An Invitation to Draw Deeper into God's Mission through Prayer As we begin the New Year, we wish you every blessing that the Lord of abundance has for you and your loved ones.

In the next Seasons of Prayer journey from January through April, we are mindful of the many ways God continues to provide — not only in our personal lives, but across our shared global ministry. We give thanks for the countless expressions of God’s care: in the resilience of our partners, the dedication of our global staff, and the faithful witness of churches serving in diverse contexts around the world.

Together, we recognize that everything entrusted to us — our relationships, experience, resources, and opportunities — is meant to be offered back to God for the flourishing of others. As we pray through the months ahead, let’s remain attentive to how God is at work through our global family, and open to the Spirit’s leading in how we might participate more fully in that work.

Thank you for recognizing his invitation to places of despair so that we can bring his hope by befriending the lonely, fostering community, and welcoming the stranger with generosity, humility, and courage.

The following pages are filled with heartfelt prayers from around the world that address this very call.

May our prayers draw us deeper into God’s mission and strengthen our commitment to walk alongside our partners, staff, and churches as we join him in bringing hope, healing, and transformation to the world.

Gracious God, As we enter a new year, we pause to acknowledge your abundant generosity. You have entrusted us with life, community, gifts, and opportunities. Each was given so that we might participate in your purposes.

Teach us to steward these gifts faithfully. Help us use our time with discernment, our abilities with humility, our relationships with care, and our resources with generosity. And deepen in us the grace to steward the gospel itself, not only through compassion and service, but also through words that bear witness to the hope we have in Christ.

Renew our sense of calling as your image-bearers.

Form us into people who cultivate what you have placed in our care and who speak and live the good news with integrity and love. As we join you in your mission of reconciliation and healing, give us courage to embody the unity of proclamation and demonstrate your heart for the world.

May our stewardship this year, of every gift and every opportunity, bring glory to your name and blessing to those you place in our path.

Gracious God, We thank you for your goodness and mercy. Thank you for entrusting us to care for the needs of your children.

On this World Day of Education, we pray for the work of the global Church in empowering communities through education. We give thanks for the way that CBM's partners are stepping up and bringing hope for a better future through their programming.

Whether it’s skills training, homework help, or material supplies, every effort has far-reaching effects for successful lives and livelihoods. Hope begins with hearing and learning about how you make the impossible possible.

Yet, we know that many still long for the opportunity to study. We pray for the many young girls who have been denied, adults who think that it is too late, and students who need extra support. But in the midst of these and other challenges, we know that you, O Lord, are active and working.

Strategic Planning Process

God of order and direction, As the Board of Directors works closely with Elie Haddad in Lebanon, grant us wisdom as we seek your guidance with Elie and all the stakeholders in the strategic planning cycle for 2026-2028.

The Greek word STRATEGO means "the general's view of the battlefield." It suggests that to be strategic is to be comprehensive, to cover the landscape, and to span the entire organization.

Your word tells us in Proverbs 15:22: “Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many counselors bring success.”

Oh Lord, give Elie a listening heart as he hears from key stakeholders. May his team look beyond the horizon, trusting that you will reveal to them CBM's strategic goals to meet the complex realities of our world.

Holy Spirit, help this strategic planning group perceive your leading as they listen attentively to key people in envisioning the next chapter in CBM's ministries.

In the strong name of Jesus Christ, we echo this prayer, Amen.

Encouraging Father, With grateful hearts, we reflect on the countless lives that have received hope for the future because your people in every nation met the poor with tangible demonstrations of the gospel. You cheer us on as we work to implement programs that offer skills training, practical supplies, and supportive faith-based communities for success.

There is not one who is desperate and in need, who is outside of your gaze or excluded from your pursuit. By your grace, may we receive a greater impartation of your heart for those burdened by the complex hardships of poverty. Compel us afresh by your abundant love to proclaim good news to the poor so that families may be fed nutritionally and spiritually.

