The Institute of Civil Infrastructure logo is our key visual element to our brand identity. The cog wheel utilised within the logo identifies our partership with the Civil Contractors Federation. The logo should be used, where possible, as illustrated below.

LOGO COLOUR PALETTE TYPEFACE IMAGERY LANGUAGE

For one-colour materials, the Institute logo may be used in black on a white background, or white on a black or gray background. Please refer to the color palette pages in this guide for more brand colour standards.

Additionally, if required, the logo may be used without the tag line but this should be a last resort only.

Do’s and Don’t Do: • Maintain integrity of logo as shown in this brand guide • use the logo in the brand colours of blue and orange wherever possible • Consider the background on which the logo is to be used to dictate ther version that is selected.

Don’t: • Change the approved colours • Alter the typeface or proportions • Add new graphic or typographic elements • Resize, stretch or compress the logo Clear space A minimum 5mm amount of clear space must be maintained around the logo at all times. This is to ensure its visbility and protect its integrity.

Minimum size To ensure that the logo is large enough to be easily recognised the size should not be smaller than 20mm box. This is the minimum size to be used. The logo can and should appear larger where possible.

COLOUR PALETTE

The Institute of Civil Infrastructure colour palette has been selected to provide a cohesive and balanced presentation of its brand identify aross all materials.

Generally, these colours should never be changed or altered.

Colour Groups Primary The primary colours are for use in graphic design elements, background fields and typography.

The primary colour grouping icludes two official colours: The Institute of Civil Infrastructure Blue and The Institute of Civil Infrastructure Orange.

Secondary Use of secondary colours should only be when referring to the three key management skill sets - Technical, People and Business & Operations or if the graphic design requires an additional colour outside of the primary such as background elements, graphic shapes or to highlight design accents.

Neutral Use neutral colours as an accent to primary and secondary colours.

Neutral colours can be used to help set apart elemtns such as captions or supplemntary information.

IMAGERY The Institute of Civil Infrastructure has a very clear brand when it comes to the imagery and survey lines.

Imagery It is important that any industry specific imagery used have a ratio of men and women depicted.

Traditionally, the civil industry has been very male dominated and the Institute along with the Civil Contractors Federation are working to create a more inclusive environment for men and women.

Blocks of colour When utilising blocks of colour, either The Institute of Civil Infrastructure logo or survey line markings should be utilised to maintain the brand integrity. Please see below for examples:
