BothDogwood(No.3)andCardinal(No.12)arecurrentlyrankedamongthebestinthestate bytheNorthCarolinaGolfPanelandGolfDigest.TheDogwoodcourseisalsorankedinGolf Magazine’s“BestCoursesinNorthCarolina”,Golfweek’s“Top200U.S.ResidentialCourses”and previouslyenjoyeda33-yearruninGolfDigest’s“America’sTop100GolfCourses”.

A CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

CCNC’scommitmenttoamateurgolfhasincludednumerouschampionships,includingthree USGAnationalchampionships,sevenSouthernAmateurchampionships,andmanyCarolinasand NorthCarolinaAmateurs.Themostrecentchampionshipwasthe73rdplayingofU.S.Junior Amateurin2021,wonbyNickDunlap.OtherchampionsatCCNCincludethelikesofJack Nicklaus(US ProfessionalMatchPlay),BenCrenshaw(SouthernAmateur),HalSutton(US Amateur)andWebbSimpson(SouthernAmateur).

CCNCnotonlyhasastreet,lake,restaurantand neighborhoodsnamedafterDonaldRoss’Scottish hometown,butarelationshipbetweenRDGC, whoseChampionshipcourseisrankedNo.2inthe worldbyGolfDigest,datesbackdecades.Anannual matchisplayedbetweenthetwoclubsalong withanofficialreciprocalarrangement.

OverhalfofCCNC’smembersdonotresidelocallyin Pinehurst,withmanyspreadthroughoutotherareasofNorth Carolinaalongwith28differentstatesandCanada.

NATIONALLY COMPETITIVE MEMBERS

ThecurrentCCNCmembershipincludes37golferswitha combinedexperienceofover170USGAnational championships.In2023alone,fourCCNCmembers qualifiedforandcompetedinoneoftheUSGA’s15annual nationalchampionships.

Excellence in AMENITITES & FACILITIES

What started with 900 acres and one golf course has grown to a 2,000-acre property that now includes 36 holes of highly-acclaimed golf and a host of modern country club amenities including multiple restaurants and event spaces, rental homes for out-of-town members, tennis and pickleball, fitness center, pool complex and recreational lake.

Acommitmenttoongoinginvestmentinfacilitieshasledtonumerousadditionsand upgradesinrecentyears,includingaDogwoodcourserenovation,remodeledclubhouse diningspaces,newladies’lockerroomandlounge,anewracquetsandfitnessbuilding, andpickleballcourts.

DOGWOOD & CARDINAL GOLF COURSES

Meandering through the rolling hills and pine forests of the North Carolina Sandhills are two highly-ranked and championship tested golf courses Dogwood(EllisMaples,1963)hasplayed host to three USGA national championships, including the 1980 U.S. Amateur won by Hal Sutton, along with seven Southern Amateur championships and twice the PGA Tour’s U.S. ProfessionalMatchPlayChampionship.Cardinal (RobertTrentJones/WillardByrd,1980)hasnow joined Dogwood’s championship pedigree as the co-hostofthe2021U.S.JuniorAmateur.

ArecentrenovationtoDogwoodperformedby KrisSpenceincludedamovetotheultra-playable andrarelyseenZeonZoysiaturfgrassonthetees andfairways.Thenewlyrevampedcourseis currentlyrankedNo.4inthestatebytheNorth CarolinaGolfPanel.

Bothgolfcourseshaveachievedandmaintained certificationintheAudubonCooperative SanctuaryProgramforGolfsince2003and remaintwoofonlythreegolfcoursesinthe Sandhillstohavethedistinction

CLUBHOUSE & DINING

The55,000squarefootCCNCclubhousehas underwentatransformationinrecentyears,including completelyremodeledindoor/outdoordining,bararea, banquetandeventspace,newwinelockers,andladies’ lockerroomandlounge.Includedintheremodeled diningspaceswasacommitmenttooriginalworksof artfromlocalartists One-of-a-kindpaintings,pottery, woodetchingsandtablescanbefoundthroughoutthe restaurants.

