. People need not go into manholes
