MESSAGE FROM OUR MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO AND CHAIRMAN CEO AND CHAIRMAN

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we have approached the end of another financial year, we are honoured to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for your unwavering support. Your support has allowed us to continue to meet the challenges and growth in demand for our essential services to combat food insecurity and social isolation in our community.

As we look towards the year ahead, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to our vision to connect our community through food and friendship, and we would be so grateful for you to join us in this journey.

Over the past year, C Care has witnessed remarkable growth, which is both a cause for celebration and concern. On one hand, it demonstrates the increasing recognition and trust placed in our organisation, and our ability to fulfil the growing need for help. However, this growth is reflective of the sad reality facing everyday Australians; the cost of living is continuing to rise and many are struggling to afford the basic necessities

As the demand for our services continues to increase, the incredible collective efforts of our dedicated team, volunteers, generous donors and partners, has allowed C Care to achieve significant milestones.

We have expanded the reach of our services to now serve nearly 2,000

vulnerable members of our community on a weekly basis, ensuring that more people experiencing food insecurity and social isolation are able to receive the support they desperately need Importantly, as the reach of services has expanded, C Care must ensure that we maintain our key differentiator; creating and delivering a bespoke and personalised service, created and delivered with dignity, care and respect

In addition to serving our recipients, C Care has fostered a collaborative and inclusive environment as a 'hub' within our community. By working together towards a common goal, we have witnessed the profound effects of unity and shared purpose. Our volunteers gain invaluable experiences, developing a deep sense of fulfilment and purpose as they make a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve Moreover, our inclusive approach extends beyond our immediate circle, creating a ripple effect within the wider community. By collaborating with other local organisations, businesses, schools, clubs and more, we have been able to forge powerful partnerships that

leverage the strengths and resources of all involved, resulting in a better outcome for people in need. Through these collaborations, we have expanded our reach by bringing awareness to the services C Care provides, and the important role that we play in our community.

As we reflect on our achievements, we must also acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. The increasing demand for our services places a stress on our resources and infrastructure. We must adapt and grow to meet these demands while ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our programs to combat food insecurity and social isolation We face the ongoing task of securing sustainable funding and forging new partnerships to address these challenges head-on.

At C Care, our commitment to our mission remains steadfastconnecting our community through food and friendship. Despite the persistence of food insecurity and social isolation, we feel confident in our ability to fulfil our vision for our future as the leading provider of quality nourishing food services and inclusion programs.

To power C Care forward and ensure sustainable growth, we have established four strategic pillars that guide our work:

Engaged volunteers and staff

The fulfilment of these strategic pillars will be guided by our enablers;

OH&S

Food safety Quality facilities

We would be remiss not to express our deep appreciation for the incredible contributions of our volunteers. Their selflessness and dedication have been instrumental in the success of our organisation It is through their tireless efforts that we can extend a helping hand to those in need, making a profound impact on their lives.

Underpinning the success of our organisation is the generous contributions from our donors. In conjunction with the actions of our volunteers, C Care donors enable us to transform lives and provide hope to vulnerable members of our community. We urge you to take pride in your contribution, which has had a direct impact to change lives because of your compassion and support. Your generosity is a testament to the power of collective action and the positive change it can bring about.

With a growing number of people struggling with the rising cost of living, your support ensures that vulnerable members of our community can access essential food security solutions through C Care's 'Fill-a-fridge' monthly giving program

Marking a special birthday or celebration by fundraising for C Care in lieu of gifts allows your celebration to have a far wider reach than just the people that you invite on the day.

Toby Davis shares why he chose to ask for donations in lieu of gifts for his Bar Mitzvah;

As part of my Barmi program we had to deliver C Care food packages to people in need. It was sad to see so many people in our Jewish community going through a tough time.

I chose to raise money for C Care because it’s Important to help people who are going through a hard time or who can’t shop or make food for themselves. I hope the money I raised can help lots of people.

Like Toby, you too can mark your special occasion by having a meaningful impact on the lives of people in need.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE INFLUENCE OF YOUR SUPPORT YOUR SUPPORT 6

C Care recipient case study 1: Young woman struggling with the rising cost of living

Evie* is a young woman in her early 20s who lives alone without any support from her family. Despite her tireless efforts working multiple jobs, Evie found herself struggling to obtain basic necessities. As a result, Evie felt forced to take out loans to purchase food and keep up with her bills This distressing situation took an enormous toll on Evie's mental health, making it increasingly challenging for her to maintain stable employment.

A few months ago, Evie was referred to C Care. She describes this as a turning point in her life, allowing Evie to gradually regain her footing and break free from the cycle of struggle. She shares that C Care's support has provided her with much more than just physical nourishment; the food has allowed Evie to get back on track with her life, providing stability and giving her the tools and ability to get back on track with her mental health and contribute to society.

C Care's unwavering commitment to her well-being has rekindled her spirit and reminded her that she is not alone in this journey.

Since being referred to C Care, Evie now receives weekly meals and produce packs. She is incredibly grateful for the support from C Care, which has allowed her to get back on her feet and become more self sufficient.

C Care recipient case study 2: Single parent family

Julie* is a single mother with three young children who recently moved to Melbourne to escape domestic violence. However, this brave decision came at a heavy cost as Julie found herself in an unfamiliar city with little to no support system to lean on. The challenges seemed insurmountable, especially as she faced the additional hurdle of ensuring her children's education despite their learning disabilities.

Julie reached out to C Care in a state of desperation In a heartbreaking plea she expressed her stark reality; her cupboard contained nothing more than rice, and she had no funds to purchase anything else.

C Care was able to provide Julie's family with immediate support, supplying her with pantry staples, fresh produce and frozen meals to stock her cupboards and fridge. Julie now receives ongoing support with weekly fresh produce and monthly pantry boxes Though it is not without its challenges, as Julie grapples with the vulnerability of relying on others for support. Amid her reservations, she remains deeply grateful for the invaluable services her family receives from C Care. The assistance that we provide is more than j t t it t lif li th t ll J li t f d th

FORECAST FOR THE FORECAST FOR THE YEAR AHEAD YEAR AHEAD

Since the inception of C Care in 2011, we have slowly expanded from helping a few families per week, to 250 individuals prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, to now nearly 2,000 people from all walks of life who are experiencing food insecurity and social isolation.

As we look to the year ahead, the growth in demand for our services is projected to increase consistently to support nearly 3,000 people in need on a weekly basis.

It can be heartbreaking to hear about the harsh reality of the need in our community, and the struggles faced by everyday Australians. Your support throughout this year has been instrumental in making a tangible difference. As the hardships faced by vulnerable members of our community continues to be exacerbated by the rising cost of living, we continue to rely on your generosity and support in the year ahead.
