MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members and Friends, 2018 has been a pivotal year for the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, its members, stakeholders and employees. The Chamber is consistently growing with the establishment of a federal approach permitting each of the 5 Chapters to lead its local presence and events with our State Chapter Councillors. With over 100 business events, we have certainly delivered on our goal of improving our members' network through a variety of industry seminars and briefings, workshops, social gatherings and our annual flagships bringing together attendees from diverse industries, levels and backgrounds. We have had a successful FY18 in terms of our memberships, events and business services; all figures having increased from the previous year. The Chamber’s Total Income for 2018 increased by 20% compared to 2017. This result was driven by the continued execution of industry specific seminars, noteworthy speakers and prestigious guests. This is also reflected through our Business Forum, which has grown to be an unmissable event in the Team France annual calendar, taking place in three major Australian cities: Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney in 2018. We are determined to continuously bring innovation, visibility and success to our members and business community. Looking at the year ahead, we are committed to deliver on our set objectives for 2019. With a consolidated operational team of engaged and energised people, and each business unit continuing to perform at the top of its class, we remain dedicated to our members and the communities in which we operate. Finally, I would like to thank all stakeholders for their contribution and commitment to our Chamber. We have come a long way and 2019 will celebrate 120 years of the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

What we do

Achievements

Produce and oversee the newsletters, Digital Marketing Communications, Business Forum and Annual Reports publications

Worked with CCI France International to build a new mobile-friendly website as part of a wider project to migrate participating Chambers' websites in December 2018

Develop and update content for facci.com.au, the official Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages

Consitent increase of followers and likes on our official social media pages

Inform members of the latest information relevant to their businesses in Australia through our publications.

Increase members’ visibility through the Chamber’s print and online platforms

Working with the Trade, Membership and Events Departments, the Communication and Marketing Department successfully designed all the publications of the Chamber

Designs and concepts were created for all major French Chamber events such as the National Business Forums, Bastille Day events, Gala Dinners, Tour de France Lunch, etc.

The Chamber’s Industry Committees bring together members who represent an industry sector or common business interest, giving them the opportunity to share professional experience, and acquire valuable business information first-hand. These committees also shape our industry events calendar. Each Industry Committee group fosters active engagement with members and the broader Australian and French business community through a series of targeted events throughout the year nationally.

FINANCIAL REPORT

The financial statements at 31 December 2018 have been audited by Mazars Australia (Duncan Dovico Chartered Accountants). 2018 closes with a profit of $9,116. Total Income for 2018 was $1,393,965 representing an increase of +20% compared to the previous year. Movements in income categories since the previous year are as follows: • Events: +26% • Membership: +2% • Services: +103% Events represent 37% of total revenue, membership 42% and services 21%.
