Sehr geehrte Leserinnen und Leser,
Dear readers,
der Bodenseekreis ist etwas Besonderes. Wenn auch jeder andere Landrat dies von seinem Landkreis sagen wird, können wir einige aus meiner Sicht sehr überzeugende Belege anbringen: den See selbst natürlich, die Internationalität der Region, die Vielfalt des Hinterlandes. Aber auch die Daten und Zahlen sprechen für uns: Regelmäßig rangiert der Bodenseekreis bei Vergleichen der Wirtschafts- und Innovationskraft auf den vorderen Plätzen. So zum Beispiel im deutschlandweiten Ranking von weit über 300 Landkreisen der Zeitschrift „Focus Money“. Auch im EU-weiten Innovationsindex belegen BadenWürttemberg und darin insbesondere der Bodenseekreis fast schon traditionell Spitzenplätze.
The district of Lake Constance is something special. I know that every other district administrator can say that of his district, but we really have some convincing arguments in my opinion: The lake itself, of course, the region’s international flair, and the diversity of its hinterland.

Einen Eindruck, woraus sich diese Kraft speist, vermittelt Ihnen dieses Magazin. Es ist aber noch mehr: Betrachten Sie diese Publikation als eine Einladung, die Reize und Stärken des Bodenseekreises persönlich kennen zu lernen – ob als Geschäftspartner unser zahlreichen Unternehmen und Institutionen, als Besucher der vielen überregionalen Messen oder ganz privat als Tourist. The data and figures are in our favour, too: The district of Lake Constance regularly comes top in comparisons of economic strength and innovation, such as the nationwide ranking of over 300 districts carried out by the magazine “Focus Money”. In the EU-wide Innovation Index, Baden-Württemberg and in particular the Bodenseekreis district have led the field for a number of years now.
This magazine gives an idea of where this energy comes from. But it does more than just that: View this publication as an invitation to gain your own impression of the attractiveness and strengths of the Bodenseekreis district – whether as a business partner of one of our many companies and institutions, as a visitor to one of the many international trade fairs, or as a tourist.