Though the magnitude of the need in our world is overwhelming, we rest in knowing that we co-labor with you and with one another. Give us clarity to discern our part and joyful vigor to do it well. We acknowledge our absolute dependence upon your Spirit to bring about any true and lasting change, and so we yield to your leading. Grant us wisdom and patience, creativity and humility. You are the hope of all nations.

Africa Team

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, ”Here I am! Send me!”

Lord, You call your people to serve in your ministry.

In Africa, a team of people responded like Isaiah, “Here I am, Lord, send me.” With the help of the Holy Spirit, they use the different skills you entrusted in them to change lives.

They encounter different challenges in their ministry from poverty to natural and man-made crises. We pray for perseverance so that they may not lose heart. We pray for unity, harmony, and cooperation so that they may be stronger together. Let them remain confident in you as your soft voice says, “Do not be afraid, for I am always with you.”

We pray for the partners and the local teams who are called to fulfill your mission. We pray also for the partners in Canada who support them spiritually and materially.

May your ministry keep bringing light into the world through your servants.

On this day, we acknowledge the injustices in our broken world, and we come before you with hearts open to your call for righteousness and peace. Thank you for the beauty of diversity in your creation and the dignity you have given to every person.

Open our eyes and hearts to the need to build a more equitable world. Help us to work together to end poverty and hunger, reduce inequalities, and make your planet cleaner, safer, and more sustainable.

Move us to compassion, prayer, and action to improve lives through education, health, and justice. Give us the courage to defend the weak and minister to the poor, marginalized, oppressed, and forgotten.

Asia Team

We lift the Asia team to you as they lead the profound and challenging ministries rooted in your divine word and love. Bless the vulnerable children, youth, and women with inner strength, dignity, and wisdom as their lives are transformed by the Holy Spirit.

Bless the staff and CBM’s partners who enter places of despair and darkness to be beacons of hope and strength. Protect them as they operate in dangerous areas of human trafficking and prisons to offer new life in Christ.

Thanks for the Asia team who work where the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few (Mathew 9:37-38).

Grant them divine protection, keen discernment, and perseverance as they seek justice, rescue the oppressed, and dismantle systems of exploitation.

International Women’s Day (March 8) Helena Bergen Executive Director, CBWOQ

Dear God, This month, we mark International Women’s Day and turn our attention to your blueprint for the human race as you have revealed in your Word (Gen. 1&2). In your wisdom, you created us uniquely and designed us to partner with joy in caring for creation and stewarding it as your representatives. You placed your divine image on us, creating a beautiful reflection of who you are.

Your design is good and life-giving, intended for the flourishing of life and this world.

Yet we acknowledge with sorrow that much has gone awry and things are not as they should be. In many places, the personhood of women is routinely and systematically diminished. Wherever injustice and inequity persist, women suffer deeply, and along with children, bear the weight most heavily.

Father, you sent your Son to reconcile and restore all that is broken (2 Cor. 5:11-21). As your children, we share in this mission. So we pray, let your Church be a place where the status of women is honoured, protected, and defended; where equity is cultivated; and where relationships contribute to the flourishing of all.

Help us to recognize attitudes, practices, ideologies, and systems that do not align with your design. Let your Church be the agent of your restorative work.

Open their eyes to the needs around them, and grant them wisdom, compassion, and the right words to be a blessing in every context where you send them to be a light.

French Language Day (March 20)

UÉBFC (Union d'Églises Baptistes Francophones du Canada)

Heavenly Father, You created us in diversity, with different languages, cultures, and communities, so that together we might reflect the fullness of your glory. On this French Language Day, we especially remember the Francophone community in Canada. Though they make up a quarter of the population, many live in spiritual deserts—regions and communities with little or no evangelical presence. We pray that the gospel would touch and transform these areas, bringing hope.

We lift up Quebec, home to most Francophones, where spiritual deserts run deep. Recent secularism laws have pushed faith to the margins, limiting public prayer and support for faith-based schools. Yet even in this postChristian context, you are drawing a generation hungry for meaning and hope into your presence.