RENTAL COTTAGES

CCNC’sCottageprogramisavailabletomembers andtheirguestsduringvisitstoPinehurst.Thefully equippedhomeshavefromthreetofivebedrooms andprivatebathsandprovideenoughspaceand comforttoaccommodateashortweekendstayup toaweek-longvacation.

AvibranttennisprogramhasexistedthroughoutmostofCCNC’s history.Today’sfacilitiesincludeeighthar-truclaysurfacedcourts andlightsforeveningplay.Thefastestgrowingsportinthe country,pickleball,wasaddedin2020withthebuildingoffour courtsontopofthehillsideoverlookingWatsonLake.

TheCountryClubofNorthCarolinaFoundationwasformedinrecent yearsaswayfortheClubmemberstocombinetheirindividual philanthropiceffortsintothatofthegroup.Thepillarsofthefoundation’s missionincludeemployeedisasterreliefandeducationassistance,local communityoutreachandamateurathletics.

EMPLOYEE DISASTER RELIEF

Oneofthecorevisionsofthefoundationwastocreateamore organizedwaytoassistCCNC’sdedicatedemployeesintheir timesofneed.Fromhomefloodsandfires,tomedical emergenciesandfamilytragedies,thefoundationhasbeenable toeasethefinancialburdenofthesesituationsformany employees.

EMPLOYEE EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

Thefoundationprovidesemployeeswithschoolsuppliesfor theirchildrenalongwithtuitionassistancetoemployees attendingthelocalcommunitycollege.

SCHOLARSIHPS

In2023,theCCNCFoundationintroducedanannual scholarshipprogramtobenefitthechildrenanddependents ofClubemployees.Thisprogramofferstuitionsupportfor uptofouryearsofhighereducation.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Thefoundationhasofferedsupportandgiftstoanumberof localnon-profitorganizations Thoseeffortshaveincluded providingmealstothelocalMealsonWheelsprogram,aToys forTotstoydrive,anddonationstothelocalBoysandGirls Club.

AMATEUR ATHLETICS

CCNC’slonglegacyofsupportingamateurathleticshas carriedforwardintoanothertoppriorityofthefoundation. Theassistancehasincludedprovidingover36,000bottlesof watertotheUS KidsWorldChampionshipsandorganizing andhostingjuniorclinicsforthelocalFirstTee.In2022,the foundationteamedwithagroupthatincludedtheUSGAand GolfDigesttohelpUkrainianjuniorgolferMishaGolodsafely leavehiswar-tornhomecountrytocometrainandeducatein theUnitedStates.

Governance PRUDENT FISCAL MANAGEMENT&

CCNC’s61-yearhistoryhaswitnessedjusttenmembersserveasclubpresident.

ThiscontinuityatthetophasallowedCCNCtomaintainaconsistencyofmissionandvision fromeachgenerationtothenext.The18-memberBoardofDirectorsservesamaximumoftwo 3-yeartermsand,asrequiredthroughtheclubbylaws,iswellrepresentedbylocal,NorthCarolina andNationalmembers.

Inadaptingtomembertrendsanddemand, recentcapitalprojectsanewbuilding housingacasualbreakfast/lunchgrill,anew andlargerbarareaintheclubhouse,along withgreatlyexpandedandenhanced outdoordiningareasacrossboth restaurants.

FAMILIES TRADITIONS

WINE SOCIETY

AstheUnitedStates’totalwineconsumptionhasmore thandoubledinthelast25years,CCNChasadaptedto thechangingdesiresandexpectationsofthemembership. CCNC’sWineSocietynowincludesindividualclimatecontrolledlockers,asommelieronstaff,discountpricing andhardtofindwinesforhomeconsumption,and numerouswinemakerandtastingeventsthroughoutthe club’sannualcalendar

PICKLEBALL

Asthesportwasquicklybecomingthe fastestgrowinginthecountry,CCNCwas thefirstclubinthePinehurstareatoinvest inandbuilddedicatedpickleball-only courts.Thecorrespondingprogramhas seentremendousgrowthinjustafewshort yearsasalargepercentageofmembership havegiventhenewsportatry.
