CattleBaron’sBallhasaverypersonalmeaningforourfamily.This nightisacruciallife-savingeventthathaspersonallyaffectedus.In 2015attheageof47,ClaywasdiagnosedwithMultipleMyeloma(MM), anincurablebloodcancer.Hiscancerjourneyledustoquicklyrealize howfortunateweweretoliveinNorthernColoradowhereworld-class healthcaresystemsandground-breakingcancertreatmentwasinour backyard.Atthetimeofhisdiagnosis,fewdrugswereavailableas standardtreatment.Thesedrugsofferedafavorableoutcome,butthe sideeffectswereharsh

TherealnewsisthestandardcareforMMisimprovingrapidly In2018, ClaystartedtakinganewlyapprovedFDAdrugcalledDaratumumab, betterknownasDarzalex Unlikepreviousmedications,Darzalexkept thecanceratbayfor4yearswithminimalsideeffectsandaneasy treatmentprotocol.

OurcancerjourneyhasunknowinglybroughtusbacktoACS,Cattle Baron’sBallandyou!Darzalexwasdiscoveredandclinicallytrialedin partbyresearchers,whoreceivedagrantfundedbytheAmerican CancerSociety.Thisalsomeansitwassupportedbyallthedonorsin northernColorado,who’vesupportedcancerresearchefforts.By donatingtoCattleBaron’sBall,youandthiscommunityhavebeena partofourcancerjourneyandsupportedthisdrugthatsavedClay.