We give thanks for what you are doing through Canadian Baptist partnerships—planting missional hubs in Francophone areas, training and supporting workers, and establishing new churches. May this network continue to expand across Canada, sending workers out as you instructed in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

May the unique voices and cultures be celebrated, and may the Church grow together as one body, united in faith and service.

Dear Lord, We thank you for all those you have called to serve the Chinese diaspora here in Germany. No one desires more for them to come to know your Son, Jesus Christ, than you.

Move in such a way that their hearts become open to your Word. Bring hope into the darkness among lonely students. Let your love reach the hearts that have isolated themselves in media consumption. Lead them to find Christian fellowship and your friendship.

Heal broken marriages by allowing spouses to perceive your great love and patience more deeply. Bring peace into families as they begin to follow your ways in faith.

Give parents wisdom as they raise their children, whose culture and ideas often feel so foreign to them.

Through Chinese believers, open the way for their relatives in China to come to know you as their Lord and Saviour. Permeate a country with light that seeks to control your work and subject it to human powers.

Let the lives of Christians in China shine so brightly that they cannot be ignored.

Prayer for

Easter

Dear Father, Our hearts rejoice today, the holiest of days, for our Christ is risen. Even the grave could not hold our Saviour, and death has been overcome!

We give thanks, O God, that you so loved the world that you gave your Son, and through him we now have eternal hope.

Even as we celebrate resurrection, you call us to remember those who still wait in places of grief and pain. Make us resurrection people shaped by the longing of Holy Saturday — willing to stand with others in their suffering, bearing hope wherever there is brokenness.

Teach us to live faithfully in this in-between space: rejoicing in what you have already done while trusting that you continue to restore and renew all that is broken. Shape us to work toward faithfulness over results, until the day when your Kingdom is fully realized, and all will be set right.

Today, we ask for hearts that love extravagantly, eyes that see the marginalized, and the humility to treat all with dignity, just as Jesus has shown us.

God, send us into the world with the hope of the resurrection, confident that the tomb is empty, Christ is alive, and all things will be made new in your time.

Gracious God, You knit your people together across borders, cultures, and languages, calling us into a family that reflects your heart for the world. We remember that in Christ, “if one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.”

(1 Cor. 12:26). Teach us to live this truth with courage and compassion.

Deepen our solidarity with the poor, the displaced, and the marginalized, those whom Jesus himself identified with when he said, “whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40).

Give us hearts that do not turn away from suffering and voices that are willing to advocate for justice, dignity, and hope. May our actions reflect the good news proclaimed to the poor (Luke 4:18) and the character of Christ who took the form of a servant.

Earth Day (April 22)

Creator God, We pause in gratitude for the world you have made — its beauty, its rhythms, its abundance, and its fragile wonder. You formed the heavens and the earth with intention and love, and you entrusted this creation to our care.

We confess that we have not always lived as faithful stewards. Too often, we take more than we need, ignore the cries of a suffering world, and forget that the earth is yours and everything in it.

Renew in us a spirit of humility and responsibility.

Teach us to live gently, to choose wisely, and to act with courage in ways that protect and restore creation.

Gracious Lord, We ask that you bless the MENA team as they faithfully serve a region marked by both deep need and profound opportunity. Their work touches many essential areas—supporting ministries and churches, developing leaders, and standing with countless individuals and families facing war, displacement, and ongoing instability. The mission is great, and the land is truly thirsty for the hope and presence of Christ.

Continually renew the strength of every team member.

Lord, help them steward the resources, relationships, and opportunities placed in their hands, so that Christ may be reflected in both word and deed through our partners and churches. Help them live out 1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Guide them through the many challenges they face, including sudden obstacles and unexpected situations that arise across different countries and contexts. Help them stand firm in God’s promise: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). May his Spirit guide, strengthen, and sustain them beyond their limitations.
