Important Announcements

BSU Block Party on Thursday! Next Thursday, February 26, the Black Student Union will host its annual Block Party in the Field House All students are invited to attend - activities will include waist bead making, dominos, card games, mancala, slam poetry, and a guest speaker. Food will be available for purchase a chicken plate with 2 sides for $8, and sweet tea or lemonade for $2 Click here for more information, and here to see modified dress guidelines for the day.

ASB and Student Council Applications for the 2026-2027 School Year are now available in Schoology ASB Applications (President, Vice President, Secretary, Communications & All Commissioner Positions) are due Friday, February 27. Building Bridges for Belonging parent group meeting | February 26 from 6 – 7 p.m.: Join us in the Brother Bertram Hall Living Room. Building Bridges for Belonging is a parent community dedicated to connecting families, strengthening our shared community, and fostering a culture of inclusivity for all If you are looking for a way to get more connected, have a place to ask questions, or meet other parents, this is the place for you! Free Youth Heart Screening | Sunday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: One in 300 young people has a heart condition that puts them at risk for sudden cardiac arrest, which is also the leading cause of death for student athletes. In collaboration with UC Davis Health, free heart screenings for students and young adults (aged 12-25) will be offered at Rio Americano High School These screenings can help identify potential heart conditions and provide families with valuable peace of mind. Seniors

Senior Class Holiday - Optional Day Trip to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk: The senior class council is planning an optional activity for the senior holiday: a day-long senior trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Friday, April 17. This event is optional, and all seniors interested in attending are responsible for covering the cost of their ticket for the day All seniors attending the Senior trip must ride to and from the event in the school-chartered bus. Seniors may not provide their own transportation to or from the event. Tickets are limited and based on a first come, first served basis Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.

Kairos: Take advantage of making the final Kairos for your class. The March Kairos will take place March 10-13, 2026 You can register and make a payment here Kairos is a definite highlight in your senior year. It is a fun week of community building, reflection, and celebrating our faith in the presence of God All that is required is an open mind to the retreat and faith experience A student does not need to be religious to participate. All are welcome!

Twin School Week: From March 3-6, CB will celebrate and fundraise for our Lasallian "Twin School" in Ethiopia Our Twin School was established by the Christian Brothers in 2010 to serve the educational needs of children living in Addis Ababa. While the school is open to the general public for a modest fee, the children from the nearby orphanage run by St Mother Teresa's Community do not pay Throughout the first week of March, CB will raise awareness about our Twin School, and host a number of fundraisers to support our goal of raising $6,000 this year. Students, check Schoology for information about spirit dress days and fundraisers, including a SALT coffee cafe on Tuesday morning, March 3. Click here to purchase a shirt or sweatshirt...all proceeds will go directly to our Twin School, and there will be a spirit day during Twin School week when students will be allowed to wear this apparel with modified dress pants.

You're Invited: Lunar New Year Celebration at City of Dharma Realm: The City of the Dharma Realm is a female Buddhist Monastery in West Sacramento that Christian Brothers has had a relationship with for over 20 years. Their Lunar New Year celebration this year will take place on Sunday, March 1 from 11:30-1:00pm All are invited to participate in the ceremony to visit the City of Dharma Realm and participate in a culturally significant celebration. Interested in a meaningful summer volunteer opportunity? Camp ReCreation is currently looking for energetic and compassionate people 16 years and older (but will consider mature 15 year old students) to serve as counselors for a week at Camp ReCreation, a residential summer camp program for people with developmental disabilities Camp sessions are June 6-13, June 13-20, or June 20-27 This is a very rewarding opportunity for CB students every year! February Donation Drive - Support the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament's Brown Bag Lunch Program! The March donation drive is to support the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament's Brown Bag Lunch program! SALT students will volunteer at the Cathedral on Tuesday mornings throughout Lent, and we are accepting donations to support their brown bag lunch program. The attached document includes items we will gladly accept for donation to the hungry

Counseling

SAT registration for the School Day exam for Juniors is now available for the March 24th school-day exam Registration must be done directly through this link provided by CB Registration closes on February 24th . Weekend exam registration must be completed on the College Board website at sat.org

Register for the SAT prep class offered at CB on March 14 and 21st leading up the March exam at CB or register for the May prep course ahead of the June weekend exam

Looking to take the April ACT 11th @ CB? The online registration is currently full but see Ms ShenkTiffany in Counseling if you are interested and there may be some internal spaces open.

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year: Students have received a Pre-Registration planning form that requires a parent signature. Juniors will register 26th during Flacon Flex. Any students who missed their assigned day (or will be on a school trip) should see their grade level counselor to complete registration or report to the Learning Commons on 2/26

Save the date: Any student interested in taking Dual Enrollment courses at a community college over the summer is invited to attend an information session at lunch in the Theater on Thursday, March 5th

CB Thrift Shop - School dress code clothing is needed! The following dress code clothing is requested to replenish and serve our students for the CB Thrift Shop, Spring Semester: CBHS /college sweatshirts, polo shirts, CB logo shirts, PE shirts and shorts. Donations may be dropped off in the Front Office Please refer to the Dress Code guidelines in the Parent Handbook for more details
