imbledon Chinese Cultural Group is set up for the local

Chinese community and others in the area who share an interest in Chinese culture, to introduce and explore Chinese culture & traditions. AIMS o develop and organise a range of activities including talks and demonstrations on Chinese art forms, traditions and practices; as well as more informal social meetings.
Celebrating festivals:
To be a resource to the wider community on issues relating to the understanding of Chinese society and preserving Dragon Boat Festival, 5th of 5th Moon (this year falls on June 8th ) Chinese cultural identity. Activities: Fine Art, including calligraphy, brush painting, poetry reading, classical storytelling, films / DVDs
Seven Sisters Festival, 7th of the 7th Moon (this year falls on August 7th )
Myths, legends, and folklores
Mid-Autumn Festival, 15th of the 8th Moon (this year falls on September 14th )
History of China & current affairs Crafts: knot making, origami
Games: chess, bean-bag juggling, table tennis Abacus, music and dancing, instruments, cuisine, and more.
The Double Ninth on 9th of the 9th Moon (this year falls on October 7th)

Guild House, (Dining Room & Lounge) 30/32 Worple Road, Wimbledon SW19 4EF
Time:
Alternate Tuesdays (Please refer to timetable for the dates or call Lee for details) 3.30 pm to 5.30pm
Membership:
All are welcome irrespective of race or belief. Priority will be given to Merton residents.
Tea and refreshments will be served and we ask for a contribution of £2.00 per session.
