HARDWARE PRICE INCREASES EXPECTED
We've been notified by some of our industry partners that they are expecting an increase in PC hardware costs in 2026. Here's what you need to know:
Potential Impact
Global supply and cost pressures are building for key PC components, so expect rising costs and tightening supply by January 2026.
• Memory (DRAM & NAND): Suppliers are prioritizing AI and data center demand, leading to tighter PC supply. DDR4 prices could climb up to 30-45% , with DDR5 seeing smaller but steady increases.
• Storage & GPUs: SSD and mid-range GPU costs are projected to rise 5-15% as production shifts toward higher-margin parts.
• Trade & Logistics: New tari structures and higher freight costs may add further upward pressure by early 2026.
What we recommend
• Buy soon: Secure hardware/components in December 2025 to avoid early 2026 price hikes.
• Prioritize current inventory: Stock built under 2024 cost structures will be more a ordable than new-year shipments.
• Plan Q1 2026 budgets now: If you don’t purchase ahead of time, budget for a 5-15% average cost increase across most configurations.
• Stay flexible: Consider DDR5 builds, SSD-only systems, or alternative SKUs to o set constrained component supply.
